    Approved!

    Congrats and my best wishes!!!
  2. If you're going by yourself, try to contact a coordinator, I used Bariatric Pal, they give you full service, they can even pick you up at the airport and drive you back, you won't need to look for a hotel, after two days in the hospital, they take you to a really nice recovery house with 24 hours valet service, cable, long distance calls, wifi.. etc.. I had a great experience with them, my doctor was Dr. j. Lopez, but they have more doctors in their team, they are all well experienced, but most important of all, you won't have to worry about anything.. GOOD LUCK

GOOD LUCK.
  4. I used bariatricpal as my coordinators, I didn't want to worry about anything...they did it all, transportations, medical fees, long distance calls and wifi, and this guys and my surgeon staff they were always taking care of me.

    When choosing a surgeon....

lol... they crucify you here for sharing and letting others know how it went for you, and trying to help, if I didn't do mine with Almanza or quiñonez, is because I heard awful things about them, and I found other better options, more experience surgeons, zavalza was on my list, I know he's great, I know people that are his patients and they are very happy with their results, I did mine with j. Lopez, and I will never regret it... best decision ever!!! so, thank you for sharing, I hope others can use this information for good.

    Long Term VSG Sleevers?

Don't back up, go for it, imagine all the things you are going to have to skip with you're daughter if you don't (sports, outdoor activities, running, playing, etc), plus, if you do this, your lifestyle will change, you will become a healthier persons and that's a great example for her...but the most important thing here...you'll be there for here for a long long time....I send you my blessing !!!
  9. I heard he's a great surgeon...my best wishes!!!
  10. My best wishes!!! Life is giving you a second chance to start over and become a better person, not that you're not, but for me taking this step meant to stay longer for my family now I get to do a lot of activities that I couldn't before, even though I always was a good daughter, sister, etc.... I was being selfish by having all my love ones worry about my health and my life... CONGRATS.
  11. So sorry to hear that, I hope your experience is useful for others, you are putting your life in the hands of someone you don't know so we should do our homework, I did a lot of research before doing my VSG, I also considered Dr. Quinones to do mine, but I heard and read about terrible experiences... so I said BYE BYE-NO THANKS, then I found this site, which was a lot of help, I visited three excellent doctors that work with Bariatric pal, but DR. J. LOPEZ was my winner!!! I WILL NEVER REGRET IT, no complication, great human being, the staff from Bariatric Pal are so easy going and so nice, what can I say after a successful story and great results.... but the only thing I will advice to people considering the sleeve.. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!

    Need some advice!

I'm already 9 months post-op, more than 55 pounds off and still going for more, Dr. J. Lopez was my surgeon, I’m never going to regret having him as my doctor, he's really kind and a really good surgeon, not sure if he's the best one, but for me, he was, I had no complications, NEVER, I stayed in the hospital 2 days and 2 extra days at their recovery house, I used Bariatric Pal as my coordinators, and they also treated me like a friend... get in touch with david@bariatricpal.com or directly to Dr. Lopez drlopez@bariatricpal.com, I also got in contact with ana@bariatricpal.com, I used them three, and Mike, the guy who picked me up and drove me back to San Diego.... I surely recommend Dr. J. Lopez!!

Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon

My surgeon was Dr. J. Lopez from Bariatric pal, they gave a great deal, 3,899, but what I liked the most is the quality of their service, so humble and human, you feel like a friend in their house, the hospital where they performed my surgery was SANTA FE CLINIC.. nice and clean!!!
  14. Paulina Green

How much was you self-pay ?

I paid 3,899 with bariatric pal and Dr. J. Lopez, it included medical and surgical fees, 2 nights at the hospital, 2 nights at their recovery house, for me and my brother, transportation from and to San Diego, 24 hour assistance, long distance calls and wifi.

