  1. I wish someone had told me this before my surgery, so I figured I would share it here. For the first 2 weeks I couldn't eat/drink any dairy products and was miserable. Anything dairy burned as soon as I had it and would cause stomach problems. I found Fairlife ultra filtered milk and I was able to drink it without any problems. Even better, It has 13g of Protein per cup ( more than some protien shakes), added Calcium, and lactose free. If you are having problems with dairy or want an alternative protein source try Fairlife. http://fairlife.com/our-products/

Please share your 1-3 month losses

I'm sure I'm a little on the extreme side (at least the first few weeks): Surgery day: 305 3 week post op: 274 Total lost: 31 pounds I will add I had a lot of trouble with anything dairy for the first 2 weeks, so some of the loss was from an unsustainable diet of Water and chicken broth while choking down watery Protein.
  3. I am just starting the process of attempting to have the Sleeve surgery approved. I have United HC which requires " Documentation of a motivated attempt of weight loss through a structured diet program, prior to bariatric surgery, which includes physician or other health care provider notes and/or diet or weight loss logs from a structured weight loss program for a minimum of 6 months." I have been seeing an Endocrinology for 3 years for low testosterone and weight related pituitary issues. Every 3 month I go into the office for blood work, vitals, and weight loss discussions. Has anyone used their Endocrinologist for the documented weight loss program? It seems this would show more of an attempt to loss weight then going to my PCP every month for 6 months.
