    Anyone from Jersey?!

Hey Laurie! I'm about 5 weeks post op and I just moved to Morristown so my exercise right now has been moving and unpacking. Lol. I'm going to join a retro fitness in parsippany, but I have a bunch of dvd's I wanted to do also if you're interested? I have the t25 program (which is intense but can be modified) and I think insanity (which I'm def not able to do anytime soon haha). I also have Zumba and dance videos which I figured would be a fun way to start. Thoughts?

    I just want to CHEW

LOL well, I just took the sugar free Jello i have in the fridge (the ready made store bought kind- yes it's allowed!) and stuck them in the freezer out of desperation. Science project or amazing? Stay tuned...
  8. Just a quick venting moment... I'm on Day 5467 of the preop diet... okay fine- day 10/14, it just feels like forever. My preop diet is all liquid Protein ONLY. No solids for 14 days. I am ALMOST there, and my surgeon actually advances your diet quickly, so there is an end in sight. BUT I JUST WANT TO CHEW. I've chewed gum and spit it out. I want to crunch something. I miss pickles. Okay I sound crazy, just needed to share!

I am a cheap date! NSV

So here's a question, for those of you who aren't married and are still dating... how do you deal with going on dates and literally only being able to eat 2 shrimp as your meal? What do you tell people? Anyone have any experience with this?
  10. Hi everyone! I feel like I'm writing an online dating profile. Anyway, I'm currently living in Florida and having my surgery this coming Tuesday. EEEEEKKKKK! I'll be moving to NJ 2 weeks after surgery (I KNOW I'M NUTS). I would love someone who has been there, done that and bought the small t-shirt to show me the ropes and be a mentior! Any takers?!

    Started my Preop Diet...

So interestingly enough, I've had migraines since I was 6 years old and this didn't even cross my mind before starting the preop diet (or even when considering wls). This may be TMI, but my migraines are triggered by a number of things but I can at least count on one every month with hormonal changes lol. If I were to get a migraine this month it would/should have coincided with day 3 of my preop diet. Shockingly I didn't even realize I didn't have one because I've been so focused on doing well on the diet. When you posted this I realized that this is the ABSOLUTE FIRST month I have NOT had a hormonal migraine. Now, my average cal consumption on the diet has been 700-900 (I promise you thats the lowest amount I have ever willingly consumed lol), and I have yet to have a migraine. I hope this gives you some comfort! And I've said it before and I'll say it again... if you're eating >100mg protein, physically you will most likely NOT feel hungry, mentally you will. You can do it!

    Started my Preop Diet...

I start my preop diet on Monday... R preop shakes per day for 14 days. That's it. Feeling some doubt right now but constantly reading these forums so I can keep my eyes on the end game. Hey! If I'm on day 5 of 14 and still going strong, so can you! I'm the girl who loves wine every night and sitting down with papa johns. If I've got this... YOU'VE got this!

    Pre-op diet is a b***h

THIS!!! Now that I'm not eating all the time I'm reflecting on everything. I'm actually happy to be on this all protein shake preop diet because it really does start preparing you mentally for what to expect after the surgery. In all honesty I've taken in 800-1000 calories and anywhere from 80g-130g of protein these past 3 days and I am not PHYSICALLY hungry. Mental hunger on the other hand... I understand what people are talking about when they say head hunger and how much of a mental/emotional challenge this is. I'm really glad I'm tackling it now versus after surgery when my body will be stressed as well. Any good book recommendations for overcoming these mental/emotional issues? So folks, day 4 of 14 and still going strong. Love synthrax nectar proteins, protidiet fruit drink and wonderslim pudding/shake mixes. Just placed an order for some protein soups, will keep ya'll posted. Stay strong and keep on drinking!
