Here I am "Queen of Stalls". Still 170.
-
Starting a week into another stall. Bummer. 170.
-
I have a wonderful consignment shop in my area where I have built wonderful relationships with the salespeople. They are the first ones to tell me whether something is a good size and more importantly, whether it really looks good on me! They have become my wardrobe coaches. As I shrink out of clothes, I return them to get credit on future purchases.

Thanks Steph! I'm in. Goal is 162.

Thanks for all your hard work Steph! I am at 170. Did not hit goal but learning more about the journey!

face lift - "funny" realizations!
Shustar replied to ProudGrammy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@proudgrammy I think you are just a big tease! I bet you have lost so much you don't even have a face anymore?! -
I am the stall queen. 172

I had a knee replacement 13 years ago and have no problems bending it. I play tennis 3-4 times a week and operate a busy shoe store. Just remember, the surgery is like a carpentry project so go as far and as fast as you can. Yes, it hurts but it is worth it in the long run. Good luck!

. Hey kiddo! I am right with you still. I have lost 21 since June 8. Guess we are just slow losers. I am in the airport on my way to Vegas to Shoe Show -
On me way to Vegas for Shoe Show. 174 today.

Waist shapers are an entirely different and extreme deal! They are cinched as tight as one can stand them and could cause serious problems. Shapers are supportive and not extreme. I love my "slip" shapers. They really get rid of rolls and bulges and make me feel wonderful!

Just because my newly operated on stomach does not regurgitate, hurt or otherwise protest does not mean that picking and choosing from the list my NUT has provided is a good idea. I'll bet I could eat Haagan Daaz, chocolate and mac and cheese with no obvious problem but... I chose the sleeve to learn a new system of discipline that I was unable to acquire in my 62 years. Many (OK, most) of you are much younger than I am and I worry about the long term success of this program. I am not eating this way to get to goal. I am eating this way to develop a plan for the rest of my life. I hate following "the rules" but that is why I am here. Getting away with breaking/stretching the "rules" just gives me permission to break/stretch the next one. Good luck to all and peace and happiness on your journey.

Netflix what are you watching? Which series do you love!?

Smoking! surgery 2 weeks away
Shustar replied to lealor's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit smoking a year ago after 43 years. Using a vape with 0 nicotine worked for me. I used it for a couple of months and now seldom think about it. I got my sleeve in Mexico and I will tell you there was a woman who had a band to RNY revision and she and her husband were both smokers. You might get the lecture in Mexico but it probably won't affect whether they do your surgery. If you can get off the cigs before your surgery you will heal better. Good luck! -
175 pounds this week. Looks like epic stall is finally breaking!

I went to TJ from Scottsdale with ALM and Dr. Elias Ortiz. Could not have had a better experience!

Netflix what are you watching? Which series do you love!?
Shustar replied to woo woo's topic in The Lounge
My husband would rather watch a good series than a good movie. He feels you get much better character and pkot development with a series. Some of our favorites that have not received much mentionare: Boss - stars Kelsey Grammer as the corrupt mayor of Shicago Damages - maybe our all time favorite (at least the first 3 seasons) with Glynn Close (sp) House of Cards - Noticed last night that Mike Huckabee has a very strong likeness to Kevin Spacey! -
Surprised at my reaction to weight loss questions.
Shustar replied to Mrs. Reid's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
As a business owner, I have customers, reps and employees who all want to get involved in my wieght loss experience. When they ask questions like "how much have you lost?" or "how much more do you want to lose?" etc. I just smile and say "I appreciate your interest but I don't like to discuss my personal health issues at work." -
In the beginning of my process, I was undecided about whether to share my decision to have WLS in Mexico with my employees or friends. I have a gal working for me who is both a friend and who used to live in my gated community where we play tennis together. As a friend and employer, I decided to share with her my plans. When I showed up for tennis, the whole group rushed up asking about my surgical plans. Yes, I was hurt. Yes, I was disappointed and I was embarrassed. I spoke to my employee who first denied it and then apologized to me. It was not her privilege to share. Now that the genie is out of the bottle, it is up to me to act with grace. I do not need to answer every question that comes my way. This is my life and my body. I am happy to share my journey with you but not your judgment.

Pre op diet ultimate failure to come......HELP
Shustar replied to mizzlane13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is a good time to figure some things out. Why don't you feed your family healthy foods that you can eat? Does your pre-op diet allow for a protein/veggie dinner? Do you really think it will be any easier/different after surgery? This is a really good time to assess if your current lifestyle and responsibilities will allow you to be successful with WLS. Please think hard about this, not an easy path we walk. Good luck. -
