Hi dean123, just to let you know I too am glad I found this site. I only have one friend and she a co-worker who is eating more healthier and trying to maintain her weight loss. Although she had the bi-pass they too struggle to keep the weight off. I have and am where you are now. As far as the boobs, the most you can do right now is get a good support bra. Even if you need to pay more for it, it's worth it. I have a few from Intimacy, if you have a store in your area. When it come to people policing my meals,I just tell them I'm now maintaining the weight. And I'm trying to find out what food is best to eat to do this. This holds them off. Although I'm 3yrs next month out from surgery I still struggle with these last few pounds. Before the holidays I was 6 pounds from my goals. A little over confident and food, I gained a total of 19lbs. So as I write this I am 20lbs struggling. But the most I can tell you, "We did not put all this weight on in a few days, weeks, and months". So it will take a long and stead minded journey to get off. And if you think getting it off is hard, weight till you begin to maintain. As you lose weight get rid of the clothes you can no longer wear. When I had to wear a belt, then take in the pants, then and loss more weight, it was time to get rid of them. A thrift shop will thank you and the women who can wear them. As for hiding your drink, there will be more things you will being to try to break a habit. Just keep doing whatever it is and after a while you won't notice that you're doing it. Keep coming back. We will all give you ideas what worked for us. Try them, add to them, change them but something will work. It's in all of us to. And most of all "the band is only tool" a tool only helps you in the job you need done. Remember that always.

Hey Juli, You were truly missed. I missed your adventures. I looked forward to them when I log on. So, glad you're back and keep coming back. We've all been there as we all know so well. But the thing is "we keep coming back". I also gained as we all had. And we all have vowed to get back on track. We know what to do so let's get to it. The gang is slowly coming back home. Let's welcome each other back.

THANKS FOR STARTING THE FEBRUARY THREAD. I FORGOT ALL ABOUT STARTING ONE... It's good you still come back. No matter how long we all stay away just come back. Someone will be here to keep this thread going. I agree with you that if I lose no more weight I'm happy where I'm at. It's just that all my wardrobe is at my new weight. So, I really need to keep on top of it. I just need to get into the regular size 14 and then I'll be happy again. That is the last set of new clothing I bought. My goal is either weight 175lbs or into the last set of new clothing I bought. I've stepped up my excerise problem too. I'm getting to the gym more mornings now and now trying for the evenings. I'm back to 192lbs. So any weight loss now is what I'll be counting. I'm taking Zumba classes too. Janine like you said, it is so much fun. I was wiped out from my 1st class. But, I'm going back. Great cardio and lower body workout. thickchickTexas, keep coming back. Someone will be here. So to everyone else what have you been up to? I wish one day we could all meet up. We have shared so many ups and downs, personal issue I feel I know you better already. I miss old the old timers...But glad everyone keeps coming back. Have a great day and week till we meet again.
-
Hey Ms Carol, welcome back. That should do the trick. What have you been up to and what is one goal for the next two weeks?
-
Hi Janine. Glad you stopped by. Been missing your progress. Still glad you're staying the course. With your night cravings, I hope it's the recommended amount of coco krispies. And are eating them slow. It's easy to go over the top with them. They're lite and crunchy. Mix it up with a none sugar Cereal and you that should keep you from going back fore more. Keep up the good work. And to everyone else how are you doing?
-
Hi Carol. Glad to hear you didn't gain. That's a plus in itself. Go back to the beginning and log your meals, what's going on at the time, mood and time of day you eat. Somewhere in there you'll find the answer and won't need to spend time on the couch. Also, go back to measuring your meals and increase your Protein. Yeah, protein may not be all the answer, but if you must eat let it be that. Not a drink something to eat. That chewing motion is what may be needed. Also, what are you eating? Are you an emotional eater too? When I eat emotionally, I have something salt and crunchy = a problem I can't control or don't have any idea on how to handle. Sweet and chewy = bored or lonely and have no idea of what to do. What's your trigger emotion and food you eat? I going to log my meals this week also. Although, I'm not having a problem at the moment. Like I said, at the moment.
-
Hi, just logging my goals for the week. - prepare my meals for the week. - get in morning exercises m,w,f - back to step aerobics t & th - weigh myself on th My portion control is under control. Will stick to the increased Protein amount. It's helping with my junk food cravings. Now that I'm back on track with my eating habits, I feel in control at meal times and now see myself at my goal weight. When I started this weight loss my birthday wish was to get back into a pair of "whitepants" I held onto for 20+ years. And I got into them last 2008. This year for myself, I want to wear a size 14. I won't be a size 14 for our 3 yr anniversary, but I will be for my birthday in July. Then onto the next step, maintaining the weight. Well, hope when I sign on again, I'll be reading your stories.

