    Meat ?

I'm 14 months out and STILL can't digest red meat adequately... Every now and then, when I get a hankering, I chew and chew and chew and chew and spit a lamb chop... But apart from that, it's fish and chicken... And stinkin' Protein shakes!!! Don't get me started!!!!

    Anyone Else Scared?

I think about it... I don't obsess about it... I'm 14 months out and it definitely crosses my mind... But then I eat... And I realize that even now, I'm still not able to consume a cup of solids without feeling like I'm gonna sneeze... So the thought disappears for a few days... You're not alone @@Slim-Shady Not by a long shot...

    "I didn't recognize you"

@@Christinamo7 @@Daisee68 Oh stop it.. (No, don't) You're making me blush.. (And I love it!!) The only catch to bailing you out is... I wanna see the pics and videos that DON'T make the news... Yeah, I'm not one for pics... I've posted one side-by-side pic in the 14 months since my op... And the classy little number that's gracing my profile... And that's because I don't see the big difference... Despite the reality of the 230+ pound loss thus far, I just don't see it.. We're strange creatures, humans.. But for the most part, we go alright...

    "I didn't recognize you"

I've posted my theory on this in another thread at some point I think @@Daisee68 I just think we see ourselves differently than every single other person does.. I don't mean mentally or anything... I mean physically... We are THE ONLY ONE who sees us from the perspective that we do.. Ultimately, we view ourselves from the top(ish), looking down... Everyone else sees us from the front/back/side/whatever... Our view of ourselves is a completely unique angle.. Add the fact that these people don't see you every day and it's actually quite possible that these people don't recognise you.. So I say, good on you for being 'unrecognisable'... Use it to your advantage... Go out and run amok... Call me if you get into trouble... I'll bail you out..
  7. Another 'boy' perspective here.. Niiiiiiice... I mean, I don't turn my entire self sideways for just anyone, you know!! Plus... How can you go wrong with purple and paisley... I'd love a tie in that pattern... I already have shoes that would go with it... And yes, I'm definitely a boy of the male variety!!! I just happen to know that purple and paisley together look faaaaabulous... And even better on you... Congrats to you @@Djmohr

    URGERNT HELP NEEDED

Such fluctuations are completely normal... Daily weighing will almost certainly do your head in... It's virtually impossible to gain REAL weight on what your eating 9 days post surgery... Don't forget that your body is likely still traumatized and therefore still in recovery mode... Your 'gain' could be any number of things, most likely Fluid... I'm sure your doc will put your mind at ease to some degree.... To me, it seems like you're all over this... Keep up the great work!!! Such fluctuations are completely normal... I saw a tweet from someone (can't remember who) re Prince's passing..

    Greetings from Australia... freaking out!

Definitely lucky @ I was similarly fortunate... Take full advantage of the situation... And enjoy the restriction!!! I still struggle with more than half to 3/4 of a cup at 14 months out (on Monday)...
  13. @@erinkath I'd hazard a guess that about 99% of us struggle with the pre-op diet... I did liquids for 4 weeks in the lead-up to my op.. I also 'failed' in the first week... Don't worry about it... But learn from it... Don't keep doing it and forgiving yourself... In fact, don't keep doing it at all.. The only suggestion I have is that each time you feel 'hungry', chew some ice... It hydrates you, it fills you and best of all, it can trick your body into thinking that you've eaten something because you've chewed... Your assumption that it gets easier is generally correct.. Your resolve increases and you become quite stubborn about it... And your other assumption is even more correct.. It is SO VERY WORTH IT... Good luck to you... Sleeping on stomach post opp

Hi @@meg627 I found that I just naturally moved to my stomach once I was able to... It wasn't a conscious decision to do so... I just wen to sleep one night as 'normal' and woke up on my stomach... I'd say the GENERALLY, your own body is the best judge of that... If you fond yourself waking up on your stomach and you're in no pain or discomfort, have a crack at falling asleep that way...
