  1. Current weight: 166 goal weight: 143 🤐😝
  2. I know how you feel! And I've come back here to find some support and motivation. I'm an Aussie so not great at comparing pounds to kg's. I am 30 yrs old and was 109kg at my biggest (I'm a little shorty), 101kgs at surgery on 27 April 2015. I lost the weight really easily and didn't excercise throughout the weight loss (Bad habit to develope). I got down to 69.8kg at my very best. Since then I have crept up to 74.5. I feel so unfit in myself and as I had a lot of loose skin, I never looked good naked. Now I just feel the same as I did before the surgery. I have developed really bad food habits. I eat biscuits and chocolate and chips and I know I definitely don't eat enough vegetables. I still generally don't actually get hungry very often. But I now really struggle with reflux. I was on pariet for a couple of years but really wanted to get off it so no longer take it. And I find I get really acidly if I don't eat for quite a while. So I just eat anything and everything to tide over the reflux. So, on the positive, and why I'm here, I'm really keen to get healthier and fitter and back down on the scales (65kg is my goal). I like the idea of lean protein and veggies (refined carbs really do make the reflux worse so I don't really eat much bread). I need some breakfast motivation. I'm not a sweet tooth in the morning (generally not really hungry at all). Do you have any good breakfast ideas? sorry I can't be much help, other than then you're not alone!

    Low carb rash

Wow! I'm not alone I developed a rash on my back about a week ago. insanely itchy!! I thought maybe i was having an allergic reaction to my anti-reflux meds but when I stopped taking them it didn't go away and when I started up again it didn't get any worse. Then I thought some weird bugs had got under my shirt and bitten me. Now I'm thinking it might be what all you guys are experiencing. I hope it goes away soon!!

    'Bi' the Way!

As a person that probably fits into the 'bi' category I know how confusing it can be. I have always been big and in my younger years I tended to have relationships with other women. I think this may have been because I felt more comfortable with women... While in the last few years I have 'straightened out' so to speak and been with men. I feel this may be to do with my development as an adult, being more self assured and accepting my ...um... open(?) sexuality.?? ...I really don't know... However, since my surgery (even though it was only a month ago) and having lost 15kg (or 35ish(?) pounds in your speak ) I am feeling more confident in myself and have found myself attracted to women again. I've probably been no help to you at all but maybe just take out of all of it that you don't have to conform to any one sexuality label ('bi' included). Sexuality is more of a spectrum rather than distinct groups. I hope your girlfriend is open about such things and that you can talk freely about your feelings. The worst thing for you is to have to hide it. I know I've got it pretty easy as guys love the idea of bi girls and it seems socially more acceptable for girls to be bi than guys. whatever you do, you need to be honest with her and with yourself. You never know... she may just be willing to explore your sexuality with you
  5. I haven't had any restriction on me regarding coffee. They served it to me in hospital the day after surgery (without milk for the first couple of days). I don't drink as much of it now as I used to and tend to only have half a cup. It's something I'm glad I never had to give up.
  6. Fluids, fluids, fluids! You really need to focus on your hydration especially if your BP is getting low. Don't stress too much about Protein and calorie goals at this stage just do your best to eat what your body will let you and most importantly, drink!! If your dizzy spells are getting serious then maybe have a chat to your doctor about it. They will probably ask you things like: do you drink enough Water? are you standing up too fast? Just take you time and let your body adjust... it's going through some massive changes at the moment and may just need a bit of time to fine tune itself. Keep the exercise gentle until your body adjusts. You can even drink your water while you're walking
  7. What makes you sick one week might sit fine with you the next. Also remember everyone is totally different. Everybody's little Frankensleeve has a different personality so it's really hard to judge what your little monster will handle until you try it. Just try lots of stuff in small amounts and even if it makes you sick, i suggest to try it again in a couple of weeks and see how you go. My tolerances are constantly changing as i get further post-op (nearly 4 wks now)

    Two week stall?

I was sleeved on the 27th April and had stalled for the last nearly 2 weeks. I stopped weighing myself for a bit and finally today I have dropped half a kilogram. Just don't focus on the scales for a while and concentrate on drinking and eating and it will pass. Try not to let it get you down (I know it's hard)

    Let's talk Fruits!

