Oh whatevah, Trey!!!!!!!! Hi y'all! Busy day here. I forgot that I was going to change my user name...thanks for the reminder, lol. We'll see if it gets approved! Tracy, It wasn't my jeep that you saw :huh2: . Sheesh, Jenn...I complain about getting up at 5:30 am. I can't imagine getting up at 4:00 am. I am not at all a morning person!!! I am one of those fools that has to set and reset my alarm multiple times. Don't even get me started about the fact that it is already set one hour ahead, lol. Ashley, good luck on the rodent issue. I think that would have ruined my bath too. There just ain't enough bleach in the world...lol. Have a good one, Angela

Wowzers! Kat I am soooo glad everything is ok. My heart was racing too while I was reading your post. Thank God Rick is ok! I hope you all had a great weekend! I am pooped. I worked 10 hours yesterday and spent today at the Wings Over Houston Air Show with Zach. It was really beautiful. I now have an awesome farmer's tan (sunburn is more like it!). I will check in tomorrow. Have a good one! Angela

Hey, btw... Mike was peeking over my shoulder the other day and wanted to know what was up with "wantitbad" my screen name. Do you guys know if I can change that? At one point, I did want it bad...the surgery that is. Now it just sounds....kinda yucky :w00t:.

Sweet, sweet Friday!! Man...it felt like it would never get here, lol. I just read all of the posts above and now I can't remember what I read. Jeez. Here I go... Trey- That breaks my heart about your dogs. They really do become a part of the family. Phooey on your crappy year too. It will get better! You've got a fun personality and you're not too shabby looking so get out there and enjoy life! (Maybe all that wasn't necessary...didn't you just crash a reunion?? LOL!) ....and we (I think it's safe to speak for us all) enjoy your taunting and teasing so keep bringing it!!! Michelle, ug! Pink eye. Poor baby. My sister and I used to share make-up when we were younger (well...I wouldn't say she "shared" so much as I took). We both had pink eye at the same time! I hope DD gets to feeling better. Kat, I hope you guys get the other dog! The dog you have sounds like a sweetie and 'woo-hoo' for all the training she has obviously had!! It sure makes things easier. Our little dog brought a frog in the house last night. I used to play with frogs when I was younger but I just couldn't bring myself to pick this little dude up! I took the baby gate (which blocks the dog from the litterbox aka "snackshack") and scooted it's butt back out the door (our puppy is facinated with the cat's poop). YUCK. She likes to go in and get herself a 'snack' on occasion (if somebody forgets to put the gate back up). TMI...sorry. The thought makes me dry heave. Then she kisses her 'daddy' and that makes me laugh!! They had a story on the hail in West Texas this morning on the news. They compared it to tennis balls. Hope you guys didn't get it that bad, Kat!! Hiya, Shar! Are you getting any rest? I know you've mentioned working some funky hours! Suzie...I lost track somewhere. Have you done the 5k yet? I wish I was having margi's with you! Jenn- Snuggling with George and then breakfast?? You go girl!!!!!! Cindy...less stress today? I still admire you! Tracy- You boycotting Wal-mart or what? LOL! Kuddos on the .5 lbs. A loss is a loss!! How is the little "see'r" doing? Debbie, how are you today?? Still tinkering with Facebook? I used to spend hours on it. I love reconnecting with people! Ashley, welcome again! LOL...I should tell you a little about me...I am 35, married (Mike) and I have one son (Zach) and two 'bonus" grown sons. I live in Texas..about 10 min. from Tracy. Have fun on your date night! I am working tomorrow so I will catch you guys then. **THAT my friends, was a long post!!!!! Have a good day...er...weekend! Angela

Hi Ashley! Welcome...we DO have a great group of ladies here...and of course, Mr. Creepy! He keeps us on our toes. You gotta watch him!! Tracy...you described Chuck E. Cheese to a "T". I had to lol at the "most important" decision of their life. Michelle- Yuck on the flies! We have wood roaches here too. Big as you thumb, I swear! Yuck, yuck, yuck!! I should be in bed, but here I sit. I have made three kinds of soup this week already. Tonight was a lighter version of a potato soup recipe my sister shared. The one she makes has heavy cream, country gravy, cream cheese and sharp cheddar. This one was more of a chicken broth base and not so fattening, lol. I am just trying to give my band a break for a few more days. It looks like I might have to work both days this weekend. It makes me sad because "Wings Over Houston" is this weekend and that is a family tradition with Zach. Dang it!! G'night! Angela

