My surgery is on June 17th. I plan to start my pre-op on June 1st. My diet will be 2-3 Protein shakes per day plus 1 healthy meal which includes chicken or fish and a salad w/ lowfat dressing or certain vegies. The third shake is if I am still feeling hungry, along with a very small amount of greek yogurt, sliced cheese, almonds, etc as a snack. I will stick to 2 Protein Shakes and 1 light meal each day if possible. I don't plan to eat more than that unless I am really starving ! I am getting nervous now that my surgery is just around the corner. This site has helped me tremendously.

I've been a coffee drinker for almost 30 years. When I was in my 20's, I easily drank 5 cups per day. In my 30's, I committed to 2 cups per day maximum. I also drink a strong cup. A weak cup of coffee to me is like drinking Water. In the past month, I have been working on 1 cup per day and that alone is difficult. My surgery is in about 3 weeks. How on earth am I going to give up coffee ? I love my coffee. Not to mention, it's what keeps me "regular." I'm afraid if I stop cold turkey for surgery, not only will I be constipated naturally due to surgery, but also because I'm not having what my body is used to. Here I am concerned about my coffee, and not my pre-op diet. I would appreciate any advice from my fellow serious coffee drinkers !

American accredited facilities?

Here is another link http://myflorencehealth.com/index.html I will be there mid-June -
My husband is coming with me and we will be at florence hospital and the hospital hotel June 16th - June 21st I am also a forum stalker. It is in my nature to research, research, research- especially something as big as this ! I was originally going to have the surgery done in Fort Worth at the self-pay price of 11k. I would have been willing to pay that price if the surgeons were far better here than in Mexico, but I just don't see a difference and it seems that the experience in Mexico (with the right surgeon/hospital) may even be better. I guess we'll see ! Mine is June 17th with Dr. Zavalza

I also had a spine injury and it has also affected my life. Many don't understand until they go through it, just like being heavy and not feeling in control. Having a physical limitation and/or disability on top of weight issues is like a double whammy. Whatever choice you make, its not about them, its about you. My husband had the gastric sleeve procedure 2 years ago and it saved his life. I am having the procedure in 3 weeks. What part of Texas are you in ?

Frankensleeve - lol ! Interesting, so its possible it may not even be an issue as my stomach may reject it... In reading the posts, I think I will look into Click Protein shake just in case following surgery as Soapandcandlequeen posted above. Thank you, I appreciate the info

I had never heard of Click Protein Shake until now. I checked it out on Amazon. Looks good ! I am wondering, since the caffeine is mixed with the protein shake if it will be better on my stomach...

I think this will be my plan. Thank you. I'm feeling a bit more positive about it now.

This post makes me very happy Did you drink coffee all the way up to your surgery or stop during your pre-op?

Doctor Lopez Shut Down For Illegally Operating?
SharonTX replied to AustinJackson's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
That's social media for you. It can be a fantastic resource but it can also be a disaster. A great way to ruin the reputation of a perfectly good surgeon. I'm new on here, but people need to seriously calm down. -
Thank you for the information ! am now considering Elias Ortiz, Ariel Ortiz, Lousiana Valenzuela or Dr ponce de leon. My list has expanded. Haha ! I plan to make a decision in the next week. But so far I am feeling that any of these doctors would do a good job. I worked in the medical field for 18 years but not as a nurse...Admin. Thank you for all you do ! Being a nurse is a tough job !

I am in Fort Worth ! I am considering Dr. Stowers via My Bariatric Solutions. Please message me or direct me to anything you have posted regarding your experience with him. I am considering Dr. Stowers or maybe even Dr Louisiana Valenzuela in Mexico.
