    On-Q pain pump

Did anyone have problems removing it, or am I just a wuss?? It's hurting! I'm supposed to take it out today but I swear it's stuck!

    On-Q pain pump

It's s catheter pain device that's implanted in your abdomen to dispense constant pain meds. You wear it home and remove it yourself after it depletes.

    On-Q pain pump

I was standing. I just put a cold towel to it and started thanking Jesus for removing it while steadily pulling it out. I finally got it! Lol I didn't realize it was so much in there though.

    African American Sleevers

. I'm researching how to cope with that, too.My nutritionist gave me the best advice: change the way you think about food, and eating in general. You're not hungry- you need a Nutritional Opportunity. Think food: I come up with chicken, potatoes , steak. Now think Nutrition: I think if spinach salad with diced turkey meat and a v8 splash. Just changing the word itself changes what I attach to it. It also allows it to be measured. I know I need 60-80 grams of protein a day, and 64oz water. Have I met my nutritional goal yet? Nope. Have I met my Food goal yet? Hugh? It's not measure able. So I need 6-8 nutritional opportunities each day. Try it. I'll try to find her website and post it for you.

    Newly Sleeved

i was sleeved Monday too! I actually have zero desire for food at this point which is scary. I am however super thirsty all the time. I slipped up a minute ago and chugged a Little bit of water, but apparently not enough for any pain - thankfully. Did that in the hospital and thought I killed my self.

What to expect in the hospital

I was sleeved on this past Monday. I remember being wheeled into the hall headed to OR, then waking up in my own room. I took a bunch of stuff I didn't even use like my kindle, 2 pairs of Jammies, extra socks, etc. I couldn't wear my pajamas because the didn't work with the IV line. I couldn't wear my socks because I had to wear the compression socks that they gave me, with the hospital grade non skid socks. No underwear for my 3 days, which was actually a help because I had them take that catheter out when I woke up so I kept running to the bathroom. Between them taking my vitals and walking me every 4 hours, sleep was no where to be had! I didn't even turn in the TV . I wish I'd have bought my pillow though. A body pillow or pregnancy pillow would have helped wonders!

    Big Heads

Nope, me too. I sometimes see ppl being what I think is too small, so I don't want to get like that either. I need a lil weight

    Any August Sleevers?

Lol!!! I'm home ! Virtually pain free. My 2yo keeps trying to touch my stomach . I have the On-Q pain catheter in the larger incision . I can take it out on Friday or before if I feel so inclined. That's the only thing that really aches besides the gas. TMI , but I can't pass it!! I've been walking every 2 hours but it's a no go. Oh well. Time to finally lay in my own bed and try to get some rest since there was no rest to be had at the hospital. They get you up every 2-4 hours to walk. Plus all the usual poking and prodding. It starts about 6 hours after recovery. I'm excited about this new journey! Yours is coming soon!
  15. Hi Fam! I'm scheduled in 2 days, 249#, 5'4". Looking for a buddy with preferably the same or close stats! Who's in?

    Any August Sleevers?

I was having regrets because of the pain and gas. Today I'm almost pain free, maybe a 3/10. I should get to go home today. Keep us updated!

    Any August Sleevers?

How are you doing and feeling I'm just now starting to feel better. I've spanned the emotional scale from regret to elation in the last 24 hours. My doc is keeping me for another night. I'm up and walking on my own and trying to get my 64/60 oz in via sips. How did yours go?

    Any August Sleevers?

I'm in Glenn heights near cedar hill. My Dr. Is David Dyslin with Arlington Batiatrics, and it's going to be done at USMD . I'm super nervous! I'm sitting here packing my kids stuff and my own for the next 2 days! My baby has never spent the night anywhere and he will be staying with my cousin tomorrow night... I'm so sad! It'll be worth it though in the long run...

Anyone in the DFW area? My surgery is tomorrow (8/24) .

    Any August Sleevers?

My surgery is tomorrow and I cheated Friday. I was on full liquid Friday but I went to panera and had baked potato soup which has some chunks. I just chewed them up really well til liquid consistency. Other than that, nothing. It was my last hurrah!
  24. Yes, sad is probably a better word @Babbs. I understand both of your views regarding feeling attractive and being attractive to someone else. My husband met me at 165, and 10yrs later I'm at 249, yet he's still here. No, a lot of men aren't shallow, but let's face it- a lot are. However, she's happy in her new body, and we are happy for her!