    My journey

You already look great...keep up the good work!!! CONGRATS
  16. I will like to share my experience after 9 months because now I'm closer to my goal, but first of all because I know I made the best decision ever, it's not just how I look, but how I feel inside, I'm a healthier and happier person now, I have improved my relationship with family and friends. My self esteem was in the ground, therefore I wasn't too friendly, now people like to be close to me, and it's only been 9 months like a I said, Im doing all kinds of outdoor activities, I'm going to the gym, I have a new wonderful wardrobe, I'm dating, I love myself more than ever.... and everything started like this…I tried all kind of diets and diet pills before going to surgery, they helped, but only for a short period of time, and if I dropped 10 pounds, after a couple of months I gained 15, I kept going like this FOR YEARS, I just couldn't keep that weight away FOR GOOD, I went into depression, the worse year of my life, but yet the better, in January of 2014, I wasn't getting out of my house or job, obviously my family was a bit worried, I even went to therapy, I felt petty about myself, then I signed up in forums of people with the same issue I had... OUR WEIGHT, met this girl that was doing the same thing as I'm doing right now...sharing her story and helping people, I had made my own research, I looked up for doctors in Tijuana, and this girl told me about Bariatric Pal, they were so helpful, I started with them from nothing.... and they guided me in every decision I was taking, first, they gave me my options, I visited the doctors they recommend, and I stayed with Dr. Lopez,I felt really comfortable with him, It felt like he knew me, well to make the story short, Bariatric Pal made all the arrangements for me, the day of my surgery, they picked me up in San Diego, they took us (my brother and I) to the clinic, as I hoped, they made me feel so welcome, I signed up, a few papers, they explained to me everything I was signing and they gave me my room, they did all kinds of pre-op tests, EKG, etc.. they gave me a pill to calm me down, since I was really nervous,I had Dr. Lopez visited me before surgery, I liked that, because sometimes you never get to see your surgeon, I think he gave the attention every patient deserves, we deserve to be treated as humans, if it is not too much to ask, well SURGERY went great, no complications, afterwards a Lil bit of dizziness, nauseated, but that's just normal, I stayed two days in there, then Mike from Bariatric pal drove us to the recovery house where my brother stayed while I was at the hospital, they didn't have a room for him, but the guys from BP take great care of him as they did for me the two extra day we decided to stay at their RH, then they drove me back to San Diego the day Dr. Lopez discharges me...I will be in debt with all the staff the rest of my life. My recuperation, had its ups and downs, but I did a lot of reading, about what I could eat, which is one of the hardest parts of it, I learned my vegetables, my Protein, and I learned to eat, I would cheer myself up every time I felt this was too much to handle, my family and friends helped a lot also, but now I know it was the BEST DECISION EVER, I'm proud of myself, and telling my story because I want people to feel the same way I do, I'm still dropping weight, and I will keep telling my stories, my progress and my humble advice in case you need support. THANK U Family, Friends, Dr. Lopez, bariatric pal, and everyone that helped in my journey.

    9 months PRE-OP / DR. LOPEZ

WISH U LUCK!!! everything will be just fine!! I know they will take great care of you.
  18. DEPRESSION I went into depression, I'm not married, have no kids, but I have a family and great friends, but I was loosing them because I had a terrible attitude, was mad at everything and everyone, AND EATING MORE THAN EVER, after getting therapy I realized I was slowly killing myself, like suicide, CAME ACROSS people with the same issue who encourage me to take a step up, I will never regret it, I'm back now, but only as a new person with a great life quality.
  19. did a Lil bit of research, then I finally found this group, got in contact with my coordinator, since I live close to Tijuana, I had the opportunity to visit all doctors Bariatric pal work with…Dr. J. Lopez filled my expectations, he treated me like a friend, also Skype with me before surgery, I don't know if he's the best, but he did a great job to me, I didn't get financial aid, I had my savings. I dropped more than 55 pounds already, no complications, I didn't need to bring my medical records, he did ask for my medical history, and they did all kinds of pre-op tests, EKG, X-rays.. etc.….I stayed at the hospital 2 nights, then another 2 extra days at the recuperation condo, went back home, and after a week, went back to work. I just payed 3899 and they included everything, medical and surgical fees, 2 days at the hospital, two days at the recovery house, I heard a lot of people only stays 1 night at the recovery, I chose to stay 2 just to make sure I was doing ok. Once they approve your financial aid, you can scheduled your surgery as quickly doctors are available, could be a week. Overall, it was a great experience for me, my life quality has improve incredibly. I WISH U LUCK!! and I say you should stayed with bariatric pal, I know they worked with experienced doctors.

  22. A little about my experience with BP. Got in touch with David, he introduced me to the surgeons they work with, visited them and chose Dr. Lopez, I felt really comfortable with him, he explained everything so well, even did SKYPE with him before and after surgery, they scheduled my surgery for me, I only paid 3,899 dollars all inclusive.... transportation, surgery and medical fees, two days at the hospital, and an extra 2 days at the recovery house, my brother was with me all the time and they also took good really care of him, we had wifi, long distance calls, they are great people, my surgeon, nurses, coordinator.. everyone treated me like a queen, like one should be treated. They picked me up in San Diego, took me directly to the clinic, signed up papers, got my EKG, pre-ops, x ray.. etc.. they gave me something to calm myself down, I only remember being back in my room after the surgery, I didn't feel great right away, I had nauseas, dizziness, but it got better, I stayed there for two nights, since they didn't have a room or a bed for my brother, they took him to the recovery house and back to the clinic the next day. Everything went just GREAT, after two days at hospital, they took us back to the recovery house where I had 24 hour valet service, Dr. Lopez came to visit me, did my leaking test, I had no complications, I have been very positive from the very moment I decided to have this done, I trusted the people that was helping me, I trusted my surgeon, and everything got into place. Well, after Dr. discharge me, they drove us back to San Diego, got in touch with my primary Dr. he was very supportive.. and here I am... 55 pounds under and really really happy... THANK U GUYS for every single touch that made my journey a wonderful experience.
