Hello Everyone, I'm Kim from Mphs /Pre-OpI'm at the beginning of my journey. I've had my doctor start the process and been to the seminar that explains each surgery. I've spoken with my insurance company, Amerigroup Medicare. They stated that they DO cover bariatric surgery. I'm 254/5'6" with HBP, Diabetes, RA, chronic back pain and depression.I've only been on Medicare for a year or so. So I'm not sure how the pre-qualification process will play out? Anyways, been overweight most of adult life. Except for approximately 6 years, broken time frame...long enough to get a husband! Stayed around 190-205 mostly. Last 5 years have been over 225. Yo-yo dieter with no real time with keeping weight off. Not a huge eater. Biggest problem is carbs, snacking and lack of exercise. Depression usually the culprit. I do have experience with surgery. 2 C-Sections, 3 hernia repairs/last with a huge mesh and grommets, tubal ligation, gall bladder removed. I would love for the sleeve to be my last. I really know that this tool will be a life saVer for me. I need something to keep me on track. The weight loss itself would help tremendously with exercise. Anyways, I pray God will bless this endeavor and I can have the support of those who've gone before me to help. I look forward to making new friends along the way.