Hey... I just weighed myself and I lost another 1 pound. Lost a total of 4 pounds this month. Now I'm inspired to really loose the next 16 pounds. I did well again last night. Went to a small birthday gathering. I fore went a meal and a 2 layer, pineapple filled coconut covered cake. Well, it wasn't that hard. Not a favorite of pineapple filling or coconut. But I did have 6 Dorito chips. Still think I did good for the week though. I did make it to the gym 2x mornings but 1x evening. Now to improve on that. But, I'm getting it together. Thanks for reading my logs. Just waiting to read yours. I want to know everything. A complete update. Okay???
-
Hi everyone just checking in today. I've made one week without eating any junk food. I don't even crave it. I think about it but I haven't bought any. Even turned down buying a piece of cake with my co-worker. Since I've increased my Protein, my lunch meal is enough for me for the rest of the day. Good, but not good. I still need 2 - 3 meals. Today, I couldn't finish my lunch, so I had the rest later. When I came home, still not hungry I had a slice of bread with a spinach-cream cheese spread. And only one slice of bread. Well, what's new with you???
-
Hey All, just checking in. I am so proud of myself today. I usually fast on Thursday and today I almost did all day. Fast from morning till about 4pm. I ate about 2pm, in addition I had 3 slices of bread. Not good. But, I'm drinking Water til I feel hungry then plan to have some broth. Since I'll probably be hungry just prior to going to bed. But, the best part is I used self control in not buying any junk food. I was in the drug store looking for something and told myself I could buy a bag of chips. I didn't. It's not that I craved it, it's that I haven't had any chips in almost two weeks. As I was walking home, I had several occasions to buy a bag. Then I told myself the control was not to buy the chip, rather than buy the chips eat them and have control to not buy another bag. Yeah for me. What is your "Yeah for me"?

Hi All, just checking in. I've been making it to the gym in the mornings. And lost 2lbs so far. I arranging to go to the gym both mornings and evenings. 4x mornings, 2x evenings. Don't want to overdo it. I also have noticed that since I'm back on track with my eating habits, my nails are getting longer and not breaking easily now. Also, since increasing my Protein, I'm not craving the junk food. Have to get my eating of bread under control. Other than just stop buying it. But then again I can't deprive the household of it. When do you know that you're back on track with your eating habits? Mines is my nails growing and my skin gets real clear and smooth. Hope everyone has revamped their eating habits and is following their plan. I'm still revamping mines and hope to have it in place by next week. I so do want to get to goal weight. Even if it's up and down for a while, I just want to see those numbers on the scale once. Don't think you have nothing to share, you do. Whatever it is you're going through or have had ups and downs. So, what's new with you?

