Eat what you want, eat until you're full, and still lose weight? Sign me up b*tches.

Don't even try anymore Babbs, I just realized we are all feeding them, and no matter what we say they are not going to respect our feelings, they just go and change their screen name and come back on and graze, I think on posts like these I'm gonna start just replying "OK", or "Your Right" if everyone eventually catches on then maybe they will move on to Twitter -

Maybe for some of us this is more serious than you consider it to be, as for me I have a life and family, and if I wanna see a clown we have 3 circuses that come by every year, your posts are detrimental to others and you need help, I work in psych and even though you try to cover it up by using blunt humor I can see right through your facade, you are so unhappy it makes me worry bout you, I'm not trying to debate you, I know how conversations like this turn out, problem is when you come back defending yourself it's sign number 2, so get help, don't make us your company or audience....... -
This is why we have to do the psych part and I believe it needs to be more extensive, the surgery is only a small portion of it, I had to learn what "autonomy" meant and it helped, eating those kinds of things is a gateway, just like drugs, so you need to go back to square one and start again, if not you go in deeper, as for getting in the nutrients, if You follow the Dietician's instructions it is a lot easier to get in your nutrients, I work out pretty intense and I can average 65-100g of protein, 400-600 cals, and 20-100carbs, 55-90oz of fluid, and I reward myself with one cheat day per month, but it's because I was close to losing my life, and I put my mind to it, and decided enough was enough, every once in awhile lately you will spot several clowns on here trying to discourage you or giving you false information, this journey means too much to me to listen to them, and I want to use my bluntness in a positive manner to pay it forward and give back, just take a deep breath, then take accountability, then start to take a step back and start over................ Look at it this way, if you get up the morning then that's one more chance !

Inspiration for the 3 month and under folks...
laguerr13 replied to lucky1gg33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I loved your post, after being very successful since June 10th of my surgery, I am finally at the stall, having only lost 3lbs since my last Dr.'s visit, funny part is I don't care, I went to my PCP on Thursday and my blood pressure is way down, my blood test had only 2 deficiencies, vitamin D, And my cholesterol is still a little elevated, thanks to this forum I've read too much about the stall and was prepared for it, just gotta stay focused, I started my diet in January @ 388lbs, down to 346 on my surgery date, and Thursday was at 306.5, so I will hit my first goal of 299 before this month ends, not bad since I wanted 299lbs as my Christmas gift, I should hit my target of 198-203lbs by February or March 2016, so I'm very motivated, thanks for sharing that, I'm headed in the right direction........ -

I'm looking for feedback on how your surgeon was chosen
laguerr13 replied to Familyte's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had to go into my insurance list of providers, then first had to narrow it down to "Center of Excellence" surgeons only or they would only cover partial, there were 2 in my areas so I asked several people at work as to who they went with, then read any review I could, I set up appointment and I really liked my surgeon so I went with me, unfortunately he was on an emergency on day of surgery but I allowed his partner to do the surgery since he was the other doctor mentioned to me.......... Make sure you and your surgeon click or you won't be happy, my insurance doesn't need to have you go through PCP first, only that you meet the requirements -

You just be you Daveo, be humble and kind and adjust your jewels once in awhile just as a reminder......... Try bookstores connected to coffee houses, grab a latest Stephen King hardback, order a frappacino ( skinny) and sit back on their patio, or even better take the book to a Hooka place........ Yes on my deathbed I will tell my grandkids of grandpa's big weekend with 2 Persian girls he met at a Hooka place while reading an obscure ghost story book from "Strauss" I don't make this stuff up, it's been an interesting life.....lol

I'm not even touching this one, The original post was so bad I don't wanna get in trouble, it's almost as bad as this weekends 20something girl regretting her sleeve and throwing out false numbers, I did the sleeve, I have no regrets, I couldn't lose it on my own, but I'm down from 388 to 306.5 and I'm a beast at the gym, you want some, come get some!!!!!!!! -
2 steps forward 3 steps back...

