    Freak of nature

Nope! No freak of nature! Those are consider "liquids". They process through your system a little faster, and take more "shape" with your stomach, versus "stretching" it. Those pudding cups are like a 1/4 of a cup... So that combined with the 1/2 from two hours prior... I think your fine. I can drink 16 ounces of water in like an hour, before not a chance! But "solid" foods, totally different!!! Can't finish a cheese stick.
  2. I was told I could start taking my pills whole at 6 weeks, which will be next Monday. Any advice or thoughts? Were you able to just start taking them whole no problem?
  3. Hey, I'm knocking on the door of three weeks out (Monday). According to my program my diet is as follows: yogurt, string cheese, refried Beans, eggs, puréed chicken/turkey, turkey sausage, soy burgers, AND the trusty ol Protein shakes. So here's the problem... All of the above minus the eggs, yogurt, and cheese is way to heavy for me to eat, and is very painful. However, I'm sooooo tired of eggs, yogurt, and string cheese. I've also been having a lot of trouble getting in my Proteins because I'm tired of the Protein Shakes (I was on them for 6 weeks prior to the surgery). I've done Premier, nectar, Isopure...ect. So recently I got some of the ProtiDiet (chicken Soup & Grape), which are better...but aren't on my "program". But I've read other post and see that other programs allow different mushies, such as SF pudding, Cream of Wheat ect. Now, these aren't on my sleeve program, but I'm staying nauseated and dizzy, and I think it's because I'm not eating enough? I don't know what to do...? Rock & a hard place... Any advice?
  4. They're pretty small, nothing to large. Do ya'll take them all at on e or space them out? Sorry, for all the questions! I really appreciate the advice!
  5. Yes!!!! I'm on puréed, and can have chicken. Used to love rotisserie chicken! Now... Not at all. Everything smells great, but taste like crud.
  6. I tolerate celebrate the best. I like them especially because they seem to dissolve quick, despite being so large!

    Diabetes and the Sleeve

I'd for sure talk to your surgeon & an endocrinologist about which option is best regarding diabetes. That's a hefty medical decision for surgery & diabetes a like. I've seen great results in relation to diabetes control, management, ect with both procedures. However, it is not a guarantee cure all, even if reversal of diabetes is common (for type II). Also, from my personal experience... My surgeon said he preferred the sleeve, for young child bearing age women. I'm 30, and no kiddos yet, only 1 month post op. But I do know people who had RYN and babies down the line. So since every persons health is different and individualized, I'd talk with a multidisciplinary team regarding your options. If you don't have an endocrinologist, see if your primary doc could refer you, or your surgeon. Consults are great for planning! Best of luck!!!

    Day 11

Be careful when picking up the baby. I know you don't have an option...but take it easy when you have to. ????. And just remember, you're not alone! You have made it 11 days! I remember when I was like 2 days out and think what the heck did I do...? But now I'm a month. Still have those moments, but when I do, I force myself to find something else to do. Like checking out bariatric pal. You can even word search topics, and see what other people had to say when they were feeling a certain way. Like for me... I'm a month out. I get regretful and depressed more often than I'd like to admit... So I'll search for those topics and read others advice, or post a new topic of my own. It helps me to feel grounded and keep on going. Just like you will do. One day at at time. You've got this!

    Mira-NO-Lax

Thank you all so much. Looks like I'll be heading to Wal-Greens!
  12. My surgery was 5/11, so I'm a little over 3 weeks out. SW 324 Day of Surgery 305 CW 277 Haven't dropped a pound in over a week. Lots of trouble with nausea. Supposed to be on purée, but can't tolerate. So I'm just sticking with (and basically picking at) Protein shakes, Greek yogurt, and string cheese. So my question is: When does the stall end? Once it does end how much weight did you lose? Thank you!

