    I am scheduled to have Gastric Bypass surgery July 9th. My doctors have said it will be several weeks before I am able to resume normal activities but in some of the classes I've taken they have said I could resume normal activity as early as a week. I am curious about other peoples recovery time.....how long before you were up and around? How long until you could start exercising?

    I am scheduled to have gastric bypass surgery on July 9th. I am worried about dumping syndrome. At one of my classes one of the speakers sent talked about this being why he chose the sleeve over gastric bypass... Anyone who has had surgery have any experience with this?

    I suffer from acid reflux. Everything I have read and my doctors suggest that bypass is the best option for me.

    Thank you everyone. It helps to hear everyone's different experiences. I know not everyone is the same but it helps.

    Thank you that is helpful. Some days I am 100% sure this is what I need to do to get healthy and am sure that I am making the right decision. Other days I hear someone talk about dumping syndrome and it freaks me out.
