To Catheter or Not to Catheter?
judyoz replied to Sutter Phoenix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No catheter here. I understand why the doctor would want one, other than during surgery (to keep the bladder out of the way, during surgery). But afterwards he would want you up and walking. That being said, I have had a catheter many times and it is not a big deal. Not painful, nothing to worry about. -
Just recently quit smokung
judyoz replied to perk4756's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit at the end of 2013. Very hard, but so worth it. I smoked over 35 years. -
Oh I remember all to well, like just 2 weeks ago LOL. I was thinking what the he!! did I do, what a HUGE mistake. But today is a whole different story. I am so glad I did it. And I am not even cleared past soft foods yet. Hopefully tomorrow when I go for 4.5 week post op visit. Don't know if you can PM on this board but don't hesitate to talk to me, I get it.

I just had "happy family" chicken, beef, shrimp, crab, scallops and pork with veggies. These are not deep fried but oh so good. I had to cook the veggies to make them softer but so what. I passed on the rice and egg roll. I will be having 4 meals from this one order. What is your favorite Chinese food?

I had a glass of wine 2 1/2 weeks out, it went fine. Yes I know it is empty calories...... They say be Very very careful because it will hit you like a ton of bricks.

I would check with insurance. Mine will cover skin removal.

What's the first food you cheated with after Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
judyoz replied to NoBsVs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call it a choice or cheating but I had 3 small bite of strawberry Shortcake with whipped cream 4 weeks out. Oh my it was heavenly. No regrets either. I will be doing that again soon. -
Best piece of advice you have! I'm a day away from Gastric Sleeve surgery.
judyoz replied to Sara51692's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am one month out. I did not have an pain or nausea. I only was allowed ice chips and they were like heaven. I just remember a dry mouth. Keep your chin up and do as they say. Hope it is going well for you today. -
I am 1 month out and just getting into 1 size smaller. Otherwise I have to hike up the other ones constantly.

3 weeks post-op and cheat daily
judyoz replied to nerkerle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Very funny, I was allowed meats but no eggs on my pureed diet. Everyone is so different. -
I agree, just do what you can. There is not very much difference in the two. But if you sip all day, you sould be alright. Best of luck.

Sound like hypotension (low B/P) to me. Which can be caused by a variety of things. Have they looked into Stones? Nobody should have to live with that kind of pain. Best of luck to you. Judy

Phoenix, AZ soon to be sleeved!
judyoz replied to sunshinetinaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I personally would not have done it without my hubby's support. But.... I am happily married and have been for over 30 years. Good luck with your decision. -
Does anyone drink soda after surgery? If so, how long did you wait?
-
I LOVE eggs, anyway they are cooked... So when I could eat one, I was sure I could eat 1 whole egg with 1 additional egg white, with a little chesse. Certainly did not look like much but, I could only eat 1/2. Oh but it was so good! I love the sleeve.

Bypass Reversed to Sleeve- still can't eat.
judyoz replied to bellabloom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What does your NUT say? Can you tolerate any meat, maybe with a little mayo or gravy? That would give you calories too. Are you chewing very well? I feel for you and wish you the best of luck. -
I personally would not have the surgery without my husbands full support. But we are best friends. I do understand what you are saying though because I am independent as well.
-
I know they changed the amount of time you need to spend with a behaviorist just after I saw her. I only needed 45-1 hour and the next week it was pushed up to 2 hours. What state are you in, I am in Michigan. I assume they want to see weight loss, but I did not have to do that.

Go get em girl! I am 55 and just was sleeved 3 1/2 weeks ago. It is going to good. You will be a whole NEW you. Best of luck.

My mental evail was mainly her telling me what to expect with WLS. She asked a few other questions but nothing too indepth. Good luck.

When will I feel better?
judyoz replied to Sleevelady's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think that is normal. I was very tired the first two weeks, but it got better with time. I am only 3 and 1/2 weeks out so I don't have a lot more on you. -
Oh, well then that is different. Keep your chin up. Good luck.
