I'm 53, low BMI and was sleeved 6/30/15! I'm hungry already!
-
I've been hungry on and off today and I'm only 72 hours out. I drank two 8 oz shakes (each took an hour) because it was my first allowable full liquid day. My surgeon says I can have thinned cream of tomato soup tonight and I plan on doing it! In three days I've lost 6 pounds and I was 33.0 BMI the day of surgery.
-
Yes! And I hear it is a good thing! Body is burning stored energy! As for the pain when breathing, YES to that too! My surgeon says it's common and that it's important to keep it up so your lungs stay clear!
-
Question: do yall get over heated really quickly? And does anyone feel pain when the take a deep breath?

What would suck more than not drinking during last year of college is to not find a job after college because you're too fat! It might be "illegal" to discriminate, but it is reality!

What is one thing you use the most post-op

In the first few days post op? Gas-X strips! -
Two 8 ounce protein shakes, 8 ounce chicken protein, a SF Popsicle, 8 ounces H2O by 3 pm! A lot of gas bubbles, but they passed quickly. That's 77 grams of protein but only 450 calories.
-
Canning tomatoes is taking it easy? You go girl!
-
You need to stay in bed! There's no hurry. Try to hydrate the best you can. Sometimes it's the narcotics that cause the dry heaves. And that's got to hurt! Hang in there!
-
SF Popsicles, Unjury Chic broth, G2 with Unjury unflavored, SF jello. Only 350 calories but I got 40 grams of protein! One more day of clears and then on to full liquids.

I wish it sucked about 40 years ago!

Just got my bill and got a surprise

I was cash pay in the U.S. At a bariatric excellence center and the surgeon got $4,000 and the assistant got $400. Tell them that's what you're willing to pay! -
Keep this post going:) Things I am looking forward to (not food related)

I look forward to having a photo of my husband and me taken! We've been married five years and have only two snapshots of us because of my weight issues--including our wedding day! -
I find if I stand up every time I swallow water or anything it helps a lot with the bubble popping right away.
-
In just an hour's time I feel so much better! I needed the pain meds. I hadn't taken any at home so it had been 24 hours. I also took antacid. Now I'm sipping chicken soup Unjury and a jello. I feel human again in just an hour! Thanks people!
-
My goodness I've been so out of it!!! I totally forgot to take pain meds AND the antacids they gave me! No wonder I feel like crap. Thanks for reminding me the obvious! My brain isn't working.
-
You're not the only one! They are on strike! I'm feeling like crap tonight. I just keep reading posts reminding me this too shall pass!
-
Check out Unjury unflavored and add it to anything else allowable.

Other then really sore ribs (from the inside out) I feel normal. Temperatures of either broth or jello (while it's still in my mouth) start these weird mini sparks along my ribs. But for those, I could slurp down small amounts of either. The weirdest thing is I can't taste them hardly at all. I've never read any one else say that, so somewhat unexpected. Going home in a few hours!
-
No one will unhook me!!! I tried, set off all the alarms and they finally got to me! Walked for 20 minutes.
-
Walking? I can hardly get up to pee! My ribs on both sides feel like they been stretched outward from the inside! I'm sore which is making it hard to move. Weird. Wasn't expecting this. They don't seem to care if I walk yet.

June 30th is around the corner!
sleevenv replied to sleevenv's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All done and just laying here! I wouldn't call what I feel is pain, but I'm really sore and my new tummy doesn't like anything put in it. I slithered jello, broth and water down it and it spasms every time. Two hours to eat a microscopic amount. But I praise the Lord I had this opportunity to get ahead of my health issues before they're too bad! I'm on the losers' bench! -
No one ever answers my posts......so please comment!

That was the rule I was given for a sleeve, but not strictly to prevent stretching. -
Wow! That's only 40 pounds??? If you lose 80 you'll be tiny!
