2nd day of my liquid diet and im having headaches!..not sure if its because im not getting my coffee or im having food withdrawal?

This was my concern too when i started my journey march 2015..i asked same question and according to my surgeon they submit the very first bmi visit to ur insurance!...it doesnt matter if u lose weight or not during ur 3rd month visit or ur 6 month visit.

I aint gonna lie but i know how u feel!...ughh waiting is a TORTURE!

My surgery date is nov 9 and i started my liquid nov 2...my dr said i only have to do my liquid diet for 7 days....yesterday, i did my ekg and registration in the hospital and im good to go!...i waited 7 months for this moment and im now very excited and ready for monday!....i cant wait to sit on "the losers bench"!...best wishes to y'all!

Congrats on ur approval!...After doing my 6 months wait, I was also approved on september 30th for Gastric bypass and i have bcbs...and we closed on our first home too the same day!!..it was a double celebration for me and my family!...my surgery is November 9!..im superrrrr excited!

Hi kayjay14!...i just got my approval today!...yeayyyyyyy to me! i know we go to same doctor and i see that ur scheduled oct 28 - CONGRATS!.....question, is that the first availability that dr sharp has?...or u picked this date for you?....lol i waited 6 months and i just wanna gitt-err-dunn! U know what i mean!..i just wanna know if they have an early opening date before oct 28?

Ughhh im soooo nervous!...i started my journey march 2015 and my surgeon submitted my paper works around may and was denied stating "contract exclusion"...not sure what this denial mean?....i was told it has to do something with 6months supervised with my surgeon?...anyone knows?...or does anyone has BCBS of SC? Nways, i just completed my 6 month weight in sept 8, 2015 and im super nervous that my insurance will deny again????????

U would think all bcbs plans are d same but its not!..if ur bcbs homeplan is nc its a different jurisdiction and nc bcbs does not require 6 months weight in...eh sc bcbs requires it.... Btw just is case u dont know yet, you can sign up to mybcbstoolkit.com as a bcbs member and u will see ur approval status there everyday instead of waiting for a call or a letter in mail...lol i log in everyday to see if its already approved...if not appeoved, it should say pending or denied. Also does anyone here uses cpap machine?..will the insurance check the sd card to see if we r really using it?. Lol sometimes i dont like to read stuff in here specially when i read and see other ppol having same issue or worse experiences with their insurances...lol it stresses me out more when i read other ppols negative experiences.....it sucks cuz we pay our insurances and when we need their aid, they try to scrutinize everything!.,,ughhh!...killing me!...the wait is bad enough and then more hurdles from insurances!...

Mine is a lil bit confusing but its really the clause that my compnay has on our benefits...my homeplan is bcbs of florida but we work here in nc. We submit all medical claims to bcbs of nc but our company follows bcbs south carolina guidelines cuz its cheaper for them!...ya i know i thought my paper works will be file to nc and will follow the bcbs nc requirements which is no wait and no cluase on benefits!....so basically, bcbs nc benefits and requirement is much easier than ac bcbs..... I found this out when during my first denial....this is why i have to do the 6 months because it is required by SC BCBS requirements unlike NC bcbs!...i just really hope they dont give me a hard time this time cuz i completed my 6months and all other stuff from dr sharps requirements.

Did u have to do 6 months?...how long uve been waiting for ur approval?..when did u complete your requirements?....what insurance do u have?...ya dr sharp is super nice but our the surgery coordinator has to do their job too and not sure if they are 100% on our paperworks...thats why i went there cuz they said they have the best insurance specialist thats on top if all paper works..the first denial i have i feel like they didnt do alot of research before they submitted to my insurance thats y i was denied...their reply was like oh i never "worked on such insurance like ur"...im like ok but my insurance is like one of fhe common out there...bcbs!

I will have mine at UNC Rex Hospital!...but i just finished my 6months weight in tuesday and paper works should be on its way for insurance submission and im soo nervous!...i was denied already on my 3rd month weight in for "contract exclusion"....ughhh im sooo worried it will deny again????

Hi kayjay! Bcbs of nc is ur homeplan?

Not sure but It says on that calendar family and friends are welcome...i guess you can say your a friend of a friend that goes there...they are pretty nice over there...just call em and ask im sure they will allow u to come in even if ur going to a different surgeon...or dont say that ur with cary wake med and just say that ur considering to have a WLS and that u just started the journey and that u wanna go all the support group first...

K if u go to patient tab then select support group and it will give u the calendar...heres the july calendar

Wait let me try to see the new schedule but thats the website of my surgeons and all support group dates should be there.

You can even sign up for a grocery tour and the nutritionist will be the one to go and guide you with what food to buy and what not...this grocery tour is limited due to grocery policy so its a first come first serve to sign up..so if u dont get to sign up like lets say today then u can just sign up for the following scheduled date...

The seminar at rex at lake boon trail where my surgeons are omg lots of ppol all d time...i havent seen soooo many obese ppol in my life in one room!...the group meetings like the cooking class, nutrition class, shake tasting classes are always jammed packed!....there will be like 20-30 ppol in the class learning and listening to patients with their pre/post op experiences...its a great support group to go...there will be like 4-6 speakers that had surgeries and they tell us their experiences...even the one that did my psychology test dr. Shuttuck was also a patient and he went to d same doctor as im with now!...
