Hi Guys...thanks for visiting my profile....I hope you stay encouraged...and know we can do this...and can beat the odds!!!!
 
My story is nothing special..... I've been one of those to plan my whole life and set goals. While staying on a strict plan, I wanted to go straight to college following high school...obtain my MBA, get married...have a successful career, then after all of that have a child or two. Well, I've been successful and completed all but the latter. I have been unsuccessful with being able to have a child....due to my weight and the battle with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). After several years of fertility treatments and being unsuccessful but yet costly...my OBGYN really just said....."you have to loose the weight, there isn't anything else we can do but attempt IVF". Well...insurance doesn't cover IVF...so after much research, successful stories...and consultation with my Bariatric team...I selected the healthy solution....BARIATRIC SURGERY!!!! The first thing I told my surgeon...was...."I want to have a child of my own...and at 35 the clock is ticking....will bariatric surgery give me this option?" ...and to my surprise...he said "Yes...plenty of women who have PCOS are successful with having a child following surgery....just please give me a year before you attempt to get pregnant". To me...that was the best thing I could hear...I am going to be healthy....get rid of PCOS...and hopefully be able to have a child with my husband after 6 years of marriage!
 
So wish me luck....I'm in it to be healthy...but more than anything....I'm in it to be able to have child of my own!
