    Four Days Post Surgery

Well, I am four days post banding. Still having some gas pains but each day does seem to get better. I am trying to see the positive in all of this. Clearly I couldn't have dropped any weight before or I would not have needed this. I have only told those supportive of me in my life. The others will just see it as an easy way out. Let me tell you (and you already know), this is not the easy way out. I am trying to take each minute, each hour, each day, as it comes. Just a couple more days of clear liquids and I get to advanced to some regular liquids. Have a great holiday.

    Need Some Extra Support

Thank you everyone for your comments. Right now I am trying to focus on the positive. I have a job that puts me in the newspaper basically every week. Of course, I am the heaviest person in the picture. Also, I have signed with a book publisher and will be touring next year. I know that the first think people see right now is my obesity. My goal is to gain more self esteem and not consistently be thinking about my weight. If I could have done it myself, then I would have already done it. Although I have some regrets, once I can eat atleast a small bit of solid food, things should look up. I miss sitting at the dinner table now. I miss going through the drive through. I am sure we have all been there. Thanks again for so much support and also the reality. It really means a lot. Take care.

    Need Some Extra Support

Thank you so much for your support. I need to keep thinking positive. Would you mind sharing the best of part of the banding (so far)?
  8. I was banded on Monday, December 17. Except for some gas pains, things are going pretty well. I love this site and decided to look at different blogs. One that caught my eye was people who have had their bands removed. All of a sudden I guess I realized how hard this was going to be. With only four days under my belt, I have become somewhat depressed. Any help you could send my way would be great.

    JUST BANDED

:faint:Well, I was banded on Monday. Still in somewhat pain but every hour it does get better. To this point, no regrets. Luckily I have a job for which I can work from home. Couldn't have even thought about going to work today. I am ready to begin my new journey in life. I am in the public eye every day, including my picture in the paper every week. People are going to be so surprised when they see me. I can't wait for that.

  11. The strips work great. I found them at Wal-mart.
  12. That is sure the way to go. You can both support each other. Next year at this time people will not know either of you. Best of luck and keep us posted.
  13. I was banded on the 17th. I'm glad there was some medication available. It was very uncomfortable for the first 24 hours but it is sure getting much better. No appetite, though. Having sugar-free Jello and trying to get all of the water down. Next Monday will be liquid week (more than just clear liquid). Hoping that I made the right decision to band. What has been the hardest part for all of you?

    READY FOR A LIFE CHANGE

It is Saturday night and my surgery is Monday. I have spent all day looking at various posts. At the same time I have been burning some family DVD's for my Mom. I can't believe how big I am, and have been for so many years. Yes, the time is now. I have to think about the positive things and not the paid or lack of food. It's sad that all I think about is food! I want to live a life. I am at 248 and want to lose 100 lbs. I can do it. I know I can. I'll keep you posted. :faint:
