I had the same exact thing. My doctor told me that it was gas and that I needed to move around more. I started to move more and the pain went away. It did take a little time but eventually it was gone.

Atlanta Johns Creek Lifetime Fitness? If anyone uses this gym and wants a partner to work out with please let me know. I find it more motivating when you have someone else to work out with. Had my band on 9/29/2008. Lost 30 lbs so far. I just joined the gym recently.

Dr. Johnson is wonderful....
My consult was sometime in late October...My preop was late November and my insurace doc's were sent in December pretty fast....everything went smooth until my insurance took exactly 30 days...with me harrassing them the last week almost daily....
If you meet all the requirements and follow the packet Mildred gives you at Dr. J's office you will be fine....they are wonderful!
I went in today for my 2nd fill. He is kind of conservative compared to others but what he is looking for is lifestyle change and consistency if you follow the band rules you will be fine.
Perhaps we can meet at the next meeting.

I am also using Dr. Johnson. I live in Alpharetta. What else can you tell me about this doctor and how your surgery went?
I dont need to wear ankle weights but I am concerned about my insurance. I have Cigna. I have been to all the doctor appointments, support groups, and consultations. I am just waiting for my doctor to compile all the paperwork needed for the insurance company. Then just wait to see if I am approved. What insurance did you have and how difficult was it to get approved?

I did everything on the list that I am supposed to do.:biggrin: Now my doctor is compiling all the necessary paper work for the insurance company. I guess this is the hardest part now, just waiting to see if i am approved. Does any one else have Cigna and how hard was it to get approved? I'm so excited right now but also worried about the insurance approval.

I am just starting the whole process. My insurance company (CIGNA) tells me that i need a letter from my doctor stating that he has been monitoring me for a diet and excercise program for at least six months. I didnt know that they would need this and now I may have to wait until 6 months is up even to see if I can be approved. And then at the end of six months I may have lost a few pounds and I wont be eligible for the surgery. Even though I know I will gain it right back because thats what always happens to me. (lose a few, gain double) I am very frustrated with the process. I am going to see my doctor today and hopefully he will be able to give me a letter sooner. You see, I am a kidney transplant patient also and have high blood pressure. My doctor has been monitoring my weight for a long time and is all for the Lapband. I dont know what my doctor is going to say but he might just give me the letter sooner but the thought of having to wait 6 months longer just pisses me off. Did anyone have to get this kind of letter from their doctor? What exactly did it say? I dont want to have my doctor write a letter and find out that it needs to be written differently. Sorry if I rambled on but I just needed to vent.

I went to a seminar recently. I am so excited about getting the procedure done. I have alot of work to do now but in reading everybody elses replies, I am confident that everything will be OK. I am from Apharetta Georgia and I am using Atlanta Bariatrics, Dr. Hartand Dr. Johnson. Is anyone from this area of GA and did anyone use Atlanta Bariatrics?
