Hi, my name is Mike and I am a long-term post-op bariatric patient. I had my Roux -n-y gastric bypass on 4/30/02, so I've been post-op for just over 13 years. I started my journey at 358 pounds on the day of my surgery and I eventually reached my goal weight of 195 pounds. Now 10 years later I have mintained my weight loss (for the most part) and am now at 208 pounds, so I have put on 13 pounds in the ensuing 10 years - not bad considering that I once gained 12 pounds during an 8 day cruise prior to my surgery. It has been a whirlwind experience in the years since my surgery and I'm really here to help provide support to anyone who has questions or concerns about long-term aftercare and the experiences that one might encounter years after the surgery and long after the weight is gone.
