I have been told you can still get stones without a gall bladder. Sounds awful, im sorry to hear this. As for weight gaib...could it be related to health? I would try liquids for two days, see if it jump starts your loss/metabolism.

10 days 'til surgery and not excited...
India928 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMgoodness!!! I am driving myself CRAZY! Ten days until surgery and I am not excited. I am sticking to this 14 day liquid pre-op diet, on #4. Head hunger is quieting a little, as many of you have stated it would. My concern is seriously that I am NOT excited, I am NOT happy, and I am questioning myself every day! I feel like this mindset is not normal. So many people post how excited they are and how they cannot wait for their new life to begin. Well, I am pissed! I am mad that I have an eating problem; angry with myself for failing before; feel like WHY go through with this if I am STICKING to this liquid diet now, why not just keep at it; anger, sadness, remorse, self loathing, self pitying - hate it. Feel like/acting like I am being sentenced to prison. But then I look at myself and see this three hundred + pound woman and read my BMI and say, "you really don't have a choice if you: want to live longer; not hurt when you walk; buy clothes at ANY store; and God forbid something horrible happens to you and you need physical assistance from someone and you are still obese! Will they care for you with dignity, will they be able to move you easily or will they look at you and decide - the next shift can clean her/turn her?!" So although this surgery is ELECTIVE, intellectually it isn't. Someone, throw me a life saber (and a damn life saver!!!) -
Pre-Op Diet Problems
India928 replied to LadyReyven's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 3 of liquid diet here. Similar experience. the shakes i have are really good actually. Premiere protein. But i too, just dont feel for them. For me, its kinda like im having a self punishing temper tantrum. Im supposed to have 7 a day. 1200 calories a day. SO NOT happening. Today i switched it up a lil. Im allowed broth, sf ice pips, sf crystal light, sf jello. So, i had one shake, two cups chix bullion, and going to have 2 ice pops and call it a night. I find im not PHYSICALLY hungry, but the HEAD hunger is evil! Good luck. I think im going to have to keep posting to get through this. -
Pre-op diet, too few calories?
India928 replied to toasty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day two of my 14 day liquid. Head hunger is VERY difficult to ignore but so far so good. How am i going to make 12 more days of this!!! Omg. Could have choked my family this evening......they frigging ate chinese food.....will the head hunger be easier to manage post surgery because of pain? Lord, God, please help this go quickly and give me the strength to abstain. Good luck everyone. -
Really having a hard time. My food addict is truly getting the best of me.
India928 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all. Surgery is 9/14/15 and I have been having a food hay-day! It is making me feel disgusted with and about myself. Self loathing stinks! I see my therapist tomorrow, thank God, but not sure it will help too much. See, I am afraid of failing AGAIN. So much so that I haven't even had surgery yet and I am failing already. I cant turn from sweets lately or late night snacking. I feel tormented sometimes with my thoughts of "....I wonder if that cookie is still there; Mmmm I really want a half sour pickle; etc.... I feel like I need a lobotomy. I know part of the eating issues are due to life stressors I am experiencing right now: House is in foreclosure; have an out of state wedding to attend this week and I feel disgusted with my body that I don't want to see anyone; surgery is coming up and fears surrounding that. However, despite knowing these issues/concerns, I cant stop myself. What if I cant stop myself after surgery? Oh I feel so conflicted and hopeless I wish I would have just had the RNY from the beginning. Ten years and I am back where I started all over again. Thank you for reading my tantrum. -
P.S. The acid reflux from the sleeve is NO joke! I was sleeved in 2008 and have Nexium. The burping is so annoying too.
-
E Erica.....If you look at my recent posts you will see that you are not alone. I am about to embark on my final WLS - the RNY. Had the Band, then the Sleeve, now back to what I should have done initially the Bypass. I have lost weight with the sleeve, but of the 110 pounds lost I have gained about 40+. Still down from original weight but also still DISCOURAGED and self loathing. My reasons for the sleeve were similar to yours plus some potential medical complications due to a chronic illness - YET, here I am, back where I started 10 years ago. Do your research, but more so, be honest with yourself. Really find your motivating factors for WLS and do what is necessary so that this obesity problem is in the past. You deserve to be happy, feel and look healthy, and live a quality of life in a body that is fit and strong. No one needs to tell you how short life is, imagine how much longer, and enjoyable, it will be when your at a healthy weight. Please don't let fear stop you. You have come so far in the process and you are right there.....don't set yourself back or become complacent. Trust me, we all know how you feel in one way or another......I KNOW how you feel! My surgery is 9/14/15 and every day I try to back out of it, or say to myself "maybe I will just tell the surgeon to re-sleeve me, or I make poor eating choices because of the stress I am putting myself under. I need to just jump in the Water already being my biggest obstacle. Oh what tricks our brain will do. Good luck, God Bless, keep us posted XOXO

Thank you Rejean; Thank you Dub and Thank you Choosehope I thank God for this forum and support from all of you. Choosehope, I definitely would like the titles on some of those books you mentioned. Have you found them to be helpful? Feeling a smidge better today, but I'll take it. Was busy last night so it kept me focused - had to start packing for my trip. Not finished but 85 percent complete. Concentrating on packing kept my mind out of food land for a bit. -

Band removed 3 years ago, now thinking Sleeve?
India928 replied to MEL0129's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Scar tissue isn't typically a problem, just a lil more work for surgeon, as they need to remove it. I would not worry too much about it. My suggestion - do the RNY. I had the lap band 2005; then sleeve 2008; NOW getting what I have avoided due to fear RNY 9/14/15. Not to say you will not be successful with the sleeve, because you will, BUT as with any WLS - need to watch your diet and need to exercise- bottom line. Personally, my feeling is, anyone with a BMI 49 or higher should have the RNY. This is my LAST rodeo! I have Osteoarthritis also, along with Multiple Sclerosis, and had a total knee replacement last year. I am 42 and have had about enough now. Good Luck with your decision! Make sure you search deep. Ask yourself truthfully, why is it you want the sleeve. God Bless -
Oh gosh, I know! I start my 14 - FOURTEEN day liquid diet on September 1st. and I am so not looking forward to it. I am actually scared! But...you hang tight! You are on your way and at the final stretch!!!!! Good for you! Best wishes

SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION
India928 replied to MissLaLa05's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I'm right there with you sister! I am embarrassed and feel like a failure as well! I however, have a big mouth and haven't kept it a secret and now after reading your post I feel like maybe I should have kept my trap shut Well, I pray for us, that this is the final stretch of our weight loss journey and that we finally achieve our goal and are successful at it. For me, this is my third weight loss surgery - Lap band 2005; sleeve 2008; and now the one I desperately tried to avoid - back to where I was TEN years ago! Should have just had the RNY then. -
what exactly did you get done? tummy, boobs, arms, legs? title says Body-lift? I've wondered how much skin removal and lifting/contouring they can do at one time. Congrats on your weight loss AND new body image

Thank you Choosehope! Honestly, I wished more people facing surgery would and/or could get a therapist for the long haul. Surgery is the start of facing the demons that got us to this desperation. goodbye to our best bud - carbs and sugars! -

Surgery date is September 14th. Let me just say....my therapist is certainly earning her money with me! I am all over the place! My food addict is whispering in my ear every damn day, trying to hold on for dear life. It is trying to plant doubt, hopelessness, fear and anger 9/14/15 Lets go!