I did that a couple of times also, I bought a shaker bottle and fill it with my protein the night before, one of the places you have to hit first after the bathroom is usually the kitchen, even if you have pre made shakes keep the shaker bottle in plain sight, and place your meds and vitamins by it also, I have my routine down now and I have my shaker ready and in my backpack at night, I get up take my meds and vitamins, grab my big water bottle and I take off for work..... Give it a shot -
I never had trouble dating, but since I have been married to an amazingly hot woman for 8yrs, I can no longer as the the kids say "be a playa" so I'm gonna give you my secret, I saw your pic and there is nothing wrong with you, so as funny as it sounds at first listen carefully: always use the 3 rules, No. 1 women, even beautiful ones, are just as insecure as men most of the time, they want a (not need) guy who always comes through for them even when they are at their worst. No. 2 always carry yourself with confidence (not cocky) and tell yourself that YOU can date anyone you want, and it's your choice. No. 3 unfortunately because it's primal and most women never even know they are doing it, they can smell INSECURITY!!!! , wear nice clothes, deodorant and a very light "woodsy" cologne, it throws their scent scanner off, and always smile no matter what. I hope that was funny and made you laugh, but believe it or not most of it is true, unless your gonna be a moron and ask a woman to go to bed with you the first time you meet her, in which case it may be followed by a bloody nose or damage inflicted with a swift kick to your "Boys" then the worst she can say is "no"or "no thanks" but you gotta try, regret is the worst thing to remember on your death bed when your old...... Try it!!!!

Ok, that makes more sense Lesson 1: learn to sip your water, it will help, I don't know what you can do on a partial gastric, but as a sleever I had to learn to sip since my stomach only holds 3-4 oz, dehydration is your enemy Lesson 2: the scale is a tool and not your nemesis, don't let it dictate your progress, and don't weigh everyday. Lesson 3: learn about nutrition and read past the fancy print on foods, keep your carbs low, and your proteins high. 3: walk as soon as you can after surgery it helps with nausea, cramps, and the effects of anesthesia. I do weight training since my knees are shot, and I work harder than ever, about 3 x a week after a full day at work and about 1 1/2 to almost two hours, I allow myself rest on the weekends, don't get discouraged at any setbacks, even healthy people have them, and work on your mind as well as your body......... Hope that's a start its a wild ride and there's a hell of alot more to know....... See you on the loser's side -
What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
laguerr13 replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ Elode : it goes farther than chocolate, I worked next her when she became an LVN, then 8 months ago became my RN charge nurse, now watching her get ready to go for her BSN then Practitioners, and she is good friends with the wifey, we are like family on my unit, it is one of the highest acuity units here where I live, and she's sad cause this is probably my last year............ I burned out my psych cells....... ???? -
What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
laguerr13 replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah it finally happened at the end of last week, I went back to work last Tuesday and had lots of hugs and positive feedback, but on Friday and yesterday I got the "dude are you sick?? Cancer???" But the one that made my nurse intervene by placing her hand over my mouth and shoving me away so I would keep my job was "Oh my god your getting too skinny, what hell did you do, that's so weird?????" I guess my nurse loves me and didn't want me to mention the $8500 pair of boobs standing in front of me that were purchased as a gift to her husband who left her a year later anyway for a GIRL 10 years YOUNGER!!!!! Yeah at 55 years old in sure those hooters will get to heaven way ahead of her after she passes........???? -

