Hi everyone,
I'm 34 years old. I live in Long Island, NY. I'm happily married to my husband for almost 3 years. I have a 6 month old baby. All is well in my life, save for my weight.
A little about myself. I have been dealing with my weight issues since I was about 5. My parents took me to nutritionists, psychologists and doctors to try to help manage my weight. I did not have any traumatic events happen. I just really like food and was not interested in activities as kid. I'm not sure if it was just a way of protecting myself from bullies?? Kids can be very mean. My weight continued to increase throughout my adolescence. High school and college were rough. I had the lap band installed in 2001. I was successful in my weight loss. However, the port disconnected in 2003. I had revisionary surgery to correct that. The port again disconnected in 2010. At that point, I decided to have it removed. I thought I beat the obesity monster. Well, here I am, five years later, heavier than I was when I had the lap band put in. I have been researching online and through books and have decided to get the sleeve. I'm now looking for a good surgeon with great support.
I look forward to reading all of your posts!
