    Buddy for reset after sleeve

Unbesleeveable 1 I go To Leports support group on Thursdays at Fountain Valley, do you go? I want to reste so much, but so hungry lately, 18 months out, afraid to try it, but will for sure soon. I do workout alot 4-5 times a week spin and trainer, but stopped tracking and sure I am over my calories, thanks for the posts, it is comforting to know we all have the same struggles at times
  2. Great story, loved reading it, will try those essential oils, I love my lavender, thanks for some insight
  3. I know it has been 1 month or so from your post but it was very inspiring. I am almost 18 months post sleeve and find myself struggling. I got down to 161lbs, goal 145lbs, so have not reached it and now I find my hunger uncontrollable almost and have gained back about 5-6 lbs. I am also such a carb addict, I thought that was behind me, and am so, so scared of regain. I cannot believe how hungry I am, and how much more I need to satisfy me. I am tracking again, and trying to use premier Protein instead of carbs or something more high calorie to satisfy the hunger and of course the protein and veggies. Thanks for your post and if anyone has any other ideas please share it really does help. I do go to a support group wekly, but it is really geared more towards preops, will look into some food addiction groups and see if that helps. I also followed this forum 4-5 times a week and have not been on in quite a while so will try to get back on more often now also. I like this new forum section. If anyone knows of any good psychologists or support groups in north Orange county Ca please let me know Glad to see some old timers still on this forum and good to catch up

  5. It took me 30 years of fighting obesity, every diet you can imagine, sometimes multiple times, like weight watchers, not that I don't believe some people can do it, but it is a very small percentage, and finally 3 years to really decide I was going to get drastic and do the gastric sleeve. I am terrified of surgery and it was a very big difficult decision. Sometimes I still cannot believe I have actually done it and it is now almost 16 months and 117lbs down. 17 more lbs to reach my goal. Anyway I am now able to postpone my left knee replacement, NSV and I went to Seaworld and the Wild animal Park, San Diego last week and was able to walk around both parks, only sitting occasionally, still have arthritis in knees, but the weight loss has made such a tremendous difference. I walked hills that i would not dare 2 years ago to even attempt, and my husband could not believe it either, another huge NSV. So if you are having any doubts, the doubt should be what took so lo ng, do it, it is amazing, and absolutely life changing for the better. Good luck to all, and go for it.
  6. Just wanted to get back on, it has been quite a while. I am now 15 months post sleeve, down 117lbs, would like to reach goal of 145lbs, but just don't know if it will happen. Just like everything else I used to do, I give up. Well not completely, very grateful for my sleeve, would do it all over again in a second. I just feel frustrated that the stalls now last 1,2 or even over 2 months. I don't even know if his can be considered a stall. My surgeon says I have lost over 80% of my xcess body weight and that is above average. I see so many people get to goal, I am trying but the scale just hasn't moved for 5-6 weeks. I am meeting with the NUT his week and will discuss another plan. Still loving my sleeve and loving the compliments I get and even get called skinny at 162lbs. Hope everyone is doing well.

  8. Hello, I have not been on as much as I used to. Really just checking in. Feel like this is a place I can vent. I am a little over 1 year out, and holding at 165lbs, that's 103lbs down, very grateful. I just seem to be slipping some, not using my fitness pal, like I was, still eating more carbs then i should. I mean what is it with these carbs, so addicting, and the more I eat the more I want, really like a drug they say. Any tips how to stay away. My fist 6-8 months I was the model sleeve patient. Followed the diet to a T, then back to some carbs, finally after 7 week stall, stopped them, lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks, then back to carbs. Not junk, more like, bread, Pasta and crackers. Would like to lose 20 more lbs, but we shall see where this body goes, with my help of course. Good luck to everyone, and for those veterans any tips would be much appreciated.
  9. I do eat my protein, usually 100 gms a day, so the carbs are in addition to protein. Hard to stop, but recently lost another 2 lbs, this body has a mind of it's own, but grateful

    Vitamin Patch?

I used the Vitamin Patches for a short time, because my surgeon said they have not yet proven they are what they claim, and he does not recommend them. As with most Vitamins they are not regulated, but I guess he claims the studies have not shown they are effective. He recommends the chewables, but now at 1 year out I just swallow them, and even at 3 months out I began to swallow them, the chewables were too sweet. The patches are so easy to use, and I hope 1 day they find they are as effective as all the others. I do go to a support group and some of the people there use the patches and state there labs are always fine and they have no deficencies, so maybe they do work.

  12. Feel free to ask anything, I am 1 year out as of Aug 3rd and down 103lbs. SBG224, message me good luck

Why are so many stages different?

