    Workouts at Home

You know I bought DVD's at the dollar store and started popping them in and to my surprise, some are pretty good. The Walk for Fitness is my fav (I am up to the 5 mile advanced workout now-3-4 times a week) and then I order HIP HOP ABS-- a STONG ONE! but results seen first week. I had reach a plateau, and needed to bust through.. this looks like it is working until I really get to my sweet spot and dont have to work AS hard. Hang in there!
  3. I found that if you want to start seeing the weight come down, go FREQUENTLY to your doctor for fills. Some people go every two weeks. Don't be discouraged, get to the doc. and start having your regular fills. I think I could have had some additional fills, but my doctor is non-aggressive with them. Doesnt want me too tight. Hang in there.
  4. Your comment really helped me. I think I am losing SO VERY SLOW. My surgery was exactly one year ago and I have lost 35 lbs. I have had 4 fills 1/2 cc each fill and one 1 cc. I really wanted to lose much faster but my BMI is really down. The scale is slower than my BMI. How many fills did it take you to really see consistant lost without dieting. I still am dieting, watching what I eat very carefully

    Getting back on track

Hello 2008 Cuties! I have had my 2nd fill, and still not restricted! My doc says sometimes it take up to 6 or more fills to really get the right restriction and no doctor likes to be aggressive with the fills because it can be downright ugly--cannot swallow your own saliva! So we must prevail SLOWLY together. My next fill is in three weeks and I have promised myself I will be at the gym walking this week. We have made the commitment, now we just have to go the distance with this process. Good Luck to ALL and Happy Easter!
  6. Good luck Cisco29. I hope it all works out for you. I have not had my first fill yet, but next week I will be able to report back to you on mine! :tongue2:
  7. Dr. Felix Spiegle is a renown lapband doctor in Houston area. He has a couple of offices. His website is felixspeiglemd or www.texaslaparoscopycenter. Hope he can help you. He is a great guy with phenomenal results. I would have used him in Texas, if I had not found the Barix Center in Michigan. I did have a friend who used him for her band, and she is doing great.
  8. Ok, this is the same place and the service is outstanding. I did the consult one day with Dr. Popalawski and then went through the insurance waiting period of about 2 1/2 months. GRUELING, but I had all of my paperwork in order and just stayed on top of it from week to week. By the time the phone call came to schedule the surgery I was elated that insurance covered it all. The preop was not with the actual surgeon, but the day of surgery I was there bright and early. I was first up at 6:00am and by 7:00 the surgeon came in with all of the surgery team and they were all masters at their crafts. Once they started putting the juice in, it was just a matter of time before it was lights out, and the next thing I heard was my name and waking up in my room, I opted to stay overnight. A week later, I have had a couple of calls from the clinic staff, checking on me, and my Dr. appointment is Monday so, overall, it has been steady and good. Just a LOT of gas, pain and soreness around my incisions. Any secret incision balm to heal up the wounds and minimize the scars?
  9. Yes it is-- Prospect St. and which Dr. was your surgeon. Thanks so much!

  12. 3 days out with my band, and I am doing really good. REAL SORE in the area of the port. No extra gas pain or downside to my procedure thus far. My incisions look good, and I am not starving. Soreness is the only thing I have that reminds me that I have had a surgical procedure. Remember this is surgery and we do need to heal. My diet is restricted to high protein drinks, liquid soups, jello, pudding and lots of liquids, water, etc. Vitamins 2 times a day and pain meds. Hope everyone else will do as well as I am doing.
  13. Christann- you will be alright, please calm your self and get some benadryl asap. you will notice an immediate difference. hope you feel better inside too!
  14. banded and back home to day. The big day was Jan 9 and it was smooth as silk--textbook! I got the Allergan AP band and have restriciton already. Not a lot to fill me up--so that's good. I remember being intubated with the breathing tube, but there was no distress, I was so happy nothing mattered. the second day is said to be the most painful, because I am in a lot of soreness today and difficulty laying or sitting. I am told tomorrow it will ease. Pray so! All is well

whirlwinds--relax is the optimal word. Barix is so technical and tight, they have this down to a science. The scary part for me was 5 minutes before they were to wheel me in. The surgeon, anethesiologist, nurses, and my family were all summons and the final prayer prayed, all was well except for a little nervous, but they have some wonderful stuff to give you in that IV bag that will make the journey very easy. Today I m banded and at home. You will do just fine.
