@Missjaqui- hi! I work in redwood shores. Anytime you want to meet let me know! -
I eat sushi - no rice all the time. Started at about 1 month out. My place now makes spicy tuna with cucumber instead of rice as a regular on their menu. Crazy yummy...

Hi I'm from Northern California too. Tomorrow we're walking Russian Hill. Go google meet up.com. You will find a private group called San Francisco Bay area WL S. That's where we put our events. We're going to walk angel island in May. We're gonna bike around Angel Island in May. We plan something every other week. Direct message me if you cannot find it. Looking forward to meeting you. -
Water Nausea
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to DirtyyMelodies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not the bearer of bad news. I still cannot drink plain water without feeling nauseous or uncomfortable. I constantly flavor my water with fruit or those flavorings. I know it sucks but I meant when year and I still can't do water. -
not able to eat lunch with co-workers
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to bevewhite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find it amazing how much our conversations focused around food. My friends know that I've lost weight and know that I don't want to talk about food anymore. Fortunately you're early in the process of might be hard to have a conversation. Here's what I do at lunch we don't talk about food we talk about life and when someone brings the food I say can we not talk about food please. And that usually stops the conversation. Keep in mind none of my friends know about the surgery they all just know that I'm watching what i eat. Good luck. -

bread is one of the things my sleeve does NOT like. the only kind that has not come back is Dave's killer bread. That is 5g Protein so I each 1/2 slice with my egg in the morning. I agree - change is NEEDED with our diet. -
Hungry all the time!
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to Chioni.RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for some people (like me....) hunger is really dehydration. Try warm drink when you are hungry. See if that makes the hunger feeling go away. -

Having hard time getting food down
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to luchaniyaj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try softer foods... like sliced deli meat goes down easy. My first scrambled egg was very hard to go down - so at the beginning I did crushed hard boiled - that went down easier since they were small pieces. If you can, try softer Protein rich foods. Like protein Cookies (2 scoops Protein powder, 1 T pancake mix, 1 med banana crushed, 1/2 t baking soda and Water. Mix until wet - I make it a little runny. Form into cookies and bake 325 for 10 min - be careful not to overcook). These are nice and soft for my pouch. I also do the protein pudding from World According to eggface without the Protein Bars. http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2016/03/grasshopper-pie-premier-protein-pudding.html. -

jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to bypassdoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been baking my Protein lately. Protein Cookies (check Protein Cakery website) with banana and Protein Powder are awesome. Also making protein pudding (world according to eggface website) is very good too. Message me if you cannot find recipes. ~Jenn -

Calories
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to fling0228's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 1 months i was focused on 600 calories with 50-70 grams protein. So three high protein meals and one 30 g + protein shake. -
Unflavored (or preferably flavorless) protein powders
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to farooforever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi!!! I too have spent too much money and now I have 3 unflavored containers in the kitchen. Here is what I liked. 1) GNC unflavored if I was cooking (usually this is for oatmeal or stovetop cooking - like soups). 2) unjury if I was making a shake with lots of other flavors. Now I have learned that I like the quest flavors and use those to many of my foods now. Like I add vanilla when I make protein pudding. Chocolate and PB when I made my oatmeal now. And banana when I make pancakes. My last favorite unflavored has been Nectar. good luck. -

No period?!
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to merclondon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hi.... missing your first period if surgery is possible. I did.... then my next one was a BIG one (and really 3x bigger than I ever thought possible). So the hormones and changes in diet will cause all sorts of issues. One more note...we are super fertile with hormone changes. So watch when you start back in the bedroom. My ob suggestions extra protection until 1 year - just to be safe. -

Talking about Food
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello! I have been really struggling with my family / friends and my new forever diet (as my mother has been calling it). She still thinks, this is a diet instead of my new lifestyle. I have been working on how to talk to her and others about food. I recently read a post on Strong Girls. https://www.girlsgonestrong.com/social-sabotage-how-to-respond-to-criticism-about-your-food-and-exercise/?awt_l=pafau6&awt_m=3YIWG4kHZ5j4sIP It was fantastic and gave me many new ideas for having "the food" discussion with friends and family. I wanted to share her in case it helps any of you. I know it will help me. PS - this is a great BLOG to subscribe to. -

Turkey Bacon...
jhclikesshopping@gmail.com replied to Lisa_85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once I was able to eat solid food - I did eat turkey bacon. One note.... my sleeve was not really fond of it until after a few months. The first time I ate bacon (turkey or pork) gave me lots of tummy noises. Now I eat them occasionally. However, watch out the first time.
