Sweats Immediately After Eating
brian1360 replied to Cognorati001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 weeks post surgery and still go through this.I was joking with a co worker that had the band.I felt like was having hot flashes at first and joke that it was male mental pause. It is not as bad now I think it is from speeding up the metablism.I was having mild pain after I eat dinner and I think that is from eating fast.I would have a cigar after dinner and the tobacco would relieve this -

My dr told me make sure you are getting extra calaries.Say youre workout shows you are burning 200-300 calaries at first get in the extra calaries you dont want to put youre body in a starvation mode which slows down youre weightloss.Once I was able to eat some solid food I started working out not really consistant at first.I am a heart patient and need to strengthin my heart.I started at 30 minutes on the stationry bike which I strugled. Now 4 weeks later I am able to do 45-60 on the bike and I did 45 minutes on the elipticle trainer. It has helped with my platea of 2 weeks.I have now lost 25 lbsI plan on doing 60 minute workouts and adding weight training. One more tip if you add weight training make sure you have the added calaries in proein maybe shakes or you just break down the muscles. You need the extra protein for muscle growth which will speedup youre metablism

Weight Loss after surgery
brian1360 replied to Nickkibear24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It might because you're metabolism is slow at first being in a starvation mode.Once I was able to start eating in small amounts the weight has been coming off. You speedup you're metabolism by eating every 4 hours. I am at 9 weeks and I have lost 25lbs.My dr dietician shared this with me which I knew. I met with my general practitioner for my physical and my results where much better. At first I was exercising 2 times a week which I started 4 weeks ago. The first time I rode the exercise bike 30 minutes was really ruff. I know can do 45-60 minutes of bike and 45 minutes elliptical trainer. I feel so much better. Hang in there. My stepsister had the stomach bypass and told me it was 3 months and the weight started coming off. -

Banded in 2001. Questions about converting to Sleeve. Scared.
brian1360 replied to VDLT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so glad to have the revision surgery 6 weeks ago.I do not miss the sliming when i went to bed.I lost 80 Lbs at first with the sleeve but when i had the fluid taken out i gained 40 lbs.I felt like somebody was chocking me all the time.Due to the inflamation I wouldnt work out for the year around january I felt so bad I thought I was having heart failure. My diabetes got worse again.I havnt got sick with the sleeve. It is so much better than the band. There is some discomfort when I eat but not near as bad with the band.It feels good to be able to eat and not worry about excusing yourself to throw up.I was told the discomfort will go away in 2 more months.I was able to go back to work in 8 days only because i was alittle weak from the liquid diet.My job requires alot of concentration and i have been fine.I feel so much better.I whent in for my physical and my doctor was impressed he shared wih me when I saw him in january he didnt know if i would make it by the end of the year because my heart condition,Also with my condition I was able to go home the next day from surgery and heardly any discomfort. If anybody has any questions follow up with me. -

Band to Sleeve lose more slowly?
brian1360 replied to Tazwella's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have lost 22 lbs in 6 weeks with the revision surgery.I love the sleeve vs the band.I dont feel sick all the time like somebody strangling me.When I had the band it usually takes 2 fills to start seeing results.I was losing 1 lb a week. The huge wight loss you saw in people with the band needed to lose alot more weight and it came off quicker for them. The people that had the revision surgery most of them had some weight loss so it might be slower in the begining -

Band to sleeve in one surgery. Who's had it done that way? How long had you had your band? What was your recovery like? Any complications? Regrets?
brian1360 replied to KellarsMom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery done Tuesday. There was a lot of scar tissue and the operation took longer. I didn't have much pain or nausea. I feel fine now and looking forward to getting off of clear liquids. I was going to try to work Monday but was weak from the diet and I am going to work tomorrow after 8 days. I am so glad I had the revision surgery. -

If there was a Class Action Lawsuit against the band....
brian1360 replied to Nursebarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope the lawsuits are coming. I am never the type to sue but I think I should have some compensation.I am a heart patient and I am having to pay out of pocket 19,000.The fact all the surgeons are admitting that it is not working and everybody having complications they are still performing this procedure in some patients. I lost 80 lbs. but then I started having problems with my band rejecting it and regaining 40 lbs. haven't been able to work out because all the fatigue with the inflammation. My heart condition deteriated some. I am know excited about having the sleeve. and get back on tract to my recovery. My surgery is scheduled for June 16 -

I had the band done 5 years ago and lost 80 lbs. In the beginning I always wanted for him to add fills and he wouldn't till I mastered it.I admire this. He takes the time to see you. I have been having problems the last year and I am getting the revision surgery to the sleeve on June 16.I found out he trained some other top band sleeve surgeons. -
