I abslutely love Stabilyze Nutrition Bars which I purchased at Costco. They do not have quite as much protein as I would like (11g) but net carbs of 7g and 200 calories make them not too bad. The flavor I am currently enjoying is Dark Chocolate Coconut Cashew, a chewy bar wrapped in dark choc.

How soon did you start driving?
Shustar replied to Hassan_AZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drove 4 days after surgery from San Diego to Scottsdale, AZ which was about 6 hours. No problems. -
You did not tell us where the numbness is. Are you diabetic? Do you take any statin meds? Have you ever had chemotherapy? Do you have any back/spinal issues? If you can give more info we might be able to help.

Congratulations! As a 7 week sleever who has been stalled 5 out of 7 weeks, it really lifts my heart and hopes! I am bowing deeply to your success and perserverance!

I had surgery in Mexico and there was a mother/daughter team in my group. The mom (around 45 years old) had had the surgery about a year and a half ago and was able to lose 85 pounds and her type II diabetes. Her 16 year old daughter is gorgeous and probably about a BMI 31 or 32 and also has type II diabetes. Their main concern was the long term affects of the diabetes and meds on the daughter's organs. I stay in touch with them and daughter is doing fantastic! Off all diabetic meds!

Sleeved June10th 2015 and STILL at a stall!
Shustar replied to AmberWarstler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Amber! I am exactly right with you! I keep vascillating on the same one pound. Lost 10 pounds pre-op and only 17-18 post-op. It is really frustrating and discouraging. I give myself the same advice everyone else is giving us but still feeling blue. I was even looking at buying a new scale this morning...LOL! I did put a new battery in my old one and was up a poound. Gotta have faith! Can't go back so forward is the direction! -
178. Still stalled.

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015
Shustar replied to JosieAppleHead's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@MarceMonster I too am a slow loser. I don't think I have ever seen more than a 1 pound loss (at a time) on the scale. Seeing others' losses on this thread did give me a lot of reassurance that I am doing fine. Learning patience! Same weight for 2.5 weeks. I do not believe in stall breakers because you never can tell if it is the "special treatment" or just your body ready to release more weight. Cruising to skinnyhood! -
Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015

@@rnsamantha Like you, I didn't know what to do with my PB2. Today put my usual Premier Choc Shake in the blender with ice cubes and 2T PB2. Was extra good and filling. I usually just sip on my shake in the car during the 25 minute commute to work so nice change. -

I traveled alone to TJ. I had a lockbox in my hospital room but I also made friends with other people who were accompanying friends and family. I know they would have been happy to watch something for me. I also felt like the staff was extremely trust worthy but... Check and see if you have a lockbox at the hospital. -

@@globetrotter On the up-side, if we ever hit a severe famine, you will be one of the last girls standing! That's what I always tell myself! This is really away from the norms on this site, but have you ever tried the HCG injections? It is supposed to circumvent the normal metabolism system. If you are desparate, you might want to investigate. Just a thought. -

Is it on the food plan from your NUT or surgeon? Probably not, especially the shell. If you can have ground beef, add some taco seasoning and salsa. Add a dollop of Greek yogurt, top with some shredded low fat cheddar and you can have your fix.

When you are in the grocery store, make a quick stop in the aisle where the bags of sugar are. Just try to pick up 5 10# bags and take a few steps. It will definately make you notice! -
I am 62 years old and have done every diet under the sun. One thing I have finally learned is that I cannot/will not be able to do "everything in moderation". I still have this little girl voice deep, deep down that says "you can't tell me what to do"! I know that I am like a heroin addict - I can't do a little just on special occasions. Once I let the sugar monster in - I will justify until I have f*****d myself once again. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I am not telling you what you should or should not do, just sharing my own experience and truth. Go read the honest gals on this thread "2 Years after Sleeve surgery - I have stopped losing". I need to re-read this every day. Diet doctors since second grade and here I still am at 62... I really have a disease, but I have one more new start with a new tool. Totally my choice and totally yours.