The plan from my dietitian seems to have a very different focus to what I'm seeing on here. I don't have this overhanging push to smash the Protein. Yes, they want me to eat protein where possible, but there is a much greater focus on a balanced diet as long as the foods I eat have nutritional value. Some fruits, especially things like berries, are jam packed with Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other good stuff while also being quite low carb. I believe its so much better to get vitamins and minerals from the fruit and veg you eat rather than from a tablet.

    Constipation

It's been a week since my last poop . My weight has also stalled for the last week (apparently its called the "week 3 stall"). I really feel that if I can get my bowels moving more, the weight will also move. i got some Benefibre yesterday so am starting on that and also really working to up my Water intake (as I really don't think I've been drinking enough) Hopefully this works

    Dinner invitations...

I'm still working this one out. I'm 3.5 weeks post-op (surgery on 27th April). I declined a dinner invitation to a friends house last night as I didn't want to cause a hassle once I was there. I didn't know what she was planning on cooking and didn't want to be rude by just picking pathetically at her food. 3 of my very close friends know I've had the surgery (one of which had a VSG done a bit over 12 months ago) and they are really understanding but I'm generally not telling everybody. I did attend 3 days of training last week for work where lunch was supplied. I was nervous about how that would go. On the first day I brought some soup with me but didn't end up eating it. Luckily it was a lot of little finger foods so my pathetically empty plate went less noticed as many people were going back for many rounds of little things. I managed to find some things I could eat - some veggie fritatta (which I did A LOT of picking at)... ate a bit of the egg and some of the veggies that were soft enough... and actually managed 1/4 of an egg sandwich (i was surprised by this as bread isn't introduced for weeks yet).. and some slices of kiwi fruit. I basically spent the whole time chewing.. I figured if I turned it into soup in my mouth then I should handle it ok. And that theory pretty much worked We have a social club dinner with work tomorrow night at a pub. I would like to go but know it will be a challenge. the meals will be huge so my little pickings wont make any indent on them at all.. That's if I can find something to pick at in the first place :/

    Traveling sleevers

I don't know how far your travels will be as I'm an Aussie with very little knowledge of US geography :S ... but I traveled 3.5 hours by car for my op. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at all. I spent 2 nights in hospital after my surgery and was feeling pretty good at discharge. I just used the time to sip my Water slowly while my mother drove the car. I was comfortable sitting up and the benefit of your own car is that you have the flexibility to stop whenever you need and get up and stretch (or check into a hotel for the night if you can't tolerate any more travelling for the day). I used my house renovation savings for the surgery. My new roof will just have to wait a bit longer because my health is more important to me than a leaky roof. I'm in my 4th week post-op now and have absolutely no regrets. Definitely worth the cost for a new lease on life Congrats on making the decision. It took me over a year to finally decide to do it while I watched one of my friends shrink down to the stunning figure that she has now.

    4 days post op.....

Stay strong! You will start to feel better soon. I wasn't wiped out quite so much after surgery as you but really struggled with getting the fluids in. It took me a good week and a half to be able to sip Water without getting the twisting, gurgling feeling. I found the first 2 weeks tough as I could never seem to stomach the same thing more than once. I found miso Soup to be a really great option. It contains a bit of Protein (even if only a little) and it was a pleasant relief from all the sweet things that seem to take on a liquid form much better than savoury things. I'm just over 3 weeks post-op now (surgery on 27th April) and finding it easier every day. Good luck and congratulaions and stay focussed on the long term results!!

    Goodbye to beer and pizza?

I'm just over 3 weeks post-op and I found it funny how much I was craving pizza, especially in the first 2 weeks after surgery. I've never been a big sweet tooth and really struggled with the first couple of weeks as most easy fluids to get down are sweet. I so desperately wanted savory food. I was salivating while watching a pizza ad on TV. But now that I'm able to eat soft foods the cravings have settled down. If you do end up craving a savory liquid in the early post-op days I found miso Soup to really hit the spot I haven't tried any carbonated drinks yet. I have a friend who had her sleeve done just over a year ago and she says she still cant handle fizz. But everyone's different good luck!

    Stalling so soon?

THIS IS ME TO A TEE!!! I also had my surgery on April 27th. I'm so glad I found this thread. I came on here looking for so inspiration/answers as I have sat at the same weight for over a week. It's been so frustrating!! I know i need to drink more Water and I think get some Benefibre into me to get the bowels going a bit more regularly. I'll stay off the scales for a week and will hopefully see some change. Thanks for the reassurance
