  1. Has anyone bought a yonana machine? This looks like an interesting concept.

I just checked out what it is online, now I want one! The reviews on a few sites not associated with the product are great.

It will be a while before I can have a banana but I saw it on amazon and thought it was something that would be nice to have.

  2. 4 days post op. Not sure how but I have a cold and sore throat. No fun. I was able to visit the Dr office today to get protein shakes and made a trip to Costco so I think I am doing pretty good.

  3. I am three days post op and don't have the energy to walk around. Has anyone else had this problem. I am getting some protein in and the liquids are a slow go.

i did not really have any energy until I started soft foods.....got my best energy after resuming regular foods at 4 1/2 weeks. You have been through a lot. Recovery takes time.

My surgeon wants us to do all this walking. Its kind of hard to do when you have nothing to go on. Maybe it will get better as I am able to get in more protein.

  4. I know I need to be working on getting as much fluid in as I can since I just came home from the hosptial yesterday but all I want to do is sleep.

  5. Just got home from the hospital. Oh my goodness the nausea was horrific. I vomited blood. I have never had a surgery where I was miserable and could not even sleep. I had ice chips last night then on to a liquid tray at lunch today. I ate the jello but didn't want to push things. Home now and trying to drink crystal light. As far as pain goes I am just sore. Feels like I have been doing too many crunches. So now on to sip sip sip. I hope and pray I do well.

Yes, I vomited blood too. It is leftover from the surgery. Just sleep and sip. Sending love and prayers to you!

It's a tough first few weeks, keep it up, you're well on your way to feeling like you really belong on the other side. I also have some ideas for you re: post-op foods if you want them at barideliciousfood.blogspot.com

Glad to hear you are home all safe and sound. Taking things one day at a time is the way to go. Focus on sipping and walking and you will start feeling a little better everyday. The first 5 days are the worst

  6. So excited this evening. I have got my bag packed and all ready to go to the hospital at 10:00 a.m.

How much liquids do they expect you do get down? I go in tomorrow for surgery, I'm very nervous!

  7. Saw my Dr today for my pre op visit. Clear liquid diet for only one day before surgery. So ready to get this over with and get to the recovery phase.

drink as much as you can as long as you can. I hated being so thirsty waiting for the darn leak test. it was awful - being so thirsty.
