@@tracynicole5181 Hey girl. ...today makes 1 week post op for me. I can definitely say its been painful. .but each day has gotten better and better especially with mobility and being able to do more for myself independently. I'm now walking outside in 15 min increments and it feels great! No problems with my liquid diet. ..I have a new found love for cream of chicken soup... lol. ..and hopefully after my appointment on Thursday with the Dr I can move on to blended foods. How are you doing with your preparation for 6/29, you hanging in there? -

2 week liquid pre-op diet
caligul replied to freelee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'LL be 7 days post op tomorrow. . And had to do the 2 week pre-op diet with Bariatric Advantage as well....it helped me to be on a eating schedule every 2/3 hours faithfully with the shakes..and adding fruit to them. I carried a cooler with me EVERYWHERE..bc I didn't want to be left with the temptation of a drive thru. It also helped me stay on track bc if ur liver is in the way. ..and I didn't shrink...my surgeon wasn't doing the surgery. And there was no way in hell I wanted to repeat the liquid diet. Good luck...once you pass 7 days. .it gets easier. -

Omg I sooo feel you...I'm 35 and the first thing I told my surgeon was I wanted to have a child and that's why I was getting healthy and going through with the surgery. He just said give him a year and I will get pregnant. I to suffer with PCOS and have suffered with it for a very long time and this is going to be my last option to becoming a mom. So I encourage you to just look at the end goal and just say you will end up getting pregnant. Girl...we don't have powdered eggs yet! Stay positive we're here for you!Btw..im 6 days post op RNY

I feel you. ..I didn't want to take a million pills either...but you can find these at Walgreens. Either take 2 with breakfast and 2 with dinner...or 1 spread out 4x daily. http://www.walgreens.com/search/results.jsp?Ntt=nestle+bariatric+vitamins

He probably just wants to really be supportive...and keep you on track..but just doesn't know how to be supportive. Have you considered taking him with you to a support group meeting? -

caligul replied to srbs62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was June 2nd as well. ..I've had lots of lower left side abdominal pain when I move only...( CT scan showed nothing)...its been getting better daily but is still about a 9. Aside from that I have been having SEVERAL BMs.. -
Lol!!! I have to laugh...so I didn't tell anyone but my husband and my sister. My other friends and coworkers...I just said I'm having surgery. ...well guess what I receive post op day 5....A DOZEN CHOCOLATE ASSORTED COVERED STRAWBERRIES from Sherri's Berries! !!! Lol. ..they looked amazing. .but I didnt give in...I haven't had sweets in over 2 months...and they aren't on my nut plan....so...my husband is having the time of his life. Am I wrong bcuz I took one berries out took a pic for IG and told her they were amazing? But then her response was she was going to bring wine and our favorite chicken salad over???? Oh lawwd.....I thought it was going to be good not to tell people. ..

Congrats on being 13 months post op!!!...so what's life like..what can I look forward to in a year? Because currently I just work on getting in all my fluids...and increase them daily. Prior to surgery I was diligent in getting my 64oz of H20.
-
Congrats @lisaanewme67....just take it 1day at a time!!! Keep us posted. ..so happy all went well for you!
-
Wow...6 weeks post op...by then my schedule says I should be on a regular diet. I had to do a 15 day complete liquid diet pre-op. ..I wonder if that make a a difference on the transition to solids. And it could be that research has changed since ur surgery date.
-
My team has us starting soft foods/blended foods for weeks 2 & 3 post op...so its the same as you...

Welp my fellow June 2015 RNY's.....it's my time (6/2)....and I'm at peace....and ready to get the party started and continue this journey to a lifetime commitment of health. It's been 35 years of indulging in bad food choices. ..now ready to commit the remainder of my life to a healthier life....and indulge in healthy food choices; andddd I wouldn't be mad if a sister became a mother along the way Best of luck to all of you along your journey. ..and let's do this.....and knock obesity out the park....NO MORE obesity labels for me!!!

Ok... thanks. .yah imma just have to wait it out. Other than that just trying to get in liquids in which is tough..and taking it one day at a time. I'm glad I'm not alone.
-
Hey ladies...question for yah I'm definitely much better from the gas now that I'm 4 days post op. But have been having a horrible pain on the lower left side of my belly. At first I thought it was my skin ripping away from staples. . But there aren't any staples. ..and nothing showed up on CT scan...so I'm wondering if there is a small muscle tear. ..bc it hurts like hell when I move! Dr appointment next week to check it out again. ..did any of you experience anything like this?
-
Ok thanks. ..@@Trayjay33

GOT MY DATE - JUNE!
caligul replied to lisaanewme67's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really is... well best of luck to you. I am 3 days post op....and nobody told me how painful the gas pains would be (drs pump u up w/gas at surgery. .and they give u meds to stop your bowels). They (gas pains) are worse than the surgery itself....but walk..walk. ..walk around the hospital...and it will pass..mine took about 40 hours...and that's with taking gas-x and lots of walking. Just keep walking. ..and putting heat pads on ur chest. You will be in prayers for a speedy recovery! -
@@caligul - Hope everything went OK. Let us know as soon as you're able. Surgery went well. ..I'm just having issues with the gas leaving. .. and as a result I can't get anything down.