Hey All, just my starting week check in. These are my goals for the week. Maybe instead of setting monthly goals, we'll just set weekly goals. They do say make small goals than large goals. For the small goals are easier to attain, that leads to the large goals. So, that is just what "WE", you and me are going to do. List our weekly goals. Then at the end of the month, we will see what we actually accomplished. So, here is my weekly goals. 1. increase my morning workout by 1 day. 2. increase my evening workout by 1 evening. Making it 3x mornings; 2x evenings. Remember, a month is 4x weeks. So, you don't need to wait to the new month begin. Josiebies-try eating a Protein for a snack in the evening. Although I am not a fan of Protein Bars maybe you need to invest in some. That stressful eating is hard to break. I am a emotional/stress eater. But for me it's somethng salty and crunchy. So what I eat are the "no salt" UTZ brand chips or the taco chips. Find what will satisfy the sweets, yet is not to high in calories or sugar but high in protein. Also, did you increase your protein w/ your meals? That also help with the sweets/junk food. I'm not craving junk food too much. Since I'm back to making my meals for the week and protioning them out. I don't crave the junk food too much. Jeni and Carol, what have you been up to lately??? No matter what it is share...
-
Hello everyhone, just checking in. I made it to the gym 2x this week in the mornings. It felt so good. Then I tried for the hula hoop class but the was no class that night. So I'll try again next week. Each morning it gets lighter and lighter, so I'll be able to get to the gym earlier in the mornings. And I'm going to start back to evening cardio and aerobics classes. I hope by the end of the month I'll be able to see some weight loss. So, how are you doing?
-
Good Morning to Everyone. Jeni we all know by now what our weaknesses are. We know by now how to overcome it. So, although we are hard on ourselves we've come a long way. I now know when I've lost control of my eating. It's junk food. For some reason, I'm controlling my food intake but the junk food wins out. So, now I need to get control of that and I will be able to maintain the weight goal when I reach it. So, again we're still learning how to get and control our weight loss. It's not over for we still come back and start again. Alwlays with a new game plan and renewed strength. We know we're not going to give up. It's easy to lose control but hard to get back on track. But we do it every time. And we're doing it again. Especially since we are with others who are going through the same thing at the same time. So, March, 2010, we may not reach our weight goal, but we will have lost more weight. Whoooppe for us.
-
Just checking in. Nothing new much for last week. My junk food cravings came back. This time it's a stress issue. Like everyone else my bills and the fact I don't have control over it. It's light enough in the mornings to walk the streets to the gym now. So morning gym, here I come. I was doing morning exercises at home. It felt good but, since I'm paying for a gym, I want to get the most for my money. Morning and evening exercises is it. I'll be doing hula hoop classes the end of the month. There is a site; "MeetUp.com" go to it. You'll find interest groups in your area. That's how I found out about the hula hoop and curvy women's group exercise and a few others. Let me know if you've found something interesting.
-
Good for you Carol. That's should be a inspiration to you. To keep it going. Now that we've all had our rest time we have to get back on track. The one thing is we know we can do it. It's getting started that is hard, but so easy to slow down and stop. Let's all see how much we can lose before our 3 years mark. I'm getting back into making and measuring my meals, evening step/dance/aerobics exercise classes and morning weight training... I want to try a new eating style. 2x days meatless/vegan, 1x fast, 1x fruit, 1x vegetable, 2x seafood. I've pretty much cut out all processed foods. I was never one for the precooked meals. My skin is so much smoother and clearer. I get compliments on my complexion. For those who eat the precooked weight lose meals, give them up for a week maybe two and see how you feel. After all, they are not as healthy as the market wants you to believe. Not think, BELIEVE. Please just give this a try.

Just checking in. Didn't do too well or bad this week. Did get to exercise and lost 1/2'' off my hips. I'm able to get back into some of my new pants again. Started back to evening exercise classes. I'm in a weight loss race with a friend I recently met. We'll see you have lost the most weight by the end of March. Hoping this will put me at my goal weight. So, what have you been up to?
-
Hi All, glad everyone's still comes back from time to time. That's what all we need is to see someone still carrying on. Janine - you're right about breaking the 200 mark. I have and I'm just barely keeping it under. I became a little over confident about it. I'm lingering between 197 - 191lbs. I'm still better off w/ 100lbs lost from 3 yrs ago. There are times I want to get a fill. But truth be told, I'm good, at the sweet spot as they call it. Another fill I feel will put me at the PB stage. And we all know that is not a good stage to be at. I'm just going to go back to the basics and lose from there. It worked before and it'll work again. Carol - did you join the weight watcher's yet? Give us some of the new hints that's going on. Remeber WW is only another tool. You still have to work with them. Josiebies - Janine is right. Although you may think the band can be removed, it's helping keep you in line. I read where one and a few people lost their weight and they didn't even have their band filled. So, see it is helping without you maybe needing a fill maybe. To everyone coming back, what's been going on in your life?