Good morning! Love the pic, Debbie! I will pm you my facebook info as well. I love your new pic as well Tracy! That hair color suits you. Cindy, I love hanging with friends like that! The crazier...the better!!!! Well, phooey on you guys and your fall weather! I think we are getting up to 92-ish today. I am not sure what happened to our cool air, but I am raising a stink!! My guts still hurt. I am on day 2 of liquids to see if I can find my happy place again . I walked and walked yesterday at the beach. Then I came home and grabbed Mike and the dog and walked some more. One "step" at a time, right? Have a good one, Angela

Good morning! Naw, Tracy, it wasn't a bad day at all. We just felt the need...lol! Debbie, I am 'fessing up too. I didn't like the sound of you being on top of a building either, lol! Your poor roomie! I hope she is feeling better and better with every day that passes. Michelle, I am keeping you in my prayers. I hate to hear you are in pain. Your daughter is a cutie pie (on fb)!! Jenn! I am glad you are going to a PT. Take care of yourself! Suzie, I wish it was still cool here. We are back to summer temps. I just rearranged my closet last weekend moving my summer clothes to the back. DANG IT!! It is soooo nice to walk in the brisk coolness that is fall (or is "suppose" to be fall, lol). Enjoy your 5K! That is awesome. Hiya Plain!!! We are watching you tooooooooo!!!!!! I have lost 6 lbs. since my fill. I can really feel this one. I guess that is to be expected after having nothing for a while. I have been proud of my eating (well, except for last night...and it wasn't too terrible either). At dinner, while gabbing with my husband and son, I managed to lodge a chip somewhere between the bottom of my throat and my band. It HURT! Really, really hurt!! It never seemed to move. I slept on the couch for a while sitting up to see if it would help. This morning I don't feel it, but my chest feels sore. Guess that will teach me. Or maybe I should say, "When will I ever learn?". I am on self-imposed liquids today. Hopefully this soreness will pass soon. Anyone ever experience anything like that?? As I posted on facebook, I caught my son listening to some rough music. I have noticed a couple of post on his facebook too that I am not impressed with. He will be 15 in a little under 3 weeks so I am treading lightly but with a firm message. I was sneaking around listening to the same junk around his age so....?? Lord give me strength! Make it a good one... Angela
-
Aww...my prayers are with you too, Cindy. That is heartbreaking. I cannot imagine $4000.00 a month. Hopefully Kat is on to something that will help you as well. Kinsey is a hoot! Well folks, I did it. I went to margaritaville. That means I am no good at the keyboard tonight and must sign off before I get myself into trouble, lol! Have a good one! Angela

Hi ya'll! Tracy... I am so glad you guys won! I love the free gas and I am grateful you guys told us how that works. I meant to tell you last time we talked that we comp'ed our gas too. Did you go to L'aburge Du Lac (or however you spell it, lol)? I haven't heard a lot of good things about it, so I (we) have been hesitant to go. I did make those pancakes. I had to add a bunch more spices than what it called for. To me (and I only had a couple of bites...tiny ones at that-yay me!!) they tasted very bland. A little vanilla and some more pumpkin pie spice saved them. I don't think it is a recipe I will try again. Debbie, I wish I lived close enough to come and hear you play!! Suzie, a prayer walk? I like the sound of that. Maybe I need to turn off the music and try prayer as well. It sounds soothing... Love your "bestie" Kat! How cute is that?? Sorry to hear about your mom. Thank God she has you! We spent the day at the bayhouse hanging motion sensor lights and laying patio bricks. I was a wow'ed by the lack of outdoor lighting this house had back when we bought it. It was dark as heck down there! Nothing over the driveway, walkway or stairs (we have had a running bet on who was going to "eat it" first by falling down the stairs. You guys just don't know, lol. My son and I are both ridiculously clumsy!!). Also, there was no stepping stones, sidewalk or any form of brick between the driveway and the stairs (the entire length of the house). It gets real muddy when it rains so we have been tossing around ideas about how to fix it. Pour a concrete sidewalk...patio bricks? Mike picked out (and subsequently "picked up") a style of brick that he really liked a few weeks back on a trip to Home Depot without me. I am not liking the pattern at all but if he loves it, I will learn to like it . It's the small things, right?? LOL. Hi everybody I missed!! I have an early start tomorrow. Have a good one! Angela

Evening! I am pooped!! Been up since five and just got home a little bit ago from the football game. Nothing much planned this weekend. I think I'm gonna tackle the garage and see if I can get some more junk moved to the shed. It just seems to all end up back in the garage!! Lazy, lazy, lazy...lol! Zach is begging for pumpkin pancakes. I don't really want to mess with it as I have been doing really well on my eating. I am debating if I want to find a recipe and make a small batch or just load up and head to IHOP in the morning! We shall see how that goes. Have a good one and be safe!!! Angela

Nevermind...I facebook, not myspace!! Move on up in the world, Mr. Creepy!!

