Avoiding eating with others because I need to eat slowly

I eat slower by putting my spoon or fork down. if after 20 minutes I am still eating, I stop.

Agreed...put your fork or spoon down and sit back to chew.

I also use more of my time in between forkfuls to have conversations with others. I have actually enjoyed more mealtime with others because I eat slowly and eat so little.
