  1. I'm being hit with everything this week. I have thrush on my tongue. Then I developed a yeast infection. Then I got a cold. And now I've got the yeast infection in my belly button. On top of that all, I got my period today. It has not been my week. But I am continuing with my diet and struggling through all these ailments and am happy to report a total weight loss of 29 pounds since surgery two weeks ago! We're doing it, guys! Finally!
  2. I weighed myself from the get go. I knew I would have excess water weight. I had 5 extra pounds of it. So the day I got home from the hospital I weighed myself and everyday after. I dropped the 5 pounds in about 2-3 days and then kept dropping. I'm almost two weeks post-op and I've dropped 35 pounds! It's just whatever you're comfortable with!
  3. I didn't have the sleeve, but bypass and sleeve patients have the same diet rules! I had my bypass may 11th. I am supposed to be on full liquids for two weeks. I did great the first week and then 4 days into my second week (so 4 days before my two weeks) I had cod. The next day, Tuna. And now a day before my two weeks I had shredded beef. I don't feel guilty about it at all. I also will be straight up with my surgeon at my appointment and tell them what I had. We are human! As long as we steer back to the right path, we are okay!
  4. General question! When did you all start to see a slow down of your weight loss? I'm losing 1 pound a day now, which is still GREAT, but I was losing 2-4 a day so of course that fact is a little depressing for me, haha
  5. Did they give you little ounce cups? I was told to measure my food in there for a while. Into 3 of them. They did for liquid. My paperwork says that I need to consume 1/4 cup of food over a 30 min period but it takes me alot longer than thatDo you feel full within the 30 minutes, though? I guess I would talk it over with your NUT and see what they decide would be best for this situation!
  6. Did they give you little ounce cups? I was told to measure my food in there for a while. Into 3 of them.
  7. I made the same mistake today with water. I was on the phone with my grandmother and had just finished a walk to the park when I opened my water and took 3 HUGE gulps of it. I didn't feel sick or anything but it's just amazing how mindless eating and drinking ACTUALLY are.
  8. I dumped yesterday. It was definitely awful but it taught me what I can't eat! Otherwise I've been feeling great at 11 days post-op!
  9. Height : 6'2 Age: 21 HW : 330 SW : 321 Surgery date: 5.11.15 (11 days post op) CW : 297.2 Total lost since surgery: 23.8 pounds. TOTAL LOST: 32.8 pounds ????
  10. Wow. That's great. I'm sure you feel amazing. Thank you so much! I really do! It makes all of this seem worth it even with the bad days!
  11. You guys. I hit AND passed my first weight loss goal to be under 300 pounds!!!! I'm 11 days post op and that makes for a weight loss of almost 25 pounds in 11 days and 34 pounds from my HW! My next goal is to lose 50 pounds, so to be 250, but it looks like I've already started! So 46 pounds until my next goal!!

    Dumping Syndrome

But sorry! I had gastric bypass! Not the sleeve! (I'm 10 days post op)That's exactly what I experienced from 3 bites of breakfast sausage, only it lasted 2 hours of misery totally clearing my system. ????The diarrhea lasted longer than that one but the other symptoms went away that sounds awful! Good thing you got fluids! I'm sure they perked you up a bit

    Dumping Syndrome

I experienced my first full-fledged dumping episode tonight after eating fish with tartar sauce.. The tartar sauce didn't. Within 10 minutes of eating it, my stomach began to hurt. I got a headache, then felt the urge to use the restroom and got really hot and red in the face on top of it. I only dumped once but good golly I went and found myself a sugar free tartar sauce recipe on Pinterest! But sorry! I had gastric bypass! Not the sleeve! (I'm 10 days post op)

    Now I'm worried

You'll be okay! I for one and 3 days from being switched from full liquids to soft foods and had fish with tartar sauce tonight I dumped And terribly I think I'll go back to my Soup now! We're human! Everything is fine
  15. So Good to hear! I, on the other hand, just called my Doc's office. I woke up with pain under my mid left rib cage when I take deep breaths. It has gotten a little worse, hurts pretty severe when I sneeze or cough. They told me to take some pain meds, in case it is swelling associated with the surgery and they want me to be seen tomorrow. I hope it has nothing to do with that damn inspirometer. I was rather lazy about breathing into it after about day 3????. I really don't feel like I have congestion or pneumonia, though. We shall see. Hello savorysweet, how did you make out at doctors. Nothing too serious I hope. The pain at the rib cage, did doctor have any idea of what's going on.Thanks for checking on me. They sent me for a chest X-ray then read that and told me to go to hospital for CAT scan and some other test. So now we are playing the waiting game. Definitely thinking about you!! Get well, please!
  16. I had gastric bypass may 11th. They didn't cath me during the procedure But they ended up having to straight cath me at 9 the same night because I just couldn't empty my bladder. But, yah! it's up to you!
  17. Hooray !!! Jenn that's awesome. It feels so good to see the scale go down, after struggling with weight for so long. Thank you!! And oh, most definitely! My freshman year of college I was around 286, but that was 3 years ago and I haven't been under 300 since!! Sooooo excited.
  18. I am so ecstatic! I am 2 pounds away from my first goal of being under 300 pounds!!

I'm from northwest iowa! I had gastric bypass in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on May 11th!
  21. But I had gastric bypass, not the sleeve!
  22. I lost 17 pounds in 9 days! Your body won't let you lose too fast!
  23. I'm Alyssa's sister and I'm from iowa! I am 9 days post op! So we are fairly close!

    To tell or not?

I originally decided I didn't want to tell anybody besides my parents and my sister but after I had the actual surgery I realized I didn't care what people thought. I didn't do it for them, I did it for me.
  25. I had gastric bypass on May 11th, though it wasn't a revision, I have found that it was a fairly easy surgery to recover from. I was required to look at all the options before I made a decision on the surgery. Although sleeve looked fine, I just felt like the smaller pouch and the added malabsorption was something that would be beneficial to a person who had issues with food and overeating. It's definitely helped teach me portion control which was a HUGE thing for me! The two are very similar though, and I don't think you will have any problems with whatever you choose! I'll throw in my stats just for a lay down of how gastric bypass has affected me. My surgery date was 5.11.15 (9 days post op) HW: 330 SW: 321 CW: 304 CWL: 17 pounds And I am 21 and 6'2" tall!