How much food do you eat at your sweet spot?
Whitepants replied to dustout's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In addition to what unshackled stated; make an appointment with a nutritionist or dietician. I went through three before I found one who I feel understood my issues. The nutritionist I am w/ now is the nutritionist who is associated w/ the LapBand doctor. This made it much easier as far as finding. Ask you family phisician or your medical insurance co. Keep coming back for support and maybe suggestions. And some of these free, online weight lose programs. Look into SparkPeople.com. For me this is the best and easiest one to work with. All menus and food recommendation are food we buy already. With the exception of some you may have wanted to try anyone. Good Luck. You can and will do this. Just don't give up. Remember we are still learning how to work with our band. Not have the band work with us. -
Hi All, didn't make it to the gym this morning. I would like to get in 30m instead of 20m - 25m session. I need to leave at 6:35am or 6:40am. I want to be excerising at 7am and no later. It takes 15m to get to the gym, not including getting to the exercise/weight rooms. So, now that I had to revamp that, I'll be there tomorrow. My prepared meals are going great. I'm not eating unhealthy foods till I've cooked something to eat. So, what have you done lately.
-
Good Evening Everyone, Josiebies: We already know you can do this. You have more of a goal than most of us right now. It's good you've given yourself enough time towards this. You'll be there. One thing about this journey, even when we lapse will still can lose. I agree with you, starting a routine is harder than being in the routine. Like now for me it's getting to the gym in the mornings. Each morning I get closer and closer. Came very close this morning but lazy. So, I'll try again tomorrow morning. As for the cravings, another things is eat a piece of Protein as well. Something that takes some time to chew/eat. Do you eat Peanut Butter, tuna, bread? These may help also, but toast the bread. The tuna eat about two tablespoons with a fork. Find something other than sweets. Carol - don't forget you can do exercises while doing daily things. When sitting, leg lifts, bring you legs straight out; standing, calf raises, raise onto your toes; at the sink, do squats; upper body stretches. I went and bought me a hula hoop. I get to do an upper and lower body workout. Do something. Let's come up ways to keep ourselves motivated. :rolleyes2:
-
Good Morning, I didn't make it to the gym this morning. Tired from preparing, cooking and portioning out my meals for the week. lunch and dinner. Especially dinner, all I need to do is pull out one of my meals and eat after I come in from gym. It'll keep me from over eating if I'm really hungry. I did a detox over the weekend and I pretty much straight. Well, hope your revamped healthly lifestyle is one you will work with. If it's not working revamp it again and again, till you get something you can work with. :blushing:

USE THE LINK IN THE LAST POST. THANKS HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010 Here we are going into year 3 of our changed life style. We have all come a long way and should be very proud of ourselves. Yes, we've had gains and loses. Ups and downs, success and failures. But no matter what we've kept going. That shows we will not be defeated. No matter how long it takes we will be at our goal weight some day. So, even though we may not log on regularly, just think of what one of us would say for encouragement. I'm going to pull out my food scale again, cook my meals for the week and make the gym 3x - 4x a week. I've already started with the gym. Now that I know my membership was rolled over. I thought it had stopped as to why I had stopped going. So, 2010 is going to be our year. We can do this. Let's get to it. Thanks for being here. THis is the best website I've been on yet.

JENI 85 AND I BOTH STARTED A NEW THREAD. WE WILL BE USING HER THREAD WHICH IS THE LINK BELOW. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f90/marchin-into-2010-a-107673/ PLEASE DO NOT POST HERE. GO TO THE NEW LINK. THANKS.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE... Jeni 85, I posted a link to the new thread. My resolution is to: Start to weigh my food again. Increase my Protein and Fiber to help w/ the cravings. Prepare my meals for the week again. And let my clothes be my scale, instead of the weight scale. We know how that scale drives us crazy. Since it's light in the mornings about 6:45am, I can start back to the gym in the mornings again. Some mornings and some evenings. This is very durable, for it worked before and it'll work again.
