I apologize for letting this post get so out of hand, but I felt bad about saying anything after all the posts, anyway i just had my surgery on the 10th and the Surgeon I used is with a medical group called "BMI of TEXAS" so o wanted to know of anyone here in TEXAS was using them, but the posts were so cool I didn't want to take the lollipop away........lmao
  5. Wow had my surgery Wednesday at 10:00A, stayed one night and came home yesterday evening, no regrets yet, lots of pain and soreness, but I got to sleep all nite, my chest pain went away think it was gas, only problem u am having is to keep from taking big swigs of water, no appetite yet, everything is too sweet right now, but I have a good thirst, so happy I did it!!!!!!?

    The Real Me

My surgery went great Wednesday, I made the nite shirt nurse smile by taking off down the hallway in my gown and boxer briefs , and I kept going, I also asked the Dr. To let me come home Thursday since I was off most of the machines and doing things for myself, and I've been doing great, only minor setbacks but nothing unmanageable, small bleeding from one of the incisions, finally released lots of gas, and unsatisfied thirst, like I wanna chug a cold bottle of water so bad, but hey if that's all I can do this !!!!!!!

    75hrs post

Sorry I misspoke, the pain is very manageable here at home, so I don't need the pain mess as much, in fact I told them Thursday morning to take me off morphine and put me on my pain mess, it's the thirst and strong desire to open up a bottle of cold water and chug that is the problem, I keep sipping and expelling and I even called the Dr.' Office, they said I am doing everything right, but I think it's because I was a very big water drinker these last few years, especially after letting go of sodas, and energy drinks, but hey if that's the worst of my symptoms I can count myself as lucky and I can work with it!!!!!!

    June Sleevers!

I too felt better the day after surgery, in fact as soon as u got up and walked, and the water thing is also hard for me since I love water, just trying to sip is a big adjustment, still very sleepy though I want to try to stay awake tomorrow, the pain isn't as bad as I thought it would be, I will try to go get the mail tomorrow for some walking, can't wait to go back to the gym!!!!!

I am home after having sleeve on Wednesday, after being stuck in the bed all day I asked the nite RN to take off my machines for awhile and let me go walking, it made her laugh when I took off down the hallway across the hospital in my town and boxer briefs, also asked my DR. To let me come home yesterday since I was off all my machines and ready to start doing for myself, my wife has been a wonderful motherhennish type of girl, don't get me wrong the pain is there but a lot better than at the hospital, and I slept all nite here, I still have yet to experience the "buyer's remorse" maybe cause I psyched myself up too much, I can't wait to see what tomorrow holds for me, this is very exciting, and I can't wait to put everything I've learned into practice, to all potential future bariatric surgery peeps, the answer is YES! I would do it again in a second !!

Yeah I'm trying to hold off on my pain mess til I need them, but I'm so thirsty
  12. I 8 hours away from surgery and I feel like a 12 yo waiting for a Red Ryder BB gun, I think I psyched myself up so much I don't even care about the pain, or liquid diet the first week, I am also pleasantly surprised at all the support I have received especially from my co-workers, I want this new life, and I'm loving that I've been relearning my diet, and seeing everything I I learned that was wrong,y new motto from one of my guardians on here "Eat to live, not live to eat!"
  13. You are trying to stay on a timetable, and are being too marsh on yourself, if you are trying to do the right thing, following everything your supposed to, then you are already healthier for having done it, we are all different and function differently, that is why sometimes in commercials you see disclaimers in the bottom that read "not common results" but from what I've read on the previous posts , you don't seem to wanna hear it and you've already mare up your mind that you are too focused on the scale, maybe you should seek counseling at this point, you need to change your mindset and refocus on the positives of all this.

6 month Post op checkup today

Your post was very inspiring to me, I hit 398 last year, I got so terrified that by January I was 388 and I knew I would gain it back like I always did, after 2 years of planning and researching I less than 8 hours from surgery, I weighed in at 362.2 about 2 weeks ago, then last week at 349 so by tomorrow I should be at 346, and I hope after the surgery I do even half as well as you, thank you for sharing that, it means a lot.
  15. I am less than 8 hours away from surgery, and although I've psyched myself up, you are truly inspiring, keep doing this, lay the path for those of us who will follow, going through an unknown area is much easier when a trail is laid.

    The Real Me

Weighed myself at work in full scrubs and shoes, 347lbs, was 349 last Tuesday, so I think I'll weigh in at 344on Wednesday for surgery, my scrubs were too loose and kept falling, so I am extremely excited, and optimistic, I want small milestones not scales!

    So excited

I'm actually very at peace with the surgery and everything afterwards, it's all the stuff surrounding it that has me stressed, my wife freakn was it gets closer, my FMLA pay being approved, my car being fixed today..........on a lighter note I was losing weight too fast since I started my pre op, so I had to slow down, seriously that's something I really gotta watch afterward, I lose weight way too fast, just on stopping the snacking, sodas, and my energy drinks, so that combined with my diet, 364.2 down to 349 in week and 3 days!