Kat...get that looked into!! Tracy...I am GREEN with envy! I hope you win big! You deserved it. I wish we could join you!!!!! I am going to find our "creepy guy" on facebook, lol!!!

Kat... A fun suggestion for Kinsey...(and a cheesy-easy one) is the tootsie roll pops wrapped in kleenex's and decorated as ghost. Another little more complicated one is the cake balls that you decorate like little pumpkins. Too cute! And another...probably not appropriate for Kinsey's school party, but have you seen the litter-box cake? It's a hoot!!! Tootsie-roll turds!! Here's a link: Kitty Litter Cake for Halloween - - FabulousFoods.com Also, I had a co-worker one time bring fruit punch (in a punch bowl). She took a rubber glove and filled it with water, tied it and froze it and then ran it under hot water (to loosen the glove) for a few minutes, cut the glove away and put the "hand" in the punch! I wonder if you could attach some spider rings or something to make it look even cooler. Anyhow, just some suggestions. I miss those days!!

Evening! Suzie...you guys should stand your ground! Three years? That is plenty enough time to establish some trust. I did get my fill today (thanks, Tracy!). I had gained 9 lbs. since my last visit. I was shocked that he put 1.2 in my 4cc band. I was experiencing GERD at 1.5 (I believe), so we will see how this goes. Easy does it... One thing's for sure. I HATE dropping $120.00 a visit. HATE IT! He told me a couple of things that I pondered tonight. I was telling him that the fill prices for us went from $30.00 to $120.00 and that I almost wished I had gotten the by-pass at this point. He told me that his most successful patients (with the LAP-BAND®®) were the ones that had only had 1-2 fills total (ever!!). Wow. Hmmm...probably those that kept their head in the game...learned the value of good food (bowing to Kat) and did not rely on their band to do all the work. Ya think? Confession: What happened?? I was that way for the first 6-10 months. After that I got lazy...and learned to cheat. Then I wanted my band to do all the work for me. I was in a dangerous cycle of swelling my band too tight and then getting unfills and later going back in for fills and starting over. I have probably done this 2-3 times now . Truthfully...even though I still needed to loose 30 lbs. at the time, I was happy with where I was at...proud to have lost the 60+ pounds that I did. I just got too comfortable. Period. I'm frustrated and fed up with myself. The money spent, the time away from my job....something's gotta give. I have walked at the park every day this week. I had two slim fast today (liquids for fill) and then some soup for dinner. I am praying this is a new start and that I can begin to think about what I am eating and why. Like Kat said, if you are limited to how much you can eat...make the food you are putting in your pouch count. Another thing he told me (and please don't shoot the messenger...it took me by surprise too) was that he no longer does lap bands Monday-Friday. He now does mostly by-pass surgeries with his band patients being done on Friday's only. My doctor is one of the top two band doctors in Houston. Why is that? My first thought (again...don't shoot) was that the band might be phasing out. That by-pass is becoming the new (now that it has been revised) tool. I hope that is not the case. I still love my band...I just need to prove it. So, that is my rant (and long post...'cause you love 'em, right??). Have a good one, Angela

Hi- I am happy for you Tracy. I need some of your mojo right now. I feel you, Suzie. I made pumpkin muffins this weekend. If I could reach around and kick my own ass I would. ...I have a fill appointment on Wednesday. I have gained a total of 25 lbs. from my lowest weight. What is it about food?? I mean, I feel like I have control when it comes to any other decisions I make. I am disgusted with myself . Angela

*Yawn*...good morning. Cindy, love the new pic. I can see where your daughter gets her good looks from! Shar...good for you! Love yourself!!! It's taken me forever to figure that out too. I don't think anyone judges us as harshly as we judge ourselves. I too see pics of myself and zoom in on the tummy rolls...the underarm "dingle-dangle"...the double chin. Being overweight for so long has done that to me. I wish we could see ourselves as others do. Jenn, you are a very pretty girl...we see it!! GAS-X is my friend too . Since being banded, I have "blown away" both my husband and my son with my skills. We will just leave it at that, k? Hiya Tracy!! I should PM you but I am just going to post here. We have been having some really good deals here lately (Have I mentioned I love sales??). Walmart has alot of brands of toilet paper and various paper towels (the big packs!!) for $4.00. I also picked up the 2-pack of lysol wipes for $2.50 yesterday. I love Viva Paper Towels because they are soooo soft but I refuse to pay over eight dollars for six rolls. Yesterday they were $5.00 at Walmart! I am wondering if they are just clearing out stock from the back of the store. I went Friday and Saturday and both days it was different brands on sale. Add in a coupon and it is a steal! One more (lol) HEB has their store brand canned veggies 3 for $1.00. I have been stocking up. Back to work! Enjoy your Sunday... Angela

