Hello, I am 3 weeks post-op and doc said I can start jogging if I have enough energy. I haven't tried but yesterday my toddler ran into the street and I tried to run/jog after him and four steps in I had to stop. Thankfully someone helped me out. I had pain on my left side and my abs really hurt. I'm assuming it's weakness but I was hoping to start working out in a week or two (I've been walking a few miles every other day so far) but now I feel like I will not be able to do anything beyond walking for another month. Thoughts or experiences anyone can share? Thanks

I guess I can finally answer my own post. Lol Just did first 5k straight slow jog on treadmill. Things do get better and you just push past your own limitations in your mind. I can also catch my own brat. The first five weeks post op were a real transition time.

I'm thinking we eventually will get new bands, maybe even go on a real honeymoon once I reach goal. Lol

When did you introduce carbs?
Gaelsmom replied to WPBFoodie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At 5 weeks post op, I was struggling to workout due to fatigue. Doc told me to add a banana before the workout. I only do carbs pre-workout but can only take in 1/4 of banana. Last week I had half a kind bar which has 5 grams of sugar. I had my best workout so far. If I'm not working out, I don't add carbs. Also I tried a few spoonfuls of rice at 6 weeks and my new tummy cannot tolerate. Yuck. -
Hello Fall! Does anyone have any goals, NSV's especially for fall?
Gaelsmom replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Like inner surfer girl, it won't be this year. I'm two months post op next week. I am training to run my first 5k November 21st. During this process, I hope to fit into old clothes in my closet, and donate the rest. I have already felt more energetic than ever and have been looking to do fun things with my husband and 3 year old. This weekend we are going pumpkin picking and lots of fun things at the farm for him and his friends. I used to not want to participate in things because I was embarrassed by my size, my inability to keep up and I used to eat enough to be in food coma. Bring on fall and really excited by next years prospects. Once I reach goal, I want to visit a southern state and get me a pair of cowboy boots!!! -
There's lot of discussions in health forums and generally speaking sugar is sugar. Your body doesn't differentiate between maple syrup or agave. Use very little of whatever you want and it will be fine.

I like xylitol. It doesn't have aftertaste or side effects. It's also not sweet.

Ran my first 5K this morning. Yay me! Victory Dance pic included.

Hi any August sleeve groups on FB or workout/sleeve groups? Thanks

With the amount of calories being ingested, it would be difficult to actually add muscle mass. The great thing you would be doing is stopping any further muscle mass breakdown in your body. When you lose 1lb, not all of it is fat. Some is muscle. It's best not to lose the muscle and have the skinny fat problem.

230.9. Hoping to break under the 230s by next week.

#carole61. I had surgery two weeks after you. At a 2.5 week stall. Lost about the same, barely get in carbs and workout consistently. But as others have posted, my old clothes fit. I'm just hoping the scale catches up to that. I'm trying to not depend on the scale as my only source. It really screws with your head.

Congrats!!! Soon enough that dress will need to replaced with a smaller one.

It may be head hunger but I crave something I know is easily accessible at home. I put it in my mouth but the minute I start chewing I just spit it out into the garbage. I have never acted this way. Anyone else go through something like this?

I'm craving carbs. So I did this with a spoon of rice and I piece of mozzarella with prosciutto. I haven't gone to the sugar which was my high addiction.

Monday weigh in 233.7

Anyone get super shaky after morning workouts pre-food? Doc told me to have a banana or some banana with protein pre-workout. I have been struggling to workout. My muscles are super tight. I'm 5 weeks post op but haven't had any carbs along the way. I am struggling to eat 400 cals. Any suggestions or daily food intake from anyone who runs or workouts would be greatly appreciated.

Post Op and soooooo many questions!
Gaelsmom replied to shoppedude's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It took me quite some time to lose the 10 or so pounds I gained from IV fluids. The weight will drop soon. -
I would love to join in. 235.5

Hi all, So I was sleeved 1.5 weeks ago. I tend to be a pear shape and when I lose weight it goes from the top. I feel like I'm losing starting at the bottom half, with the belly now seemingly bigger over thigh area. Anyone experience this post sleeve? I'm not complaining about thigh reduction but just wondering if it's a figment of my imagination or not. Thanks Rita