    Nausea

    How are you doing?
  14. Yes ma'am! How have you been otherwise? Any issues with nausea? Eating or drinking? I hope you haven't, but I was just curious.
  15. Hello! Well... Today is the beginning of week 4, and I've moved from 277 to 275. It may just be two pounds, but it'd better than nothing, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. ???? Regarding the nausea issue, I'm still having trouble & just sent the NP a message to request an alternative medication (instead of zofran). Hopefully, something else will help!!!! Thank you for asking... It's so nice to have thoughtful and understanding people! ????
  16. I need to adopt your attitude! ???? Thanks for what you said... You're right. ????
  17. I'm one month out Monday, still having nausea, & can only tolerate string cheese, yogurt, and broth. Anyone else have this issue?
  18. I'll for sure start the Prilosec regularly & see how it goes. I did contact the NP. She called me in some zofran & said that it happens to some people, and one day I'd wake up and the nausea would be gone (her words not mine). But I'm still nauseated and am having trouble eating period... Sorry, not trying to complain... It's just got me down.
  19. I bought some of the chewable Prilosec just to take on occasion, but I don't take them regularly. Can acid make you feel nauseated? I've tried refried beans, chicken, and cream soups... All make me nauseated even more. ????
  20. In the past I have attended OA (Overeaters Anonymous Meetings). People there of all sorts of shapes & sizes...& different eating problems. Even have online meetings. You can check it out on the OA website.
  21. Hi, my name is Jessi & I probably posted on here at least 5 times about nausea alone, because I was and have been having such a hard time with feeling nauseated. My surgery was on 5/11, and I was in the EXACT same boat. I've been nauseated 24/7. No vomiting, diarrhea, or cramping. Just constant nausea...for the last 3+ weeks (mainly all day, but especially at night). I've cried every day telling my husband I made a mistake, and I can't live like this the rest of my life... I have work and school...& I've been having so much trouble functioning. However! The last few days... HAVE been better. Now I don't know if it's just time, meds, or weird homeopathic stuff I've been doing... But here's what I've done: 1. Peppermint oil (like the straight stuff). When I get nauseated I sniff it (was also told to rub on abd, but it gets like suuuuper burning hot). 2. Sea Bands, got them at Wal-Greens. They're these "acupressure" wrist bands that put pressure on the inner wrist, supposed to help. I've got one on each arm. 3. Walking outside (in the evening) too hot during the day. I felt like it helped me to get my mind off of focusing on the feeling. 4. I cranked down the AC, turned on the ceiling fans, and busted out the cold wash clothes. 5. The zofran, Pepcid, & phenergan combo... 6. And for me prayer... I broke down and gave it over to God, and shot out a message to my friends to put me on their prayer list for healing. I told God, I knew he wouldn't give me more than I could handle and I was done! That I needed him to take this away... I'm trying to have faith that we were brought to this place for a reason & it will get better... So please hang in there, and if you need to gripe, be frustrated, or just talk feel free to message me. We will make it past this. Again, I'm not a doctor, but maybe some of this will help.
  22. Thank you all for your kind words and advice! It'll be applied!
  23. Hi, I'm 30 y/o and a little over 3 weeks postop. I've been dealing with the same issue... I've gotten to the point where I cry everyday because the constant nausea is affecting my every day life... I haven't tried it yet, but I'm too the point where I'm looking into homeopathic measures, like acupuncture or a chiropractor. I'm giving it one more week, then I'm going to try one or all of the above. When I messaged my NP this was here response: "Some patients battle nausea after surgery in the first several weeks and then the day comes when they wake up and it is simply gone." Honestly...didn't make me feel much better, because I'm still waiting for that day... I'll for sure add your daughter to my prayers, I'm asking that God will provide healing to those dealing with this issue. I also found this on CVS.com: http://m.cvs.com/mt/www.cvs.com/shop/health-medicine/digestive-health/motion-sickness-nausea/sea-band-wristband-one-size-assorted-colors-skuid-109278

    Nausea

I'm sorry to say I don't have any words of advice or wisdom...just that I am in the same boat. I'm 3 weeks postop, and have nausea that won't go away... I've researched and questioned, and all I find is that "it'll eventually subside". I'd rather have anything but nausea... I just contacted my bariatric NP today to ask for a script. I can't take this anymore. It's making me crazy and emotional because I just want it to stop. Did your doctor give you any information as to what was causing it? I hope you feel better soon... I'll be praying for us both.
  25. I'm three weeks out and having a ton of issues with nausea. I've noticed my salvia is like really thick and white...so is my tongue. But I've got so much salvia, I have to spit it out. Is this because of dehydration? Nausea? Acid? Any thoughts appreciated.
