Nausea with my first sip in the morning
brittanyp_vsg posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 1 month post op and am lucky that I've never experienced any nausea from food. The only time I feel sick is with my FIRST sip of something in the mornings. Does anyone else experience this? Do you know why? Thank you! -

Full liquids for 2 weeks, purees for 1, soft foods for 2, then slowly work up to regular foods. Best of luck! -
Hair Skin and Nails Vitamins? Feeling Nauseous
brittanyp_vsg posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I've been able to do all of my normal medications plus my multi Vitamins fine, but today (10 days post op) I tried to take my hair Skin and Nails vitamins, and I got SOOOOOO nauseous. That's the first time since surgery that I've felt even the slightest bit of nausea. Today is also my first day of soft foods...Any thoughts on this? Do vitamins make anyone else nauseous? Or do y'all think it's the food? -

I'm in the same phase currently! My doc told me as long as I can get 400-600 now I'm okay. It's just a lack of energy you'll fine if you don't have many calories throughout the day. So for now I'm shooting for 500 a day, then once I'm at full foods I'll try to work my way up to 700-1000 per day. What about adding in some Beans? That's a good way for extra calories plus some protein!

I'm a newbie, just got sleeved a week ago. As many of us will have, a bunch of graduation parties are right around the corner, I live in Louisiana and that means everything will revolve around food. Any tips on how to remain motivated (AND SANE) when I'm still on a liquid foods phase of my plan?

Has anyone tried the new fair Life Milk products? They are amazing and pack 19g of Protein in a single serving. The chocolate is my favorite and it's so much better than the taste of the Protein shakes. Only issue is that is has 17g of sugar and 20 carbs which is kind of high. Do you guys think these are too good to be true? The sugar and carbs are definitely much higher than a typical EAS or Atkins shake. I plan on asking my NUT next week, but in the meantime...

Same here! I also had surgery on the 29th. I've been experiencing the same thing! Looks like we're not alone! Lol

Surgery tomorrow!

You will do incredible! I'm 6 days out and this has been SO much easier than I had anticipated. Make sure you ask for nausea meds. Those help a ton. Take advantage of the rest time at the hospital, but don't wait to long to get up and start moving around. The quicker you do, the better you're going to feel because that gas will be absorbed by your muscles. GOOD LUCK!
