I have considered WLS for perhaps 10 years. Started about one year ago with a seminar put on by a clinic and began the process of getting certified by insurance.  I was notified a week ago that I had insurance approval and also that a surgery date was set for May 26.  Start liquid diet on May 12 and get "scoped" on May 14. Have told very few people about this due to wanting to avoid the negativity I would anticipate from some.  I have been a guest viewer on BariatricPal and have found good information that has been helpful to me and that I can relate to.  I am a professional who works full time in the human services arena. I am married with three grown children.  They all know about the decision and are quietly supportive.  I will turn 60 in December and hope to be in the best shape of my life since I was in my mid-twenties.
