  1. I don't have a surgery date yet but thank you for sharing your experience so far. I find it helpful.

Thank you @RVav. I'd love to be support buddies with you. I'm on my second week of 'behaving'. I think I'll be ok now. It just took so much to get started. I lost 100 lbs abt 5 yrs ago but put it back on. Then lost 75 last yr and had put back on 25 before starting this journey. I think I was just so burnt out.

Well not great. I lost 75 lbs last year/first of this year and I'm so burned out with it all. Im in my second month of the diet. The first month I didn't lose any which in reality I lost like 6 lbs but it was weight u had gained while on vacation and managed to get back down to where I started. This month I've do the same. I'm back down the that start weight and still have two weeks before weigh in time. I keep sabotaging myself. I'm so frustrated. How abt you?

Day 6 after sleeve - am I OK?

I know very little as I'm just beginning the pre-op Journey but you could be dehydrated. It can cause all those symptoms you mentioned. Glad ur seeing ur dr tomorrow. Let us know what he says.
  6. I haven't tried some of these but wanted to say thanks for the chuckles. It's both crazy and sad what lengths we will go to lose weight. Here's to ending the madness....

@@newme I'm in the same boat. It will be about Nov-Dec for me too. I see the cardiologist today and have my EDG on the 22nd. I'm almost one month in on my 6 mo diet. I don't have BCBS tho so can't help you there however, my surgeons office won't start the process with patients unless they are sure they can get them approved. I'm older then you also. I'm 55. I've put off WLS forever bc my youngest daughter is disabled and I was afraid something would happen to me and I wouldn't be here to care for her. Now with the sleeve option I feel more confident. And at 55 I feel like I have to do something or I won't be here to care for her. My husband is having it done also. He's 8 yrs older then me. Has more issues bc of his weight. He's heavier and shorter so he's going first. Good luck on your journey. ????

    Water

I already love water (pre-op) and have no problem drinking 72 ozs a day. I hope that doesn't change post-op!

    My first visit

Thank you for that response. I'm not normally afraid of stuff but for some reason I have been lately. I canceled another procedure unrelated to WLS last month bc I just couldn't go through with it. I hope mine is as easy as yours for sure. My youngest daughter had a severe stomach bleed a few yrs ago and we almost lost her. She had to have two separate scopes done. Maybe my anxiety is bubbling up from that.

    My first visit

Well I had my first visit today. It went well. I suppose I'm very healthy. No ailments and I don't take any meds. The nurse practitioner said I was boring health wise and that boring was good. Lol My surgeon does require I have an EGD done. I'm a little nervous. Can anyone share what it was like for them?

What will the physical entail? I mean as a female if you know what I mean. I keep up on my yearly gyn visits. I won't have to go that far will I? Lol
  13. I have my first visit this week. It's only the history and physical part but what can I expect? Anything I should know? Excited to finally be starting the process.
  14. I have watched others have bypass surgery. Some did well. Some had strokes and one died. I could t risk it. I have a special needs daughter who needs me. She requires help with every aspect of life and I have to be here for her. Then one day I woke up and I was 55 yrs old and I realized the tables had turned. I just might not be here for her one day. I learned about the sleeve and have decided it was the least risky and the right choice for me.

@@Inner Surfer Girl. That's my surgeon too. We must live near each other. Actually I live behind the hospital just a couple blocks away.
