  1. Wow - I never really did the math but after some research it looks like I'm definitely coming up short on Protein. The Institute of Medicine recommends that adults get a minimum of 0.8 grams of protein for every kilogram of body weight per day, for an unstressed body, to keep the body from slowly breaking down its own tissues [39]. That's about 8 grams of protein for every 20 pounds of body weight. Thank you to all for your insight and encouragement
  2. Only 10 days out from surgery and following my liquid plan as directed. Weird thing, I saw the immediate and initial weight loss associated with the pre-surgery diet (and then surgery itself) a couple days after the surgery. But now, about a week and a half after surgery, I haven't lost a pound in 3 days. I'm not upset as much as I truly don't understand how a 400 pound guy isn't shedding weight like crazy eating only 400 calories a day (of which about 50% is protein). Any ideas??
