    Major Stall

I am in a major stall too. I exercise three times a week. Run for 30 minutes on a treadmill. Lose 2 pounds and gain it the next day. Plan to exercise 5 days instead of 3. Will Protein intake help in better weight loss ? My intake is low I guess.

    A week post op

That's great Carter818. Getting off diabetic medication itself is a great post surgery achievement. The weight loss is an added bonus. I am about 12 weeks postop and feel great. Many clothes that did not fit me an year ago fit me well. A few weeks will be a little uncomfortable but well worth the journey. All the best.

How long do the stalls last ?

Thanks all for the feedback and encouragement. Scales are moving down again. Did some time on the treadmill and in the pool. All well again.
  4. I am 8 weeks post op and have had a stall for over 2 weeks now. No matter what I do the scales are not moving down. Any idea how does break this plateau phase. This is most de motivating. Your suggestions or feedback will help please.
  5. Had my surgery on April 30 and within the first 1 week got rid of diabetes, the first success/ Gave up multiple tablets and insulin shots that had kept me going for over 4 years. Small issues with keeping fluids down. Protein with any form of sugar makes me throw up so switching to unflavoured ones. Icy cold Water is so soothing though have to be careful not to have too much. Where I live the Calcium, Vitamin and Iron tablets are all large sized, am seeking help on chewable forms of these. Any suggestions please. I am unable to swallow the pills with water, feel as if its choking me. Overall the best decision I ever made. Lost about 14 kgs (30 lbs) and need some new clothes for this phase !

    Let's talk about diabetes!

Until my surgery 2 weeks ago have been on Metformin, Long lasting insulin and Glimy two times a day. Day 2 after surgery totally off all medication including insulin. What a big relief. I watch my sugar levels three times a day just to make sure all is fine. And it is. Just a matter of time before you become medicine free.
  7. Greetings from Thailand. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and all was well. 40 ml liquids on day 1 - no issues, 200 ml from day 2 onwards no issues. But since last evening even small sips of any liquid chokes me and finally after 10 minutes or so comes out with a lot of frothy saliva. I feel week and dehydrated and scared to drink even a sip of Water. Lot of burping too. Any idea what could be wrong ? Please help.
  8. Today is my 7 days post the surgery. While the weight loss is not significant I had a small victory of sorts today. My doctor has just informed me that starting now I can stop all diabetes medications. pills and insulin that had kept me company twice a day are to be gone from now. Just this has made the surgery worth the effort. Of course, I need to monitor the sugar levels which i plan to do twice a day with the home machine. Warm regards, Nagaraj
  9. Greetings from Thailand. After several months of thinking finally did the Sleeve to Bypass on April 30, 2015. Having gone through the sleeve process once, I am excieted about the results that I am yet to see at the same time bing realistic. Weight loss is minimal as of now but I know what to expect in the next few months. Have a few boxes of clothes that I plan to fit into. On the other side, my diabetes seems to be going too low with my old medication, almost had a blackout with low sugar yesterday. With the support of all the wellwishers here I will soon be on on the way to being fine again. Warm regards, Nagaraj