It sounds like we are all knee deep in cleaning and laundry! Oh what fun... I actually have Zach shampooing the carpet! Congratulations, Jenn!!! Suzie, glad you got to see Bu-cee's. The largest I have seen is on I-10. Did you go back that way or is there a Buc-ee's I am missing??? Mmmmm....ribs. I made lasagna last night and there is plenty left. We are doing left-overs tonight! My nose/head issues seemed to have passed but Mike feels terrible. I rubbed his chest with Vick's last night and well...we both slept good! It was strong. I could still smell it after he left this morning, lol. I am going in tomorrow for a 10 hour shift. Mo' money...mo' money! Have a good one... Angela
-
Shar, that "someone" coughed on me too. UG! My head feels heavy and my nose is running! I took today and tomorrow off to get some things done around here. I didn't know what I was signing up for!! I got up at 5:30 am...took Zach to school and then white-knuckled it all the way over to the other side of Houston in rush hour traffic to have Mike's truck serviced. He had heard of this place called Skeeter's Auto Repair on the fishing show (AM radio station) and they come highly recommended. GAH!!!! 50-something miles away...on my day off? When he had originally asked me if I would take care of it today, I said no problem. I envisioned a couple of hours being spent at a local place (or even better...being shuttled home to wait). Instead, I drove over an hour to Cypress, Tx. to wait in their ass-numbing chair for 5 1/2 hours...and make the drive back. I hate to knock my own people, but Houstonians are ridiculous drivers. I had a splitting headache when I got home! Actually, I am not as grouchy as I sound. It just made for a heck of a long day. I came home and ran to JC Penny's to use a coupon I had been hanging on to. While in the bra section, I squatted down to get to the bottom racks (those long ones that stand out off the shelf) and managed to ram the one behind me directly into my right hip/buttcheek. I have a huge knot and a bruise coming up. Nice. I actually saw stars for a minute and briefly envisioned being found face down in the lingerie section. Ha! I did find a stellar deal on a bra though. Less than 5 bucks! I love sales. I am excited about your new dog, Kat! I love the name Izzy. I just bought our little malti-poo a life jacket. She loves to go out in the boat with us but is a little too curious for us to feel safe. One of our friends told us it would be cheaper to put a cork in her butt . LOL. She doesn't know what to think of it...and keeps trying to chew it off. Welcome, Neen. Is Neen your first name? Just let us know what you would like to go by. This is a great group...stick around! Jenn, how was your test? Hi Michelle! Good to see ya. To all of you and anyone I missed, have a great weekend! Angela
-
Good Afternoon! Plain...would that be because you rode all the rides or were the hot chicks checking you out???? LOL. (wait... was I the only one who read it that way??). Thanks for the pics Cindy and Jenn! Love them...you are both beautiful ladies! Kat, sorry about your tummy. Yuck on the rotten egg burps. Those are the worst! Suzie...they just re-did our Walmart a couple of months ago. I hate it!!!! Our pet stuff is now near the yogurt/butter/pudding stuff in the cold asle. I think it belongs back by the garden department! I still get lost in there (but I seem to find Tracy alright!). Fixing to get off of here and pick up Zach...bbl. Angela

I accidentally posted here...it won't let me delete it. I am going to try and PM you...

Happy Saturday morning!! Guess where I am? ...Nevermind! That is too easy. I was just telling Tracy that I hate giving up my Saturdays but the money is just too good to pass up. Besides that, Mike is working again as well. This is what I refer to as shut-down season. The chemical plants peridically shut down a unit for repairs and they tend to work round the clock. I heard Mike's cell phone ring after midnight last night...grrr! Debbie, thank you! I went from not being a talker (a lurker actually) to not being able to shut up. I really enjoy this group and having a place to come and laugh/vent. I don't work for Walmart directly. I work in the maritime industry. I will PM you with a little more info (I'm weary of putting it on a public forum). It is pure coincidence that Tracy and I keep seeing each other in Walmart, lol. I love it too! I am soooo excited! It is finally fire-pit weather. My car thermometer was reading 60 degrees this morning. It's not Jennifer or Suzie or Kat's kind of cold, but I'll take it! I love nothing more that to sit outside at night around the pit on my swing with a cup of coffee. I love, love, love the changing of the seasons. It just seems to do something to your mood, you know? I feel refreshed (you know...that probably has more to do with not having to bath in deodorant! Good riddance humidity!!!!!!!). Kat, what to do with your mother in law??? Good grief! Cindy, have fun at the game! We too are goofballs that overdue our spirit....bulldog flip-flops, sequin shirts and hats! I draw the line at letting my hubby paint his chest and go shirt-less. Just kidding, he wouldn't dare!! LOL. Sorry Tracy if you just spewed in your coffee! Gotta get back to it... Have a great day! Angela
-
...I have been editing for almost 30 minutes! I am sooo glad this thing doesn't show how many times you edit...just that you did, lol!! I am sure I still missed some. ...............good-night! Angela

