    6 days post-op

I have the same thing going on! I have my post op on wen so I'll bring that up and see what the surgeon tells me. I had my surgery on the 23rd of April. I think it's the numbness from being in the hospital bed .. I feel like if a small cold water stream is going down my knee and numbness . I had a Doppler done before being released so I doubt it's a blood clot. I'll keep you posted

    Regret

You are not alone.. I'm ten days post op and today was my weakest day. I went out to cvs and all around me FOOD. The smells and all the junk food... Hating the protein shakes and just wanting to have even the smallest bite of anything. What I did was take myself out of the store and have a jello. Next time I go out I'll take a small snack with me or go right after a protein shake. It's not easy might not get easier soon. but we need to use this tool and work with it... Let's see how tomorrow goes, one day at a time and we will love that we pulled through later when we see the great results. I also add ice chips to my protein shake to give me the feeling of chewing. Drinking plenty of water and walking (being busy) helps me. Good luck and hang in there

    Only Me !

I've only lost 9 pounds and i'm on day 9.. i'm not worrying about it because of the the extra water that still needs to come off. it may not show much on the scale but i do notice some change in my face and arms. Good luck and hang in there
  6. Thank you all for the show of support and prayers. You are all in my prayers and together we will overcome this choice to better ourselves. My pain is a little milder now still very painful and with the left side pain and pull feeling.. I do notice that as painful as walking may seem it is helping me. I'm currently using a walker (made as tall as possible) and take walks outside my house, and sit for a min when i feel its too painful. I've now taking about 5 to 6 five minute walks. Also happy to be able to go to the rest room on my own!!! How are you all sleeping or resting? It takes me about an hour to find a "good" position and even then i feel the pain. It's an everyday struggle but i'm a fighter and will not give up or cheat. And how long is the "honeymoon" period because yesterday was day 9 after surgery and for the first time i felt hunger and some cravings. lol.. i had a sugar free Jello and i guess that had to do..Good luck to us all and many blessings. I will continue to update.. have my post op on May 6.. lets see if they could remove the blood pouch i have sticking out of my stomach.
  7. I'm tried the ice pack and it is helping me some. i cut down on the medications to half and 6hour apart instead of the 4.. i rather deal with some pain now than some side effect from the STRONG pain meds i'm on now.
  8. had my surgery on the 23rd as well.. but i had complication and my shakes didn't start until the 29th had two shakes at the hospital (had Optisource caramel and strawberry) although i wasn't a big fan i was happy to have something other than just plain water. although for the first time in my life i never wanted water more than i have now. on the 30th first day back home I had two more Optisource shakes a day and wasn't too bad, i never finished either one all the way but almost most of it. I also started on sugar free jello (again never happier to have jello). Today I tried costco premier shake (chocolate) and it was so thick it took me about two hours to have half of the shake. for my second shake (also the chocolate premier) i tried it with three ice cubes blended and it was much more easier to drink. the coldness or lighter feel felt easier to drink. I didn't finish it all but almost all the way and this one only took an hour to drink. Hope that helps, i will continue to try new ways of having the shakes and keeping the goal of three shakes a day. Hope this helps a bit Good luck!
