  1. @@TeeNahh just wanted to say good luck today. You're going to do great. I also said a prayer for you. A year from now you'll look back at this and wish you did it sooner. Just wait til we can actually go to a store and say "oh, I like that shirt!" And actually be able to buy it!!!!
  2. Lol sorry for making you all confused..the removed my catheter as soon as I got to my room. It was the initial walking around in recovery I had to keep it in for. The said they normally keep it on for an entire day. I told them well if you want me to walk you better taken that thing out lol. My doc didn't have a problem with it again.
  3. @TeeNahh. I really meant I would do it again. I was very nervous the night before and this morning I was a wreck. Just keep moving, keep on those pain meds and tell them to take that God forsakeng catheter out. It didn't hurt it was just annoying walking around with it bobbling around so you have to hold it. Sorry for any typos. I'm a little drugged up right nor from the Liquid Percocet.
  4. I have very little pain. When I first came out of surgery it was more of being uncomfortable and painful. I was agitated and bitchy lol. Now I'm fine. I keep walking. I would definitely do it again. And I just want to say that for the FIRST time in my life I am proud of myself. I've have had many accomplishments in my life, but this is the first time I am proud of ME. Choosing to do this was the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life. And now that the surgery is over and I'm doing great, I know I'm going to succeed. I hope that I can set an example for others who are struggling with weight. I am also very proud of everyone on this conversation. We did it!!! Now we have to stick to it. I am seriously so proud of you all!!
  5. @kell778. Best advice I can give you is get that catheter out as soon as you can, once that's out, Walk like crazy. It really does help the gas pains. And stay on top of pain meds. Don't wait til you feel discomfort. Because once the pain is there it seems like forever to go away. Good luck to you. I haven't even seen weight loss yet and I'd do this again in a heartbeat. Good luck! Prayers sent your way.
  6. Yes I had mine at 9:30 this norning
  7. How is everyone doing?? It wasn't as bad as I thought. I did 5 rounds around the floor in on and keeping my liquids down. I was so scared for nothing!
  8. Thank you!! I'm fantastic. Walked 5 laps around the hospital. Worst part was the catheter...go figure. I can't believe I did it!!! I'm so excited for the future.
  9. Peg, I would call you NUT. The diet I was on for 2 weeks was different. I only had to do all liquids for 2 days prior. But I would say that ice cream has to be sugar free. But like I said check with your NUT. GOOD LUCK!!
  10. I just wants to say good luck to all of us who are having surgery tomorrow!! I will say a prayer for all of us! Best of luck and here's to a new start!!
  11. We will be back to back surgeries I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 with my surgery time at 9:30 am. How has the diet been going for you? I love 15 pounds...cheated one day. It's so mentally challenging but I know this is jay the beginning!!
  12. Everybody ready??? I'm kinda freaking out now!!! Worried about recovery in the hospital ????
  13. Hi everyone! I am a 32 year old mom of 2. I started my bariatric surgery process on February 18th. I have completed all necessary requirements and now I'm waiting for approval and surgery date ????????????. I honestly cannot wait. I've been overweight since I was 5 with bouts of weight loss over the years, but nothing has stuck. This is my last resort. I'm so ready for this life change!!
  14. Lol! Bet you never thought pudding was so exciting!! I hear the worst part is right after surgery but it gets better. And that's what I remember from my husband surgery also. He was shaking like crazy. I was scared. But he says he doesn't even remember that..well I do!! I'm glad you're doing good!! Keep me posted on your weight loss!! Good luck!
  15. @@lauraellen80, how are you doing?? I've been thinking about you!
  16. Welcome! Looks like we have a few who are scheduled for June 29th! I am not doing so well today. I haven't caved, but my stomach is cramping so bad it hurts to stand up. I ate a protein bar that goes along with my diet, but it had nuts in it. About half an hour after I ate it, I have these horrible stomach cramps to the point where I was breaking out in a sweat. I thought I was going to vomit. Needless to say that I will not be eating those protein bars again and if that experience was anything like what dumping feels like, I for sure will steer clear from foods I shouldn't be eating that cause dumping. M having a lull in pain right now which is why I am able to type. Ugh!!! Wth!!
  17. Good luck with everything! Keep us updated on your progress. We have simular starting weights. Thank you!! I can't wait to start. I'm hungry today! But I'll get through it.
  18. Day 3 down!! How is everyone else doing?
  19. Day #2 I survived!! I even sat in Taco Bell while my daughter ate and I didn't budge!! Woohoo!!!
  20. Since we are all surgery buddies on this post, I'll tell both all a little about me. My name is Shauna, I am 32 years old and the mom of 2 little girls (6 & 21 months). I am a stay at home mom and I live in CT with my husband, kids, 2 dogs and a cat. I've been overweight since I was 5 with ups and downs in between. The lowest weight I can ever remember being is 147...and that was after I lost 65 pounds by being married to the gym. Well..actually getting married and 2 kids later, free time and metabolism are not the same! I am at the heaviest I've ever been (besides pregnancy) of 251 pounds. Yes, I know, many people have a lot more to lose, but I've been living in this body that I do not belong to. My hips and back hurt, I get winded very easily, and I am very uncomfortable not only mentally but physically. My husband had gastric bypass a year and a half ago and has had a very successful experience. I swore to myself I would never get gastric bypass after seeing that he went through (he's a big baby when it comes to pain). BUT, here I am a year and a half after him at the mercy of the dreaded scale. It's time for a change, I have not given up, I have just hit rock bottom and realize I need help with this. It's time to actually live and let my kids live, without mommy holding them back. I am so excited for my future weight loss experience, but most of all, I'm looking forward to leading a healthier life and setting an example for my girls . THE END
  21. Arriana, how are you doing on your first official prep day? I'm so hungry right now but I'm not giving in. I had two big bowls of salad before and that's enough!! Cheetos and Soda (which I'm craving) got me in this position! Now I'm standing my ground and fighting back. Plus, I want to see how much I'll lose in the next 2 weeks
  22. Nice! My diet consists of the shake in the morning, a protein bar for lunch and unlimited salad with fat free dressing and steamed vegetables. The shake wasn't so bad today! But I can tell it's going to get old quick. Lol. I'm going to have to change it up with some berries
  23. Awesome! I'm going to make my first shake now. Using Bariatric Advantage Vanilla with PB2. I hope it tastes good be I'm not a milk person. Idk what time I have to be there yet. They call the week before to let me know that. I hope it's early in the morning so I get it over with. I'm so nervous about the initial recovery right after surgery.
  24. Anyone else? I'm starting to freak out!! I cannot wait to do this!!!
