How long was your pre-op diet?

I'm glad to hear others are only required 1-2 days of liquids pre-op. My surgeon said if I lost 3-5 lbs he would do the surgery (BMI 47). I've lost about 10 lbs and surgery is 3 weeks away. I see my NUT again Tuesday for my official pre-op class but I was starting to worry that I was missing something!

    California? Anyone...ツ

I'm looking for other Sleevers in Santa Cruz, Ca! My surgery is 6/15/15 at El Camino through PAMF. When I return to work, my schedule won't allow for me to attend the support group they put on so hoping to find some locals for support!

    Essential Oils

I'm curious too. My NUT isn't familiar with EOs so was no help. I'm sure gentle ones like lemon are fine. I take LLV, and the one for allergies daily. Today I feel a cold coming on so I'm taking 2 drops each of On Guard, Frankincense, melaleuca, oregano, and lemon in a gel cap every couple of hours. It seems to help the cold symptoms but I have to chase it with tums and I still get some reflux. For that reason I'll probably stick with external application for awhile after surgery (6/15/15). With all the studies being done on EOs, bariatrics seems to be an untapped area so far.

Super Nurses With Sleeves (Support Group)

Hooray! So glad I found this thread! I've been a NICU-RN for 7+ years in Santa Cruz, Ca and my surgery is coming up 6/15/15! I've only read through a few of the 42 pages of this thread on my iPhone;-P but there seems to be quite a large variance of how quickly people bounce back. My surgeon says I'll be back to work in 2 weeks and that sounds absolutely absurd to me! I'm planning on being out at least 6! Sitting at a desk for 8 daytime hours is one thing but There's no such thing as light duty on 12 hour nocs! At least my co workers are awesome and supportive, I just can't imagine being up for a code 2 weeks out!!! Any insight? I'm also worried about the water intake. I drink easily 3-5 liters a day and I'm worried only being able to sip I'm going to feel extremely parched!
