I just experienced my first frothing (or slimes as some people call it)! It was terrible. Chest pain at the base of my esophagus like it clamped down on the chicken and white gravy I had just swallowed. I started getting head spins as my body tried to throw up. I got a bunch of the egg-white like mucous to come up and then I was fine five minutes later. Should have chewed better! Five weeks out.

179.4!!! Into the 170's! Five weeks tomorrow--20.6 pounds gone! Yes!

@anewbeginning15. What was your starting weight?

I'm not sure how, but I never opened the five cartons of chicken broth I bought. Oh well, I'll make soup later this fall.

My HW 200 SW 200 (33.3 BMI) CW 182. So 18 pounds in 27 days, but I've lost almost zero this week. I'm on soft foods and eat 600-800 calories a day. No problem since week one getting in 60-90 grams of protein per day. Since most of it has been liquid, I have gotten 60 ounces of liquid in too. I do need to up my water. Dr says at my lower BMI he thinks I'm doing great. I'm just being able to see a difference, but I've packed my size 14 shorts and Capris and am readying them to ship to my sister.

Hey folks! Four weeks out tomorrow! How's everyone doing? Anyone else hit the three week stall? I didn't, it came in the fourth! Overall, my weight loss has slowed to a creep.

July 21 sleeve date and scared

@@Lexuskela YES! Been there, done that. Almost four weeks out and I have to burp whenever anything goes in the pouch. One time I had a pain pill and I couldn't burp so my body dry heaved until I got this large air bubble up! It's a lot better everyday, so I don't think we need to worry about it being long term. -
@@alindsey Were you sleeved 5/8? 6/8 would be more like 7 weeks ago. Just curious about your weight loss because we were similar SW.

26 days out, feeling great. SW 200 CW 182. No problems at all other than needing to be more creative with mushy foods. Can't eat much and averaging 600 calories per day, but no vomiting, slimes or pain!

Welcome to the losers bench! I was sleeved 6/30/15 and feel awesome. No more pain or even discomfort. I've been run/walking a 5k several times in the past week. I'm also on a business trip requiring two short flights already! I'm on soft foods as of this week, so ordering in a restaurant consists of cream of wheat or soup (no one has even noticed)! Life is good and I'm so glad I did this! -

It will pass! You'll be ecstatic! -
I'm allowed whatever is soft. But I had a bad experience with eggs last week, so I'm skiddish. I drink the water based lemonades and punches from Medical Weight Loss. They're just like drinking Crystal Light. Nothing like unflavored whey protein or the protein shakes. Easy to get in protein with them. Today I'm going to venture out further and try an additional chicken dish.

Wow. You're more adventurous than I am. I'm kind of scared. I did have. One ounce of chicken cooked with diced tomatoes, carrots and green beans. I cut it up in micro pieces and chewed the 20 bites at least 20 times! It was fabulous and I felt better than I had since surgery. I still drink 4-5 protein punches and lemonades, a day so I'm getting at least 80 grams of protein. I'm just sooo ready for more nutritious food!

Hmmm. Hummus!

@ktprimo. What soft foods have you experimented with thus far? I've only had scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, and refried beans.

Three weeks out tomorrow! Down 17 pounds (SW 200 CW 183). I've ran three 5k's on treadmill in the past week and had no stomach pain at all! Starting soft diet on Thursday (although surgeon let me have thick soups and scrambled week last week). Feeling great, but I'm exhausted by evening. -

A lady posted this on another thread and I think it's worth posting here. "The issue with diet coke or any other soda is that it can cause an ulcer in your very small pouch. When you have an ulcer in a regular stomach, they could remove that portion if it won't heal but if you have a very small one, there is nothing for them to do. My brother had Gastric Bypass 10 years ago and started drinking "a little bit" of sodas here and there and then started drinking them pretty regularly. He developed an ulcer in his pouch and had a severe GI bleed. The surgeon told us he was not going to make it, but he did pull through and is doing ok for now. The doctors have told him that the ulcer will always be there and he is in constant danger of another bleed. Believe me, he hasn't touched another soda. It took a few years of getting those little bits in, but it can, and my surgeon assures me, will happen after a period of time. I am also a nurse and I was a diet cokaholic as well but I have now been 3 years without one and I can assure you, I don't miss them now. I am not preaching, nor am I telling anyone what to do. What you do or do not drink is strictly your own business, just make an informed decision. :)" food for thought! -

There's a whole thread on Diet Coke. One of the last posts was by a nurse and another by a scientist. After reading them there's NO WAY I will touch the stuff. -

@theshrinking expat. Lots of us gained weight at the hospital! It's from all the IV fluids and the swelling in our gut! Have faith, it'll pass (with the gas!).
