  6. I reached 70 pounds lost this morning and I wanted to post a few photos for those considering WLS. I am five months post op and I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy in Tijuana Mexico. I used Dr Jesus Martin Lopez. He and his staff were amazing. I booked my surgery through BariatricPal and they were also wonderful. I have had no problems and I can tolerate 90% of what I eat. Every now and then I have something that doesn't agree with me. This doesn't mean I can never have it, I just wait and try later. It simply meant it wasn't time to have it yet. I attribute my lack of complications to Dr Lopez. He did an amazing job and is truly a talented surgeon. The surgery is simply a tool. The biggest contributing factor to success is mental. I was ready mentally and prepared to NOT make food a priority in my life. I was ready and willing to give up whatever food I needed to make this work and to give it up for the rest of my life if necessary. Temptation has been there but I have not given in and I have not cheated. I still have 60 pounds to go to reach my goal. I WILL make it because I WANT to make it and I am WILLING to put in the work and sacrifice needed to get it done. THIS HAS BEEN HARD! But it has been worth it. If you are considering WLS because you think it will be the easy option, please reconsider. The surgery did make it possible for me to make it half way to my goal. I could not have done it without VSG. So, instead of saying onward and upward... I will say onward and downward! I am determined to post more pics on the future. I think the great thing about this forum is if I do screw up and I do cheat, I know I can come here for the swift kick in the ass that I need to get me back on track

    Kyani

Has anyone tried Kyani post-op. I have looked at the ingredients and it appears to be all natural. Just wondering if anyone has used it.

    Kyani

Not as a replacement for my supplements, but in addition to. I have read up on them and read the label and ingredients and everything seems to be above board. I was just hoping someone else had used it and could give me some insight as to their experience with the product

    June 2015 sleevers

I was sleeves June 15th and am at 192 from a high weight of 268. I finally got into a size 14 from a size 26 at the start. I have been super pleased with my decision to get the sleeve. I have had no complications and working hard to change my eating habits. I have about 50 or more pounds to go.

    Mexico surgery

I traveled to Tijuana and used Dr Jesus Martin Lopez. I don't regret going for one second. It was a great experience and the doctor and staff were great. I was sleeves on June 15, 2015. I have had no complications. America is not the only country in the world that has quality health care and good doctors.
  15. Everyone on here is either obese or has been there. We all remember our past eating habits. One corn dog and one banana is a restricted meal compared to how we used to eat. I don't know about anyone else but I could sit and easily eat three or four corn dogs. If you have no restriction then why wouldn't you eat like in the past. It sounds like you do have restrictions, maybe the restrictions just aren't what you expected. I read posts about people who can only eat a few spoonfuls at a time. That probably isn't the case with you. That being said, it seems you should concentrate on nutrition if you truly want to experience permanent weight loss and improved long term good health. Whether your surgeon and/or NUT tells you too or not, do what is best for yourself. Take this time to learn

    Pre surgery weight loss...

I was also self-pay and didn't have to meet any loss requirements. I also went to Mexico and got great care and only paid $5,000.

    how fast?

You have lost nearly what it has taken me 6 months to lose. I have lost 75 pounds. Everyone is different. I am happy with the weight I have lost and not overly concerned about it taking longer than expected. I still need to lose another 50 pounds. If you are concerned about your loss being too quick, raise the question with your doctor. Congratulations!

    Fruit?

When I have fruit I have 1/3 cup of strawberries and 1/8 cup of blueberries. I don't eat bananas because it is a bad combination of sugar and fat. I am six months out and started having my small servings around 3 months. Also, on a different note, my NUT originally said to wait for 3 months on fruits with small seeds like strawberries and blackberries as the seeds can get stuck in your staple line
  19. How much was your loss after the surgery?
  20. maggie409

    20% Long-Term WL?

I have lost 58% of my EWL. I am just under 6 months out and still losing. I think success rates depend upon each individual's willingness to change eating habits. You will be successful if you are of a mind to be.

    Mexico anyone?

I am not really a shopper so I wasn't interested. I know several people though that went for long walks and went shopping. I think it's different for everyone

    Mexico anyone?

I was sleeved on June 15, 2015 by Dr Jesus Martin lopez and booked my surgery through BAriatricPal. It was a wonderful experience. The doctor and the nurses were amazing and exceptionally skilled. The BP staff took very good care of me and my husband. I have had no complications at all and I have lost 73 pounds and went from a size 26 to a size 16. I am going back in February with a friend who is having the same procedure with Dr Lopez. I would have recommended to anyone that asks.
