Skipped getting fills during December. Went back and told my PA I thought I was in green zone, She wanted to see me one more time to make sure every thing was on before releasing me for a year. First off I told her I was comfortable but not losing weight. She went ahead and injected me with a small amount. She said some people live with between 5-8 cm. what I have as of yesterday is 5.56cm, Today I feel like everything including tea is bubbling in my throat. Some parts of the day is fine..eating ..no indigestion then other time it feels like I am having trouble getting even liquid to go down..I am still on soft food from 2nd day injection..Is this something I need to bring to attention of the doctor...Will it go away since it has been about 2 months since fill? Your Comments would be appreciated Lapband 5/4/15

Thank you so much for your reply B-52. You are right it is a learning process, I don't think they will fill any more as she had me to swallow with the liquid and then without. Now just wondering if I need to get the all clear from the doctor to schedule out for a year. With this last bit of fill, I hardly ever get really hungry and now have to remind myself to either eat or drink a shake. Oh and on that very first bite to chew chew chew..and wetter is better! So next appointment is 12/16 so maybe they will tell me then I don't have to come back.. Thanks again for your confirmation that I am on the right track Diane -
Have had my last "paid" appointment with my doctor. I have about 5 cc in my band, I have an appointment 12/16. I don't know if I need my band tighter or if I want them to just check my band with the x=ray to make sure I haven't don't anything like stretching it or screwing it up. Prior to this last fill, it seemed everything I put in my mouth had me hacking it back up. Since this fill, I have truly worked diligently to eat smaller portions and chew chew chew..so way less getting stuck. My thing is have I screwed anything up and should I keep this appointment before being launched on my 1 year post surgery. How would I know if I have done any thing wrong. I did go thru a period of eating more than I should (I think) but not feeling any discomfort. I know I have gotten off my diet and ate more than I should as well as drink wine during the holidays..How would I know if I have screwed up anything? My plan is to keep my appointment, not get a fill and just have them assure me all is still going well

Julie, Thank you for your reply..even though I have been drinking the tea since forever (and my surgery was 5/4/15) I decided today to make myself start drinking water as much as I can...I bought a ton of crystal light but meh..my tea tastes better..LOL

I have a question..(had 2nd fill yesterday and forgot to ask). I have never been just a plain Water drinker. I do drink tons of decaf tea. They probably sounds silly but is that as sufficient as the water? I remember in the pre-op stage they said you can substitute crystal light so wouldn't decaf iced tea with artificial sweeter be ok? As long as we are hydrating?

I had my first fill on 5/28. 2cc was added to my band. As of today, I am still unsure if I am eating correctly. I get hungry and when I eat, I stop eating while I am still a little hungry thinking I may be eating too much. Then I am getting hunger pangs about 3 hours again. Am I eating too little? I heard that the fill doesn't work "right a way'. If that is the case how long does it take to start effecting how much or how little I eat.

Had my first fill 2cc on Thursday 5/28. So far I cant tell anything changed. Is that normal?

Thanks KateP..I go in Thursday and cross fingers that it wont interfere with my fill.

Surgery date 5/4/15. In the past week I have started having pain in the right side of my chest. It is a sorta short stabbing sort of pain that I can sometimes feel front and back (or at least it feels that way) and I have it whether I eat or not. Has anyone else had this? I go for my first fill on Thursday and I don't want anything to interfere with that.

Oh my gosh I am going thru the same thing. Surgery 5/4 and my first fill is 5/28. I was doing good until this week an now I am having to eat several times a day. I try to stick to the protein shakes or yogurt. Kinda looking forward to the first fill although a little scared too.

10 days post op and experiencing tremendous amount of gas
Dianetx posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone I am 10 days post op and doing great with the exception of experiencing a tremendous amount of gas everyday. I originally thought it might be the soy in the shakes but I have progressed beyond the shakes and only drink one occasionally. Is this normal and what if anything have you found helps?
