I've been extremely nauseous the last 4 days. Got a prescription for Zofran yesterday. I've taken it 3 times and don't feel any better. Any idea how long it usually takes to start working?

Your favorite protein drinks/shakes
ljscarr replied to judyoz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Really having a hard time finding anything I can stomach. Can't drink the premier , after the first couple sips I feel like I'm going to vomit. Everything I try makes me gag. Don't know how I'm going to get all my protein in. Ugh! -
I looked up about using straws and saw there was a conversation but it was from 2011. Wanted to see what everyone thought now.

I just started using a straw yesterday and have found its easier to get my water/fluid in with a straw. I just make sure I'm not sucking up air at the bottom of a drink. Thanks everyone.

5 days post op can't do all liquid diet. Anyone else do okay on soft foods?

My surgeon did a good job of scaring me. Repeatedly telling me stories of people who ate solid food to soon and got something stuck or caused a leak...meaning surgery and a hospital stay that could last 3 months. Like someone else said, just because you didn't get sick from it at the time doesn't mean it won't cause problems in the future. I was on clear liquids for 5 days, am in the middle of 5 weeks on full liquids. I hope everything works out for you! -
A few sips into "eating" my liquid my stomach gurgles and I have to burp. Does this mean I'm full?

My surgery was two weeks ago tomorrow. It just seems hard to tell only being on liquids. It helps to hear I'm not the only one. :-)

I really don't feel full, at least not the way I used to. Maybe that's why I don't recognize it.

Pre surgery panic! Thanks all for sharing
ljscarr replied to Brigiter's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had surgery on April 20th and while in the pre-open room I swear I was going to back out. I was terrified and so many things were going through my head...and then I woke up. I don't remember them even starting the sedation. You will get through it! The unknown and what we make up in our heads is much worse than the reality. Good luck!
