I am also 5 days post-op and I have had a horrible time of it - First I had an allergic reaction to the pain medication so had to go off that. Yes the gas is horrible but a heating pad and gas-x thin strips do help.. but to top it all off I woke up with a massage head cold this morning which has set me back about 3 days I figure. They kept telling me how important it is to start walking at least 30 minutes a day and up until yesterday I had no energy whatsoever to do that, sore and very tired. I then had some pureed spinach and thought okay, tomorrow I will start but now I am on my back with this headache to beat the band and a body that feels like it has been trampled on. Luckly I have the rest of this week off and I am hoping to start moving around very soon. Sorry to sound like a downer but I am still waiting for that feeling of - Yeah I did the right thing! One good thing about all this - no real hunger to speak of and getting full on very little. Here's hope for all of us.

Hi Nan, I think I will have to pass on the Wednesday coffee as I am not recuperating as well as one would have hoped. It looks like I will be off work for the week as I developed an allergy to the pain medication which caused me to swell up with a fever and the dreaded vomiting which I so hoped to avoid. This morning I woke up and proceeded to immediately vomit for no reason. I am off the Statin and just on Tylenol which seems to be doing the trick somewhat. Did you also experience alot of pain when burping? Almost like something is stuck but that is virtually impossible as all I have had is Clear liquids. I don't know - not a very good patient I guess. I cannot imagine how any of you got up and started exercising right away - I have zero energy. I am hoping that I will be feeling well enough for the 9th at Chances R so please put me down as a yes for now. Cheers girls - This has got to get better. Agnes

I am not wanting to be a whiner but Yeah - I will be calling the clinic on Monday as I am now also taking Immodium - not feeling well. What are thin strips? Can hardly wait for these two weeks to be over!!!! Agnes

Well girls I had my consultation yesterday and I am booked for Jan.24 at 9:30 a.m. It was my first day of slim fast and I am starving big time and have soooooooo much gas I am not sure what to do. Did anyone else have that problem pre-op? I am thinking maybe some Gas-ex will help! Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. BTW - Can anyone walk me through setting up the weight Loss ticker? Cheers, Agnes

Well Girls, It was great meeting all of you this morning. I am more psyched than ever to start on this incredible journey. I learned alot and am looking forward to a continuing supportive relationship with everyone. I start my liquid diet on Friday soooo I should be really ready for Jan, 24th. I will be there on Saturday! You cannot make a reservation at Denny's so my suggestion would be that we all meet at the front doors at 10:30 and then we can get a table that would accommodate all of us. Any Thoughts? I think this might be the same Dr. S. Miller that has a practice in Montreal as Carmella, his assistant had mentioned that he works out of Drummondville as well. This is good news, that you highly recommend him What can you tell me, I only go January 10th for the consultation and then on Jan. 24th for the procedure but would love to hear what your experiences were. Hi All: I cannot say what the experience is like however I will be banded in Montreal on January 24th. The name of the Doctor is Steven Miller and the private clinic is called SPA DIVA Medical on Peel Street. The cost is $16,000 and it is not covered by OHIP so..... I will be in debt for awhile however, I have been reading through all these posts and everyone sounds very positive about the procedure so I hope to experience the same. If anyone knows of this doctor and can give me more information, I would appreciate it. I have only met him once at a seminar, my consultation is on January 10th and they have already given me my surgery date. I will keep you posted after the consultation on further thoughts.:clap2:

I know what you are feeling. I will be banded on January 24th and I am scared out of my mind. I am wondering how I will get through the 2 weeks pre-banding liquid diet as I am always hungry and cannot see that Slim Fast 3 times a day will satisfy me. I also had to take out a loan which will take me 5 years to pay off - I hope this will work for me.
