    Had my drain removed today

Hi Craig, I had 10cc of fluid in my drain for a few days, by a week it was around 8cc and when it was removed it was about 5cc every six hours. I would say yours is normal. Good luck with removal. Its only a few seconds.

    Had my drain removed today

My doctor places a drain in all of his patients as well. I read a few topics on here about drains so it looks like others have had it as well. It helps to avoid having an abscess since the liquids are drained instead of staying inside.

Yes, we have a lot alike! I have 70 pounds to reach my goal. Im almost at my first goal of being under 200 lbs. I haven't been under 200 pounds since high school! Tomorrow I get to start eating pureed food. I can not wait! Im so sick of liquids! Hope your recovery is going well!

    Multi-Vitamin struggles

I remember my Nut said no gummies as well. I bought the centrum liquid multi as well and it is better than the chewables but centrum has iron in it and you arent supposed to take calcium with iron so Ive stopped using centrum. If you take iron with calcium, it does not allow you to absorb the calcium. You can take it if you wait 4 hours in between but woth having to take calcium 3 times a day, I dont want to have to wait four hours each time to get my calcium. I guess Ill try the liquid nutrimex multi and see how that goes. Good luck to you!

Im glad yours went smoothly. I wish I could of taken mine out myself as well. I felt like it was stuck on something internally and he just kept pulling. Its weird though cause as painful as it was, it really was just a few moments of pain so I guess it's just apart of this process. Hope your recovery is going well and thanks for the well wishes. Im 17lbs down and feeling great.

    Had my drain removed today

During surgery they placed a tube in my stomach through an incision that attaches to a plastic little bottle that collects blood/liquid. I had to keep the drain attached to me for 10 days. Im surprised you didn't have it at all. Some have it removed at the hospital. It was annoying to hide this bottle under my clothes and I couldn't sleep on my stomach or side. Im glad it's out!
  8. Had my sleeve done 5/11 and had to keep my drain in until today. Went to the doctor's office and found out I lost 13 lbs in 10 days! After the great news, my doctor laid me down and pulled the drain from my abdomen. I read a few topics on here that said this process doesn't hurt. In my case, it was soooo painful! It hurt so much I thought something went wrong. I will admit the pain goes away fairly quickly and by the time I left the office, I was no longer in pain but wow that hurt a lot!! Just sharing my experience for others that have to keep in a drain for a few days.

    Afraid of refusal!

I was also at around a 40 BMI and was scared to lose any weight around my first appt with my doctor. In fact, I gained a few pounds just to make sure I stayed above 40. People said the same to me as well. They don't understand how it feels to look in the mirror and not be happy with yourself. I went through with the surgery 10 days ago and do not regret it. If you meet the requirements of your insurance company, they will not deny you. Good luck!

    Multi-Vitamin struggles

I thought we couldn't swallow pills at this point. I heard of people taking Flintstone multis which I think would taste better than these. Im desperate to try something different.
  12. I have the same issue. I feel a discomfort but i thought it was gas pains so I kept drinking/eating. Im low on protein and liquids and need to consume more so sometimes I kinda fight through the feeling. I guess I shouldnt do that since theres a chance it can stretch my new sleeve. Im glad Im not the only one.
  13. Hi guys, Im ten days out of sleeve surgery and get nauseous every time I take my multi-vitamin. I bought the Bariatric Advantage chewable and I no longer can stomach the chalky taste. I tried to mix it with jello but still get nauseous. My calcium chews have been great but I dont think I can continue these multis. Any suggestions?