My only concern is that you haven't stated if you really wanted the surgery and if your heart and mind are not into it, doing things for other people is a noble endeavor that cannot be taken lightly, but you are about to undergo a life and body altering event that can't be taken back whether you fail or succeed, I am trying to be respectful and tactful because of your age, but at 51years old I learned many years ago that even people who may love you sometime unwittingly push things on others due to their own failures and shortcomings, a car or a ring is a nice present for a college student, this gift is more complicated, I in no way want to dissuade you from having your surgery, but if you are not ready mentally and emotionally you will not meet your goals, I had major reasons for doing my surgery and at 388lbs many problems attributed to my weight, but my incentive was to do this to be here longer for my wife and children, my wife is very loving and never pushed me in any way until I said I was ready to have it done, she stood by my side, advocated for me, worked out payments, and took great care of me after the surgery, take a step back and look at who you are and what you want from yourself, ultimately you have to live with and by this decision, not anyone else, it requires a change in diet, lifestyle, and many hours of learning about nutrition, exercise and limitations, it is a sort of rebirth, and just like learning to walk again can be trying at times, whatever your decision I wish you the best, if you ever need an ear or just wanna ask questions you may inbox me anytime, there is a lot to cover about the surgery and what happens afterward, I waited two years after I wanted the surgery to be sure I was informed and was absolutely sure that I would stick with it, BTW I have exceeded expectations and I ahead of schedule, I had surgery on June 10th and will hit 299lbs in a couple of weeks and may hit my goal weight of 198 by February............ But I WANTED THIS!!!!! -
@ her 1981: my theory is changing on this weight loss and diet change, for me personally as soon as I am certain that I would refuse to fall back into my old habits I would like to find that elusive balance in my diet that has escaped me for so long, one of my biggest fears are that there is still no long term research to say say what really happens 15, 20 years down the line, so I want to keep learning and gathering information during my transitioning phase to get the right amount of protein, fat, carbs, calories, etc....... Also I want to stay away from as much processed food as I can, and eventually even use raw sugar twice a week, I see all this as a guide to ensure for me to stay on track for now, but I've been able to gauge myself enough that I've been lucky not to hit the dreaded stall yet and in a few days I'll hit my 2 month anniversary, one other thing I promised myself not to do is to take my weight everyday, the scale it seems becomes a foe, right now I'm tweaking things like diet and exercise, since January - 81lbs, since surgery on June 10th -39.6lbs, down from 58 to 47.8 BMI, and 4lbs of muscle gained, used to average 45 min at the gym 2 x a week, now up to 1 1/2 to almost 2 hours 3 x a week, and I'm not wanting complacency to get in the picture.........
-
Today was my cheat day and I had a taco this morning, 1/2 a ham and pepper jack sandwich for lunch and some chicken for dinner....... And I think I still only hit 600 calories, probably 150 carbs( usually I keep it at 50 carbs) I think I cheated myself !!!!????

Why Getting Sleeved was the Biggest Mistake of My Life
laguerr13 replied to a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@ RJ'S : I think some of us understood the underlying issue but for those who did not I give up, everyone has the equal right to express unhappiness, disappointment, and even grief after receiving any weight loss surgery, what no one has the right to do anywhere anytime is use fabricated numbers and statistics to persuade other people's ideas, opinions, or to create more confusion in them by doing so, it's bad enough that mainstream media does it everyday with things like " the number one killer in America is Cigarette smoking, no cancer, no drunk driving, no......" Get the idea?????? -
Why Getting Sleeved was the Biggest Mistake of My Life
laguerr13 replied to a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
And I stand firmly by everything I said!!!!!!! I don't in any way hate or despise you, but it disappoints me that a lot of what you had to say was way off, I don't know what sources you got your stats from but the one about muscle and fat were very misleading, I don't want to toss stats back and forth all day, because every article can be on either side of the spectrum, but you never mentioned or touched on what YOU did to not succeed, and for someone even thinking of getting the surgery it was like putting a loaded gun in front of an infant and leaving the room......... You may have cost someone who is not yet self informed the chance at a long and healthy better life and that was in no way fair to them, our responsibility as adults is to be knowledgeable about things we want, before we do them, part of that is... No a MAJOR part of that is making sure we are mentally and physically capable of it, it's easy when you have to tell your psych doctor to sign off to have the ability to tell them what they wanna hear, but in the end we are not hurting them, we are hurting ourselves, I advocate for others wanting or even thinking of having surgery, it's my way of giving back and staying humble, if I am going to post something negative about my situation I will be careful how I word it and even before I do that I will research the subject before I speak, I have lost over 80lbs since January, and since being sleeved on June 10th about 57lbs, my BMI was at 59 and now stands at 47.8, I am ahead of schedule, and will be at 299lbs by August 20 or so, and will hit my goal weight sometime in February 2016, I'm 51years of age and have increased my muscle mass by 4lbs in less than 2 months, so either you gave inaccurate numbers of I guess I'm an anomaly? I'm already thinking and planning what I wanna do to maintain my goal weight for the next 10 years, or maybe I just had enough of being fat and got myself together well enough to decide that I was ready to change my life, not just lose weight but CHANGE THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!!!