<------- Needs to take advantage of spell check. LOL...too many post on the fly. Oh, well...hopefully you get what I am trying to say! Hi Kat!! Welcome back. I too think what you did was wonderful. I bet that man is still telling everyone about you guys and what you did for him. Too neat! Suzie, that wall was right here on Spencer Hwy...not far from where we all ate. Like Tracy, I did not get around to actually seeing it up close but I could see it from the street. I think it's awesome that they are moving it around to so many locations. It gives a lot of people an opportunity to pay their respects that they may not otherwise have had. Love it! Beans!!!! Thanks, Cindy! Tracy...call me!! I am here if you need to talk. I have been walking every night this week and I would love your company. I can't pinpoint a time but around six or so is when I am usually out there. We can meet at the college where there is a closed track if you are up for it. Better yet, providing I don't work, we need to go to San Leon this weekend to mow...why don't you join us? You are welcome to come down and hang out on the deck with us. We could get the blender out and make some girl-y drinks (in big glasses with little pink umbrellas!!). *sigh* I could soooo go for one right now! Zach can help Macy fish and we can do some meat maintenance (BBQ...but that phrase makes me laugh every time!!). Ok...on second thought...maybe that is a phrase that I should leave to the men? ...but it's still funny sounding! I am just a phone call away... Hi to all of you I am missing. I am headed to bed. Thank you Jesus that tomorrow is Friday!! Oh! I am a super proud momma. I drop Zach off at a restaurant in front of the high school once a week (on my early weeks) so that he can get breakfast and then attend tutorials. The other day one of the high school principals came in and was chatting with him...asking if he played ball, what classes he was taking, how he liked high school and whatnot. Well, Zach was "yes, sir" to everything the guy was saying and apparently was very respectful. He told Zach he was really impressed with his manners and to keep it up on the football and grades...and then he picked up his breakfast ticket! Zach was so proud. Mom and Dad too! We are old-school in the manners department!! Have a good one, Angela

Good morning, Shar...I hate that!!! I regret telling some people I had the lap-band. It's the same when you loose and then gain it back again. I have put back on about 20 lbs. from my lowest weight. Just yesterday I was told I looked like I was loosing weight again. Sadly, some people cheer you on and I swear some just want to see you fail so they can say I told you so (about the un-natural surgical choice...whatever!!!) you know? It gets old, but phooey on them. I am responsible for me. Debbie, I too am going to have to find your music. How cool! My grandmother was a self-taught pianist and it is something I wish I would have learned as well. Jenn, anyone in the medical/emergency response field has my respect. I am fine with needles but horrified at the sight of our insides. My son lopped the top of his finger off a couple of years ago and I got a good peak at his bone and then later got to watch them remove the pins. YUCK! Then this past Christmas he fell in an elevator which resulted in compartment compression syndrome (severed muscle and tendon as well). His arm was cut open and left open for five days to allow for drainage. That was too much for me (not to mention the skin graph they took from his leg ). Every single time they came in to change his bandages or the docs came in to look....yuck, yuck, yuck. So yeah...big, big props to you!! I could not do it!! Suzie, sorry you feel yucky. Get some rest tomorrow! Cindy, how is school going? LOL at keeping your daughter close to home. I don't blame you!! Tracy, hey!!! I jumped on here a few times yesterday but never could actually get time enough to post. Lunches around here are iffy. Right now, Wal-mart's import cargo is kicking our butts. It's Christmas stuff coming in and it probably won't let up until around Thanksgiving. I would love to meet with you after work though...send me a PM if you are available this week....or we can meet at Wal-Mart! Hey, Michelle...sorry you are feeling bad too. I hope you don't have an infection...yuck. Hi'ya Plain!! I hope Kat is having fun! Hope I didn't miss anyone.... Back to work! Angela
-
The poor little see-looker is going to be exhausted! It might be easier for her to guess when I am NOT at Wal-mart! HA!!
