I worked with David and I believe my friend who will go next month is working with Henry. You can deposit directly into their account at Chase Bank at any location. -

The dreaded stall....
maggie409 replied to alisawoo22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only weigh once a week. Every now and then I will step on the scale mid-week but I try not too. My weight may fluctuate throughout the week but what I don't know won't hurt me. Here are my numbers. High weight - 268 Date of surgery 6-15 weight: 254 1 week PO: 248 2 wk PO: 247 3 wk PO: 243 4 wk PO: 241 1 mo PO 7-15: 239 5 wk PO: 238 I will weigh in the morning to see where I am on week 6. Don't weigh so often. To break myself of the habit I sent my scale to my daughters house for a few weeks. -
Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
maggie409 replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've enjoyed reading this thread. All of the different opinions and different eating habits. Just like we all researched and planned before we had surgery, I believe for people like myself who are only a few weeks out, we need to research and plan for maintenance. We should focus on attitude and forming good habits. I am 51. I don't just want to see the success stories, I want to hear about the struggles and difficulty as well. I want to educate myself so I don't make the same mistakes as others. I am very interested in eating a vegan diet. I know it's health benefits. I hope to transition to that through this journey. The hardest habit for me to form is exercise. I am struggling to make it part of my daily routine. -
Travel Home from Mexico
maggie409 replied to BigHarleyGuy1's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My flight was fine. Not as long as yours as I was traveling to Texas. I did however select a larger front seat when booking because it was closer to the bathroom and just more comfortable. -

I used BariatricPal and we just deposited directly to the BariatricPal bank account and Chase Bank. We did make an initial down payment of $500 when we booked the surgery through PayPal. But the balance we just deposited directly to the BariatricPal account. I used Dr Jesus Martin Lopez and have been extremely pleased. I am going back in August with a friend who is also using Dr Lopez. -
I am six weeks post op and since my surgery I get cold sweats every time I have something that doesn't set well in my stomach. I don't get nauseas and I don't throw up but I do get cold sweats. Weird I know.

Gnc total lean is all I have used. I buy the vanilla bean, Swiss chocolate, and strawberries and cream. There are other flavors as well. -
TX--"Big Country" Abilene
maggie409 replied to Jerrie Ann's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Did a support group ever get formed for the Abilene area? I am about an hour away but I go there all the time. I would love to participate? -
This morning I had a scrambled egg and 1/4 cup fresh strawberries. I am just starting to add in fruit and I'm being very cautious. This is my first time with strawberries (except the occasional Tblsp in oatmeal).

I just started walking last week. I can now walk 1 mile at a time. Right now I am just trying to make it a habit. I am six weeks post op. I walked some before surgery but it was way difficult. I am down 30 pounds since I started pre-op diet. 30 pounds makes a huge difference in being able to walk now. You will get there. Be patient and let your own body be your guide.

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
maggie409 replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have wanted to get on a vegan diet for years. A good documentary to watch on Netflix is "Forks over Knives" and also "Engine 2 kitchen Rescue". Lots of impressive research and studies have been done proving this healthy way of eating. The only thing that has stopped me over the years is simply learning how to cook all over again. I do hope to transition to this eventually. I would love to know more!! -
As a deeper though of which came first chicken/egg..... Is the wear and tear in the hens ass worth the price of eggs in China??

Devistated-WLS excluded from plan
maggie409 replied to %#LoosingIt?!&-'s topic in Insurance & Financing
I made arrangements for after care with my primary care provider. Again I don't have insurance so I can't answer that question. I spoke to my surgeon on the phone and they will also Skype with you. I arrived the day before my surgery and my Dr came to see me where I was staying and spent a lot of time talking to me and telling me step by step what he was going to do. -
Only good carbs. I don't eat anything white either. No rice, pasta, potatoes or bread. When I was told to add carbs I added oats with a teaspoon of honey. (The only sweetener I am allowed is honey or agave nectar). I can get carbs from Greek yogurt and a few steamed veggies. I also haven't added fruit back.

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015
maggie409 replied to JosieAppleHead's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
A friend asked me at lunch today what was the best part about getting the sleeve. I told her knowing that I would never pig out again and also that the 30 pounds I have lost wasn't coming back. It's liberating knowing that if you follow the plan you can't lose!! -
Problems with losing 100 or more pounds in the first 5 months

Wow I have never heard of that. A new one to me. I'm already done with menopause so I should be good! -
I'm sitting in a bar right now waiting on a friend having a glass of water! Speaks volumes about my life right now. Don't cave to what is expected. Do what's best for my health regardless of surroundings even if it involves water in a bar!

I wake up every morning and drink a bottle of water. After the water We have to wait 30 minutes before we can eat. I got called out early for work this morning. I don't have time to wait 30 minutes. The question is, do I wait 30 minutes which means I do without or do I eat despite having just finished a bottle of water?