Mine was no rice, bread or Pasta for 6 months and no alcohol for 1 year. Low carbs forever, never heard of anyone being allowed pasta, let alone that soon, that's really unusual. Even now 1 year out, I try y best to do no carbs, well low carbs. Yours does sound pretty good, good luck
  14. I had such a slow weight loss in the beginning, I was sure I was going to be my docs first failure. I found a cheap trainer, and that gets you on track as you have that appointment and it makes you go, that's a start. I just kept following the program, 100 gms of Protein, no rice, Pasta, bread or alcohol, and no sugar, well as best you can. At about 3 1/2-4 months the weight just started falling off, I am now 1 year out and down 103lbs. It can be done. I just came off a 7 week stall, stopped the carbs I had gone back to and lost 7 lbs in 1 1/2 weeks. I do also have a therapist once a week that I see. You need to use that tool you opted for and give it your all and it will work for you, good luck
  15. I cannot believe it has been a year, well Aug 3rd officially. I have lost 103lbs, per me and 113lbs per the bariatric center. I go for my 1 year check up tomorrow. I am so grateful for my sleeve. There are some issues, like I got off the carbs, lost 7 lbs after a 7 week stall, and then went to Vegas and went back on carbs, just have to be more diligent and keep off them as best I can. This site has been such an asset, and I enjoy reading and posting and answering questions. I would do it all over again in a second without a doubt, and know I know why so many say there only regret was not doing it sooner. Good luck to all who are pending their surgery and good luck to all who struggle each and everyday, like I do to keep on track. It sure is a journey, and a struggle at times, but the differnece is amazing and I will never get tired of being told how good I look and what a difference.
  16. I was stalled for about 7 weeks, and I really thought my journey was done. I was eating more carbs, crackers, Pasta, and bread. That was my first long stall, then finally I cut the carbs, out, and the scale moved. I am so elated as of today I have lost 100lbs in 1 year, it amazes me. My official surgiversay is Aug 3rd, but 1 year ago July I was 268lbs and as of today I am 168lbs. Just wondering what others have experienced as far as stalls, and did you do anything to break it. I am trying to increase the Protein, although I get 100 gms a day. It amazes me, and I am so grateful for my sleeve. I would like to continue to lose the weight and reach goal, but even if I don't I am grateful.

    anyone in the bronx

I am from the Bronx, Parkchester area, but I live in California almost 30 years. I was born and raised in the Bronx and did not leave until I was almost 27, so I remember it well, and deep down it will always be my home. What part are you from. I went to PS 119, and JHS 125, then Lehman HS and Lehman College where I graduated in 1982 as a nurse. Very good and very near and dear memories. My family also moved to California and I have a few good friends still there, but several of them left NY also. I think I am quite a bit older then you. Good luck message me if you want SBG224

    Narrowing in the stomach

What does the surgeon say, it sounds more like his call then the GI doc, good luck
  19. It is so different after surgery it is hard to compare. You are never as hungry as you were before surgery, your tastes change, you do not feel deprived, I can eat anything and everything and it agrees with me. Well I should not say that, because I have not tried everything and anything, but the things I love I can still eat, You do need to cut back or cut out carbs. I just had a seven week stall, and the scale finally moved again, yay. I had gone back to carbs, mostly bread, Pasta and crackers, not junk, and I think that really caused such a long stall. Also everything I said above ome s from my experiences, everyone is different, good luck, and try not to worry so much

    Chronic Constipation Woes

Do you have insurance. I am on it too, and had to get a good GI doc to fight insurance company for me so now they pay for it, I could not afford it either without the insurance. Good luck.
  22. Hi guys, I have not been on for quite a while. I am still stalled at 172lbs, now almost 2 months. I just keep thinking maybe this is it, yesterday was my 11 month surgiversary. Maybe this is all my body wants to lose. I would like to lose more weight, at least 20lbs, if not 30lbs. I am still very grateful for the weight loss so far and for my sleeve each and ever day, but I feel like I am not done. I do notice I am much more hungry these days too. Trying to stay away from the carbs, bread, rice, crackers. Not very much, but I guess just enough that it is holding me back. Any advice will be appreciated. I have increased the liquids, Protein, exercise, and still the scale just sits. Hope everyone is doing well. When have others noticed the weight loss has stopped.

    Will it get Better?

I was 268lbs and in so much pain. I was sleeved 11 months ago and pain is so much better. I did have right total knee in December, but the left, which is bone on bone, still needs to be done, but I notice a tremendous difference since losing 97lbs. Good luck
  24. Every month surgiversary I make a post, but this month 2 days late. I have been stalled for about a month at 172 lbs and it is driving me crazy. I know we need them, everyone gets them and they are part of the process, but it stinks. I was so used to seeing the scale move pretty consistently, that now even though it is hard to watch it stand still, I still have to weigh each and everyday. Other then that I feel pretty good, and very grateful for the sleeve. I have had some people call me skinny, and I will never get enough of that, even though I would still like to lose another 30lbs. So close to the 100lb mark. Hope everyone is doing well, good luck to those who are about to join us. It has been great reading posts on this site and very helpful
