Tomorrow is my big day! Im being 'banded' at 8am. Im kinda nervous....ive been praying about it, and I know God is a good God.

Hi Crystal! Congrats on your decision. I am currently on my 14 day liquid diet. I like the South Beach best-they are wonderful! I especially like the caramel Peanut Butter. I drink Protein shakes from Adkins-the vanilla is delicious, but I also like the Mocha. Enjoy!

Debbie- I was concerned about something you said...that your husband kept telling you over Christmas that you are eating too much. Are you kidding me? Why would he say anything to you like that? My SO has never EVER said one word about my weight or what I eat. If he did, he would get a big punch in the nose! :cry:bandit

My insurance policy has a baratric clause, however, it is only for patients over 55. There is one which allows the surgery for people under 55, but my employer opted to remove it from the policy (to save money). The testing was just the typical ones-EKG, Blood Work, sleep Apenea Test, etc. It even covered the counseling. I am in Phoenix, AZ. Is your family very supportive of your decision for surgery?

LA- Those are my doctors. So professional and knowledgable. Have done thousands of surgeries, and he is a patient himself. You will love it!

Hi There Neighbor! I am going to the Weight Loss Institute in Tempe. They are higher priced, but it includes 3 years of monthly support groups, pre and post counseling, free personal trainer for 3 years and all your doctor visits. I felt comfortable with my surgeon. I live in Queen Creek! How far along are you in the process?

Hi Charley- My insurance would not cover mine, so I am going with cash. My company actually put a 'block' on baratric surgeries (I hate them-jk). I went to a free seminar on December 8th and scheduled surgery on Dec 28th. Im 3 days away and super nervous! It all depends on your tests though. Good luck!

2 weeks liquid only....during Christmas....DURING CHRISTMAS....! I did cheat on Christmas Eve. I ate. Crap. Oh well...Surgery is 12-28! 3 days to go! Whoo hoo!

Hi Shoegirl! Its so great to see yet another December 28th surgery! I love knowing someone else being 'banded' the same day! My surgery is at 8am on the 28th. Headache is better. Im cheating a little-I need some food! Ha!

Hi Susan- Thanks for your response! Yes, I am on that awful liquid diet! I have the most HORRIBLE headache today from it too! How long after op. did you have a 'full' feeling when you ate? How long did it take for you to be able to eat 'normal' foods (I really want some hummus!) Thanks again-Tracey

Thank you guys for the suggestions and wisdom. This is awful! I couldn't even go to church this morning! I think it is a mixture of lack of caffeine and just being plain old hungry. Rebellerina-That is so cool that we have the same surgery date! We are very similiar in starting points too-I am 312 lbs and a BMI of 51. and we are the same age. It is so great to meet someone who is at the same exact place as you are-we can support one another though our whole process!
